For a party that claims to champion the rights of the working class, Democrats seem to know shockingly little about the wants and needs of those who actually make up the working class.
And recently, liberals have shown themselves shockingly ignorant regarding the wants and needs of truckers, the state of the trucking industry as a whole and, specifically, the New York City trucker boycott in the wake of the $350 million fine slapped on former President Donald Trump as a result of his fraud trial.
Luckily for them, “Trucker Jake” is here to set them straight.
In a video he shared Monday on X, Trucker Jake sarcastically noted how “overnight, liberals all have become experts on the trucking industry. They all know logistics forward and backwards.”
According to these new trucking experts, Jake said, “we’re all gonna lose our jobs, we’re all going to be replaced by AI.”
Moreover, he said, while truckers “could use the help” from AI, “it’s not gonna happen in my lifetime, it’s not gonna happen in your lifetime, it’s not gonna happen in your grandkids’ lifetime.”
Well then, his liberal interlocutor might retort, what about illegal immigrants? They’re desperate for jobs and would gladly take the place of you ungrateful MAGA extremists.
Unfortunately for Jake’s opponents, that’s not going to work so well either.
“Really, the illegals?” he said. “They can’t pass a background check, can’t pass a drug screening, and then you got the language barrier.”
Now, while plenty of critics commented on Jake’s video (as one would expect for any Trump supporter online), the post did garner a decent amount of support as well.
One user commented, “Watching all the leftists show up in posts like this to show us how much they don’t know is always entertaining.”
Will all truckers participate in this boycott? Most likely not.
But, according to statistics shared by TruckInfo.net, the majority of truckers are white men over the age of 45, usually without any sort of higher education, a demographic that tends to be overwhelmingly conservative.
Regardless of how many truckers end up boycotting, Jake makes an important point: Considering the shortage of truckers and the lack of alternative options — whether it’s AI or hiring illegals — truckers have quite a bit of leverage.
All this means that, contrary to Trucker Jake’s liberal critics, the NYC trucker boycott could do some real damage.
A Note from Our Deputy Managing Editor:
I heard a chilling comment the other day: “We don’t even know if an election will be held in 2024.”
That wasn’t said by a conspiracy theorist or a doomsday prophet. No, former U.S. national security advisor Lt. Gen. Michael Flynn said that to the founder of The Western Journal, Floyd Brown.
Gen. Flynn’s warning means that the 2024 election is the most important election for every single living American. If we lose this one to the wealthy elites who hate us, hate God, and hate what America stands for, we can only assume that 248 years of American history and the values we hold dear to our hearts may soon vanish.
The end game is here, and as Benjamin Franklin said, “We must all hang together, or assuredly we shall all hang separately.”
All of this means that without you, it’s over. We have the platform, the journalists, and the experience to fight back hard, but Big Tech is strangling us through advertising blacklists, shadow bans, and algorithms. Did you know that we’ve been blacklisted by 90% of advertisers? Without direct support from you, our readers, we can’t continue the fight.
Can we count on your support? It may not seem like much, but a Western Journal Membership can make all the difference in the world because when you support us directly, you cut Big Tech out of the picture. They lose control.
A monthly Western Journal Membership costs less than one coffee and breakfast sandwich each month, and it gets you access to ALL of our content — news, commentary, and premium articles. You’ll experience a radically reduced number of ads, and most importantly you will be vitally supporting the fight for America’s soul in 2024.
We are literally counting on you because without our members, The Western Journal would cease to exist. Will you join us in the fight?
Sincerely,
Josh Manning
Deputy Managing Editor

Word leaked out over the plan to be proposed by Democratic Councilwoman Shahana Hanif to erase the “length of shelter stay limitation” by the end of the month. A public hearing on her scheme is scheduled for Mar. 1.
She clearly believes that the responsibility to house, feed and clothe illegal migrants should be borne by city taxpayers forever. Currently the system operates under a mandate from Democratic Mayor Eric Adams last July that limited the time illegals may stay in city-operated shelters to 60 days.
The time allotted for a free stay in the city’s homeless shelter system was then lowered to 30 days for single adults. Then they are required to reapply to stay longer.
Interviewed by the New York Post, Hanif called being evicted from a shelter a human rights violation by both the city and state governments.
Not all New York City lawmakers are on board with erasing the current check-in system. Republican Councilwoman Joann Ariola of Queens told the Post, “The 30- and 60-day check-ins exist for a reason.”
Ariola explained “they provide opportunities for city agencies to make contact with migrants in the shelter system and ensure that they’re on a path toward living on their own.”
Adams repeatedly insists that the city is “full,” and there is no doubt that the homeless system is bursting at the seams.
According to the Department of Homeless Services, the first four months of Fiscal Year 2024 saw a staggering 53% increase in sheltered individuals. The agency said the surge was “driven by the unprecedented increase in entrants, primarily asylum seekers who made up over half of all entrants.”
An average of 83,985 people were housed daily in the system during the quarter. That compared to 54,738 the year prior.
The report further cited asylum seekers as the impetus for a 147% increase in families with children residing in the city’s shelters. There was a corresponding 185% increase in free housing demand for adult families.
