YO, ACTIVISTS: A Non-Western Country Just Legalized Slavery… When’s Your Protest?
If they care about the issue, and not just undermining America, they'll start raising awareness immediately right?

While historical revisionists have worked overtime in the last few years, and have worked for decades, to reframe the West as being uniquely responsible for the horrors of slavery, and underserving of any credit in eliminating it, other countries are pushing the other direction… even now.
The same people who love to rant about the historical stain of slavery (and it should go without saying that people owning other people is a Bad Thing™, we’ve got people like the 1619 Project trying hard to rewrite history to suggest that slavery was somehow the foundation stone of American history, and not triggered in that same year by a historical accident of a naval battle resulting in the unexpected arrival of the people being held aboard the losing ship, and a judge called upon to help decide what happens next.
The horrors of the Atlantic slave trade are but one version of the horror that has shaped so much of human history, found most anywhere we have had people. The Barbary War in Jefferson’s day was fought against Barbary Pirates who raided villages for human captives that could be held for ransom or slavery.
And the West — specifically the Christian West, motivated by the Bible itself — has led the way in eradicating the modern slave trade, often at the price of both blood and treasure.
Meanwhile, in Afghanistan:
Oops. Wrong post. Important, but not relevant to the question of emancipation.
Here’s the right one.

In Afghanistan, apparently people can now officially own other people.
But don’t expect American Activists to speak up about it. They only seem to have the bandwidth to focus on whatever today’s version might be of that ever-shifting Omni-cause.
Today it might be ICE, tomorrow it might be abortion, or gun control, or whatever can be used to organize angry crowds marching as social proof of the relevance of their issue. (Which has created a very profitable little industry in the hire-a-crowd niche.)
The OmniCause that always seem to be VERY well-funded by the same powerful players and groups, at least some of whom have a well-documented history of collapsing economies (with real harms to real people) in other parts of the world for entirely selfish and profiteering reasons.
