Several anti-tank missiles were fired from Lebanon towards an IDF base and military vehicles northern Israel, the IDF Spokesperson’s Unit announced Sunday afternoon.

“A number of anti-aircraft missiles were fired from Lebanon at an IDF base and military vehicles in the area,” the IDF said. “There are a number of confirmed hits.”
Following the Kornet attack, Israel’s military returned fire at targets in southern Lebanon and ordered residents living within 4 kilometers of the border to remain in their homes and open their bomb shelters. Any activity along the border fence area, including agricultural work, is prohibited.

Al-Mayadeen reported that Hezbollah took responsibility for the attack near the community of Avivim saying that it destroyed an IDF vehicle and “killed all the occupants inside.” The report indicating that it was in response to the Israeli airstrike in Syria which killed two Hezbollah operatives.

Lebanese media reported that the IDF shelled sites near the Lebanese border town of Maroun al-Ras.

Earlier on Sunday the Hezbollah affiliated al-Manar news channel reported that the IDF fired several shells were fired causing fires on the Lebanese side but no injuries.

The Lebanese army reported that an Israeli drone dropped incendiary material on a forest along the border, sparking a fire. The statement by the Lebanse Armed Forces said that it was following up on the Israeli violation with UN peacekeepers.

"A short while ago, fires broke out in the Lebanese border area. The fires originate with operations by our forces in the area,” the IDF said in a statement.

Israel's enemies, especially Iran, should know that those who seek to destroy it risk destruction themselves, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said on Sunday, amid mounting tensions with Iran and its proxies in Lebanon, Syria and Gaza.

Speaking to students on the first day of school in Elkana, Netanyahu said it is clear today that most of the terrorism Israel faces is organized, sponosred and funded from one place: Iran.

“A new empire has arisen with the goal of defeating us,” he said.  “They build proxies in Lebanon in the form of Hezbollah, in Gaza in the form of Hamas and Islamic Jihad. They are trying to entrench themselves in Iraq to turn it into not only a country through which it can transfer arms to Syria and Hezbollah, but also to turn it into a launching pad for rockets and infiltrations against us.”

Netanyahu said that Israel is fighting Iran on all these fronts, and is determined to prevent it from entrenching itself militarily in the region and from getting nuclear weapons, “which would unequivocally alter the balance.”

Israel’s Northern Command has been on high alert since last week expecting a limited strike against military targets over strikes in Syria and an alleged Israeli drone attack in Beirut’s Dahiyeh last week.

Lebanon’s National News Agency reported on Saturday that the IDF launched over 30 flare bombs near the Lebanese border towns of Ghajar, Shebaa and Kfar Shuba as well and fired heavy machine guns near the villages of al-Semmaqah, al-Alam and al-Marsad.

The IDF Spokesperson’s Unit said on Saturday evening that the military had also begun preparing ground, air, naval and intelligence troops for the possibility of an outbreak of violence in northern Israel, specifically in the Galilee. A convoy of artillery was seen been moved north by local residents.

In addition to the reinforcement of artillery batteries, Iron Dome missile defense batteries have been deployed and leave for combat soldiers in the area has been cancelled. The IDF has also closed the airspace to civilian flights, closing the civilian airport in Kiryat Shmona and has put the Navy on high alert for an attack by Hezbollah in Lebanon.

The moves are part of the military’s strengthening of power and readiness in anticipation of any retaliation by the Lebanese Shiite terror group which it expects against IDF troops or a military installation along the border.

On Saturday night Hezbollah Secretary General Hassan Nasrallah warned that it was “ineveitable” that the group will retaliate against Israel which he said claimed responsibility for attacks on Lebanon, Iraq and Syria.

“Normally, we respond from Shebaa Farms, but this time I wanted to say it would be open-ended where we would retaliate from. This time it won’t be restricted to coming from Shebaa,” Nasrallah was quoted as saying by the Hezbollah affiliated al-Manar Television Channel.

“The first retaliation on the Israeli aggression would be initiating our right to down Israeli drones.Israel should know that the Lebanese airspace is not open to its drones and  the Resistance will choose the right time and place to target the Israeli drones in our airspace,” he continued.

IDF Chief of Staff Lt.-Gen. Aviv Kochavi toured the area on Friday and the Head of the Northern Command Maj.-Gen. Amir Baram warned that Hezbollah and Lebanon would suffer a “harsh response” to any attack.

“You should be preparing not for Hezbollah’s response against the IDF, but for their response to our response” to such an attack,  Baram said, vowing that “if an IDF soldier is so much as scratched, our response will be harsh.”

