Sketchy news reports are going viral which suggest Ayatollah Ali Khamenei is dead or dying. Officially, on Sunday, November 17, the Supreme Leader had a meeting with Iran’s Ambassador to Lebanon Mojtaba Amani. They published a photo to go with it showing Khameni on his feet and looking well. Nobody knows if that’s truth or illusion.
Iran’s official report that the Ayatollah is just fine and dandy can’t be trusted. Ali Khamenei may have had a stroke or heart attack from all the screaming and yelling he’s been doing since Donald Trump regained his rightful place in the Oval office.
He also may have been the victim of a successful or attempted assassination. Contrary to word coming out of Tehran, it’s being widely reported that, “Iran secretly elected its next leader.”
The Israelis weighed in on the controversy by noting the photos, which go with social media stories that say the Ayatollah is in a coma, are misleading. They’re fake news from a long time ago. Most of the sources don’t use the word “coma” so the story hasn’t been debunked along with the photos.
If the Supreme Leader is still breathing, his entourage is convinced he won’t be for long and they seem to have already strong-armed Khamenei’s hand-picked replacement into power on the sly.
If reports are accurate, “Tehran has secretly chosen Mojtaba Khamenei, the second son of Iran’s Supreme leader Ali Khamenei, as the next head of the country.”
That claim has been sourced to “Iran International, a Persian-language international media outlet with ties to the Iranian regime.” The news broke Sunday, shortly before the photo of a live Ayatollah was rushed out by Iranian state media.

Effective immediately
The initial report noted that “Mojtaba may assume the role even before the death of his 85-year-old father.” That version indicates the Ayatollah is still alive. Iran International says he’s “suffering from a severe illness.”
They got word that “60 members of Iran’s Assembly of Experts convened on September 26.” That was called “an exceptionally unusual meeting” and ordered directly by the Supreme Leader.
They were “ordered” to “decide on the succession immediately, without prior notice and under strict confidentiality.” There was some grumbling on the part of the assembly about “both the decision and the process.”
That was quieted with threats of having their female relatives raped and the rest of the clan massacred. “The assembly ultimately reached a unanimous agreement to designate Mojtaba as the successor.” The Ayatollah’s dead, long live the Ayatollah, they shouted.
The assembly had no problem keeping secret about the decision because they didn’t want to be ripped limb-from-limb by angry mobs of Iranian peasants. “The assembly resolved to maintain maximum secrecy over the decision due to fears of widespread public protests.” If that wasn’t enough to keep them quiet, they were reminded the IRGC knows where their families live.
“Members were warned to keep the meeting confidential, with threats of repercussions for any leaks.” The cone of silence lasted five weeks. The Ayatollah has spent the past two years “grooming” Mojtaba “for leadership, taking on a more active and central role in decision-making related to the Iranian regime.” Everyone knew he would be the boss, someday. The future, as they say, is now.
