Texas School District Pulls LGBT Books from Library Shelves, Gets a Shock Notice from Biden Administration

Confuse and conquer. That’s the strategy employed by progressives to entangle the most vulnerable and valuable — our schoolchildren — in the web of their radical agenda. The strategy is designed to cause either division or, preferably, conformity.

A North Texas school district whose superintendent was secretly recorded ordering librarians to remove LGBT-themed library books has been targeted by the U.S. Education Department’s civil rights enforcement arm, according to NBC News.

A July complaint by the ACLU promoted the Education Department’s Office for Civil Rights to open an investigation on Dec. 6. The complaint accused the Granbury Independent School District of violating a federal law that prohibits discrimination based on sexual orientation and gender. Granbury is about an hour’s drive southwest of Dallas.

This is the first case directly tied to the nationwide movement seeking to ban books with topics on sexuality and gender, according to NBC.

The Office for Civil Rights alerted Granbury officials that it is invoking Title IX to investigate violations of federal law that prohibit discrimination based on sexual orientation and gender, according to the Washington Examiner.

Glenn allegedly discriminated against LGBT material in a leaked recording verified by multiple news outlets. “I acknowledge that there are men that think they’re women and there are women that think they’re men,” Glenn told librarians during a January meeting. “I don’t have any issues with what people want to believe, but there’s no place for it in our libraries.”

An outspoke conservative, Glenn reportedly told librarians that their school board was now “very, very conservative” and that any employee holding opposing political views “better hide it. He added, “Here in this community, we’re going to be conservative.” The district has reportedly removed 130 titles that featured LGBT characters and/or themes.

Conservative parents and politicians across Texas had been pressuring districts for months to remove books that contain explicit descriptions of sex from school libraries. Several young adult novels were labeled as “pornography.” Those calling for the books’ removal have repeatedly said they are concerned only with sex and vulgarity, not with suppressing the views of LGBT students and authors.

Glenn made a similar argument during his closed-door meeting with librarians in Granbury. “I don’t want a kid picking up a book, whether it’s about homosexuality or heterosexuality, and reading about how to hook up sexually in our libraries.”

ACLU attorney Chloe Kempf responded, “These comments, combined with the book removals, really send a message to LGBTQ students in the districts that: ‘You don’t belong here. Your existence is shameful. It should be censored,'” as reported by the Examiner.

Book removals directly creating a hostile environment for a particular group of students is a novel argument that will be tested in court. “It’s certainly the first investigation I’ve seen by the agency testing that argument in this way,” W. Scott Lewis, a managing partner at consulting firm TNG, told NBC.

If Glenn is found to have violated students’ rights, the Granbury school district can be required to make policy changes and submit to federal monitoring.

The question for the courts to answer is whose civil rights are being violated? Better yet, whose natural rights are being violated?

In 1689, in his Second Treatise of Government, John Locke, whose writing heavily influenced the U.S. Constitution, wrote that all individuals are equal in the sense that they are born with certain “inalienable” natural rights. These rights are God-given and can never be taken or even given away.

Do the inalienable rights include promoting sexual promiscuity in public schools? Or is sex a private matter that should be dealt with in the privacy of one’s bedroom?

Finally, is it up to the federal government to determine reality or has God already done that?

These are valid questions. Will they be given fair consideration? I have my doubts. Supreme Court Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson was unable to define a woman during her Senate confirmation hearings.

The progressive confuse and conquer campaign has infiltrated our highest court. It is in our churches. It is in our schools. But take heart.

For Christians, it is a good time to be alive. Your mettle is being tested. As is your faith and your determination to protect your children from whatever is wicked that this way comes.

It’s a time for heroes to take back our institutions. When it comes to schools, parents are on the front lines. The soul of the country depends on them and those who support them.

Op-Ed: Why 'Under God' Is So Important in the Pledge of Allegiance By Richard Blakley, Western Journal January 3, 2023 at 6:18pm

Op-Ed: Why 'Under God' Is So Important in the Pledge of Allegiance

In 1954, Republican President Dwight Eisenhower signed a bill into law inserting the phrase “under God” into the U.S. Pledge of Allegiance. Eisenhower loved our country, fought for our country, and thought we needed a reference to the God of our country in our country’s Pledge of Allegiance.

