Today's Israel Inspiration

Today is Rosh Chodesh Elul, the Hebrew month that immediately precedes Rosh Hashana, the Jewish New Year.  On this day, we begin to reflect on the past year and contemplate the ways we can grow in the coming year.  In today's verse, the prophet Jeremiah declares that the future should be seen in the children who inhabit the world and provide hope for a perfected universe. By watching children and their enthusiasm for life we remind ourselves of the need for energy and excitement in our service of God and the study of His precious Bible.  Now is the perfect time to join the Israel Bible Reading Plan, and commit to enhancing your Bible study.  FREE with any Reading Plan is an amazing Hebrew Chart that will help you understand the word of God even better!

What is the significance of the Kippah?

Though there is no explicit mention of the sanctity of the Kippa in the Hebrew Bible, the Talmud teaches of the obligation to cover one’s head upon mentioning God’s name in order to exhibit true humility in the face of his Creator. The Kippa is a reminder to the wearer of the importance to constantly keep God on one’s mind, enabling one to remain humble and refrain from sin.
