WHY GOD IS NOT MERELY A “HIGHER POWER”

Sometimes when you ask people if they believe in God they’ll say something like “Well, I believe in a “higher power”.
The problem with this idea is that it can give the impression that God isn’t really a personal being. In other words, it’s the kind of view that “de-personalizes” God.
It’s kind of convenient actually. You get to believe in a “higher power” but not one that makes any sorts of demands on us… especially moral demands.
It’s like having your religious cake and eating it too.
But of course, the Christian position is that God is a PERSON.
