Baby Was Left for Dead, Abandoned Inside a Hospital Bathroom

Baby Was Left for Dead, Abandoned Inside a Hospital Bathroom

STATE   MICAIAH BILGER   JUL 31, 2017   |   5:07PM    SACRAMENTO, CALIFORNIA
Two years after a premature baby girl was found dead in a California hospital toilet, her tiny body has been laid to rest.
California Catholic Daily reports the San Bernardino Catholic diocese was instrumental in giving the baby girl a proper burial. She was buried in the Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Cemetery on July 27 in Colton, California. The baby was named Rose Herrera-Cornejo.
According to the report, a nurse at Desert Hospital in Palm Springs found the baby girl’s dead body in a toilet in the hospital on June 3, 2015. An autopsy revealed that the infant weighed 2 pounds, 7 ounces and was born prematurely at about 30 weeks gestation. It is not clear if the baby girl was born alive.
The baby girl’s mother later was discovered when she came to the hospital complaining of bleeding, according to the report. The woman, who is not named in the report, admitted that baby Rose was her daughter.

Palm Springs police investigated the incident but did not charge the woman; they said they believed the baby died because of medical reasons. The Riverside County Coroner could not determine the exact cause of her death.
As Catholics often do with the bodies of aborted and abandoned babies, local Catholics in Palm Springs asked to be allowed to give baby Rose a proper burial if the mother did not want her body. Authorities recently gave them permission to do so.
Here’s more:
The Catholic citizen, who asked not to be identified, said great gratitude must be expressed to San Bernardino Bishop Gerald Barnes, Deacon John, the staff at Our Lady Queen of Peace Cemetery, and to Rose Mortuary of Palm Desert. The diocese did not charge for services. They presented a beautiful marble cross, part of which was placed in Baby Rose’s casket.
A prayer card said, “Pray for mothers and fathers in our community that they be strengthened and not turn against or abandon their own child.”

Rosie O’Donnell: Women Should Form Our Own Party if Democrats Back Pro-Lifers

Rosie O’Donnell: Women Should Form Our Own Party if Democrats Back Pro-Lifers

NATIONAL   MICAIAH BILGER   AUG 1, 2017   |   6:34PM    WASHINGTON, DC
It seems that nothing but complete and utter support for the killing of unborn babies in abortions is acceptable to Rosie O’Donnell.
The liberal actress lashed out against the Democratic Party on Tuesday after leaders said they would not deny support to candidates who are pro-life on abortion, according to The Hill.
O’Donnell suggested that pro-abortion women form their own party if the Democrats step back from their radical support of abortion.
Later in the day, O’Donnell added:
On Monday, Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee Chairman Ben Ray Luján, of New Mexico, said “there is not a litmus test” on abortion for Democratic candidates. He said the party will financially support candidates who oppose abortion.
Suffering heavy losses last November, Democratic Party leaders have been searching for ways to win back voters, and its pro-abortion stance has been one focus. Last year, the party adopted a radical new platform calling for full support of abortion on demand and taxpayer funding of abortion.
But the debate really flared up in the spring after abortion activists with NARAL criticized DNC Chair Tom Perez, Sen. Bernie Sanders and others for supporting Heath Mello, a Nebraska Democratic mayoral candidate who has a pro-life voting record.
Amid pressure from abortion activists, Perez described abortion as a “fundamental value”and said every Democrat should support it.
“Every Democrat, like every American, should support a woman’s right to make her own choices about her body and her health. That is not negotiable,” Perez said in a statement.
Many said Perez was imposing a litmus test on abortion for future Democratic candidates, but other Democratic leaders denied that support of abortion was key to being a member of the party.
The party also has experienced push back from some of its own members. State and national party leaders, politicians, Democrats for Life and others urged Perez to welcome candidates who support unborn babies’ right to life. In May, for example, Arkansas Democratic leaders made it clear that they will welcome pro-life candidates in their state.
Democrats for Life leaders also met with Perez to discuss how the party’s out-of-touch stance on abortion is alienating voters. The pro-life group estimates more than 23 million Democrats in the U.S. are pro-life.
Last year, Pew Research found that 28 percent of Democrats say abortion should be illegal in most or all cases. Marist/KofC polling also found that 23 percent of Democrats consider themselves pro-life and 40 percent say abortion is morally wrong.

Writer J.K. Rowling Falsely Claimed President Trump Snubbed a Disabled Boy, Waits Days to Retract

Writer J.K. Rowling Falsely Claimed President Trump Snubbed a Disabled Boy, Waits Days to Retract

NATIONAL   CHRISTINE ROUSSELLE   AUG 1, 2017   |   5:49PM    WASHINGTON, DC
Author J.K. Rowling has finally deleted tweets accusing President Donald Trump of ignoring a disabled child, three days after tweeting the “pants-on-fire” claim. Rowling retweeted a video that showed Trump seemingly ignoring the outstretched hand of a small child in a wheelchair, and said the president was a “monster of narcissism.” Although the full context of the video was quickly discovered–and as it turns out, Trump spent moretime with the child than he did with anyone else in the room–Rowling refused to acknowledge her error or delete the tweets until late Monday evening. The boy in question’s mother even defended the president, explaining that her son was not trying to shake his hand, but rather was trying to show him a badge.
On Monday, Rowling deleted most of the previous thread of tweets, keeping the one where she said that Trump is having a “corrosive effect” on society.  She also issued an apology–not to Trump, whom she accused of being an ableist and a narcissist, among other things–but to the boy and his family.
While it was nice of her to apologize for needlessly dragging that poor boy and his family through all of that, she still made those demonstrably false comments about the president that were picked up by other people and spread throughout the internet. Trump did not mistreat or ignore a small child with a disability. He did precisely the opposite of that–yet in the “tweet first, confirm facts later, apologize (maybe) never” strategy of social media, nobody cares.