Why would that be the case? Well, it reminds all of us that everyone is accountable to a higher authority. Even presidents and congressmen would have to acknowledge that they have a higher authority, and that authority is God.

But actually, it is more than that. The next word after “under God” in the pledge is “indivisible.” You see, our country is indivisible — when it is under God.

Our country was once called “the great melting pot” because of all the different cultures that were blended together, giving us what was once a strong, united nation. What provided the flames that heated this melting pot and melded us all together? It was the flames of Christian evangelism.

On Sept. 12, 1782, the Continental Congress of the United States approved and endorsed the printing of the Bible to bring our people together as one nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.

The importance of the Word of God in our society was also captured by Speaker of the House Robert Winthrop, who in the early 1800s declared, “Men, in a word, must necessarily be controlled by a power within them or by a power without them; either by the Word of God or by the strong arm of man; either by the Bible or by the bayonet.”

Is America still united?

These circuit riders would travel from place to place within their circuit, going from community to community and from church to church — if they had a church. They would often have camp meetings in the woods, which might last six to nine days. They were used by God to mold men’s hearts by bringing people together to worship the LORD and study the Bible.

When individuals were considered for being circuit riders, four questions were asked of them:

  1. Is this man truly converted? (This would be important.)
  2. Does he know and keep our rules? (This would also be important.)
  3. Can he preach acceptably? (This would certainly help.)

And last but not least…

4. Does he own a horse? (This was an absolute necessity.)

Possibly the greatest circuit rider in America was Francis Asbury. From 1771 to 1816, he rode 228,000 miles throughout the country, visiting many of the established Methodist preaching places in North Carolina. Do you realize that in his mission to take the Word of God to the people, this man rode the equivalent of circling the earth 10 times?

One of his famous sermons was entitled, “Be saved from the jaws of an angry hell.” So he was certainly adding some fire to the melting pot.

At the end of Asbury’s 45 years of preaching, there were 200 circuits, 358 itinerant preachers and 200,000 American Methodists brought into the unity of the faith.

Maybe it is time that we get outside of our four walls and remind the people that we have a God, and we can learn about Him through the Bible.

If we will come together under the authority of God and His Word, not only will He bless our nation and empower us to overcome evil, but He will also bring us into the unity of the faith. This means we will no longer be just a bunch of disjointed, self-serving people, but we will be united under God, indivisible, and melded together to truly make our country great again and bring to fruition our country’s great potential for good.Folks, if we come together under God, no power on earth can stop us.

Gallup Poll Shows Americans on a Collision Course...With One Another...By Andrew West January 3, 2023 at 5:08pm

Gallup Poll Shows Americans on a Collision Course...With One Another

The sensationalism of the mainstream media has struck again in the United States, as a new Gallup poll demonstrates just how conditioned we’ve become to the ever-widening gaps within our political culture.

This is a nation once built on the ideals of diversity of thought and independence.  But, thanks in no small part to the marketing-information complex of the infotainment industry, we’ve seen our politics distilled down into just two camps…two camps who must be perpetually at war with one another for the sake of pigeon-holing their consumer habits into cookie cutter commercial spending.

And, thanks to this adversarial-on-purpose brainwashing, we are now a nation divided.

When offered opposing outcomes on each issue, about eight in 10 U.S. adults think 2023 will be a year of economic difficulty with higher rather than lower taxes and a growing rather than shrinking budget deficit. More than six in 10 think prices will rise at a high rate and the stock market will fall in the year ahead, both of which happened in 2022. In addition, just over half of Americans predict that unemployment will increase in 2023, an economic problem the U.S. was spared in 2022.

And then:

On the domestic front, 90% of Americans expect 2023 will be a year of political conflict in the U.S., 72% think the crime rate will rise, and 56% predict there will be many strikes by labor unions.

The revelation that 9-out-of-10 Americans foresee political conflict is horrifying, to put it lightly.  But, more horrifying still, is just how high the mainstream media’s ratings will be when that conflict occurs.
