Benjamin Netanyahu Emphasizes Importance Of Bible Study For Students
Bible study for Israeli students is essential because the Holy Book is the basis of why the Jewish people are currently living within Israel and staying there, according to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said during a recent cabinet meeting.
An article that was published by Christian Daily reads: “On Tuesday, Prime Minister Netanyahu urged students to study the Bible. He said the Israeli government’s objective is to bring about an education revolution founded on excellence and Zionism, The Jerusalem Post relays.”
“Netanyahu explained that excellence is important because it helps children realize their potential. Zionism, on the other hand, is instrumental in understanding the reason why Jews have returned to and remained in Israel,” the article states.
“First of all, the study of the Bible,” the Prime Minister said on Tuesday. “We must make a major effort, this is the basis for why we are here, why we have returned here, why we stay here.”
“Knowledge is a critical word. We want to give it to every child in Israel, Jews and non-Jews as one, religious and secular,” Netanyahu said. “This is the basis of the new world, and the basis of Israel as a strong nation in the world.”
