Today everyone is a celebrity, even a teen can become an overnight sensation on social media. A 17-year-old Florida Teen has taken it upon

herself to make a political statement which is in such bad taste that no one understands why she was allowed to enter her senior prom.

Milan Morris, who is a standout basketball player at Cardinal Newman High School in West Palm Beach Florida, has posted the images of her,

wearing the dress pictured below, on her Instagram account. This, of course, made her pictures go viral.

As you can see this whole publicity stunt is in very poor taste. And not to mention that all the pictures of all these individuals chosen for

her dress are from many years before they broke the law and ended up dead because of it. They are just pictures to trigger anger.

Why are these photos being taken in a busy public park? Isn’t it customary that the parents of the girl take pictures when the boy comes to

pick her up on prom night? Or have customs changed since the days we all went to the prom? Maybe it was all staged from the beginning?

“The designer told Essence finishing the dress was a powerful moment for him: ‘It was art. It was surreal. It spoke volumes.’

Commenters on Instagram seemed to love Morris’s prom dress and hailed it a work of art.

One Instagram user said: ‘Are there more photos available? Your dress is such a work of art, I’d love to see it from all sides. So many names

to those faces!’
Another said: ‘Great message and a great way to bring awareness.'”

According to Essence Magazine:

“The gown, which features images of Trayvon Martin, Sandra Bland, Michael Brown, and others whose lives have been cut short in encounters with

law enforcement or, in Martin’s case, a gun-wielding neighbor, was designed by Florida-based designer Terrence Torrence.

Torrence, a West Palm Beach-based designer who also works in Miami and Atlanta, was the dressmaker who brought the whole look together, Morris

told ESSENCE.com.

“He was the mastermind behind this whole thing honestly,” said Morris adding that Torrence’s “message is a huge issue in America today.”

Torrence, who is knee-deep in designing for prom season, told ESSENCE.com that he knew he wanted to create a dress inspired by Black Lives

Matter last year, but it all finally came together in 2017. The dress took four days to make.

“It was powerful,” Torrence said of finishing the dress. “It was art. It was surreal. It spoke volumes.”

He added: “It was powerful and a movement and I knew people would respond to it.”