NO JUSTICE FOR KATE STEINLE IN CALIFORNIA

    4
Imagine if crime victims had as many rights as criminals in California.
But we live in the age of pro-crime "criminal justice reform" where lefties champion murderers, rapists and muggers, especially if they're illegal aliens, and the media sweeps the human toll of pro-crime policies under the rug.
Kate Steinle was murdered. The illegal alien killer got a soft tap on the wrist. Now the soft tap has also been removed.
A California state appeals court Friday overturned the lone conviction against an undocumented immigrant who shot and killed Kate Steinle on the San Francisco waterfront in 2015, a case which drew national attention and became a flashpoint in the debate over illegal immigration.
Jose Inez Garcia-Zarate, who was in the U.S. illegally had been deported to his native Mexico five times, was acquitted in November 2017 of first and second-degree murder, involuntary manslaughter, and assault with a semi-automatic weapon. He was convicted of one count of being a felon in possession of a firearm.
On Friday, the 1st District Court of Appeal in San Francisco overturned that conviction because the judge failed to give the jury the option of acquitting Garcia-Zarate on the theory he only possessed the weapon for a moment.
    Well of course.
You can't prove that Zarate just found the gun, held it for a moment, then it accidentally went off in his hands, somehow killing a young woman, and then this solid citizen went off to do some volunteer work at a homeless shelter.
For that matter, we can't prove that the same people who killed JFK and O.J.'s wife didn't do it.
Earlier this year, the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals upheld a lower court decision to dismiss a wrongful death lawsuit filed by Steinle's parents against San Francisco. The lawsuit maintained that the city’s so-called sanctuary policy and San Francisco County Sheriff Ross Mirkarimi bore responsibility for Steinle’s death.
    Of course it did.
Illegal aliens killing Americans is a victimless crime in California.

CALIFORNIA BILL TO BAN "TOXIC" PAPER RECEIPTS FAILS

CALIFORNIA BILL TO BAN "TOXIC" PAPER RECEIPTS FAILS

    4
Paper receipts are destroying the environment. If you'd ever seen a rat with a receipt stuck in its craw, you would weep too.
Sadly, a California environmental measure to make everyone more miserable failed. After banning plastic bags, straws and common sense, the receipt ban did not go through.
The California Legislature had been considering banning paper receipts unless requested by a customer. But a legislative committee voted Friday not to send the legislation to the Senate floor for a vote.
The move means the bill is unlikely to pass this year.
Democratic Assemblyman Phil Ting had criticized the receipts for harming the environment. An aide dressed as a giant receipt stood beside Ting as he announced the bill at a news conference earlier this year
California solved all the big problems leaving it free to focus on the important stuff.
But if paper receipts are banned, what will the crazy bums whom the Democrats have unleashed on California streets wipe themselves with? 9th circuit court decisions? Copies of Alice Walker novels? Taxpayer money?
Senate Appropriations Committee chairman Anthony Portantino said the bill did not get out of committee because it had some problems. He said paper receipts have other uses, such as offering coupons to consumers.
Also, last time I checked, paper is biodegradable. That was the excuse for banning straws and plastic bags.
Is paper no longer good enough for the green mafia?
Assemblyman Phil Ting, who I suspect was invented as a social media prank, tweeted, "I’m disappointed #AB161, my bill to move CA away from wasteful & often toxic paper receipts, will not move forward this year. But glad to have raised awareness about the health & environmental harm receipts can cause. Change often takes time. #SkipTheSlip"
Change takes time. First dismantling segregation. Then banning "toxic" paper receipts.
At least Phil raised awareness. Of what a miserable joke the California Democrat one-party state is.

JULIAN CASTRO POLLING AT 2% AMONG

    LATINO DEMOCRATS

    2
How do you say "embarassing" in bad Spanish again?
Politico Magazine has one of its patented, "Why doesn't anyone like X candidate" pieces. And at times it's unintentionally hilarious.
A recent open-ended Pew survey put Castro below even Buttigieg in a poll of Latino Democrats.
I'm not sure which survey Politico is using, but this August one has Castro polling at 2% among Latinos while Buttigieg polled at 1%.
Those are obviously really, really bad numbers. And humiliating for a guy whose whole pitch is ethnicity. And yet it seems Latino Democrats are not all that enthused about open borders.
    It could be worse though.
Castro is at 0% among black Democrats.
As Castro sees it, white pundits and political analysts are underestimating what it would mean for turnout if the first Latino were on the ticket. A lot is made about how Cuban-Americans don’t vote like Puerto Ricans who don’t vote like Central Americans who don’t necessarily respond to a third-generation Mexican-American with occasionally shaky Spanish. Castro says those differences will melt though once a nominee actually comes from the Latino community, and he suspects that even Republican-leaning Hispanic voters will support a path to victory that, he told the audience in New Hampshire that evening, would give the Democrats Florida, Arizona, and at last, the great state of Texas.
And they'll crown him king. And put a golden crown on his head.
But until that great day, he's polling at 2% even among Latino Democrats because they don't actually like him very much.
Nevada, the third in the nation caucus state has among the highest Hispanic populations in the country, a state where Hispanics account for roughly 30 percent of the vote. In five polls of the state conducted so far this year, however, Castro has failed to best 1 percent.
But all the Hispanic Republicans will vote for him. And Texas too.
But around a sprawling backyard with a swimming pool in the town of Cornish, New Hampshire, after Castro finished up his bit about saying “¡Adiós!” to the Trumps on the White House lawn, Mauricio Vivaldo, a 59-year-old retired educator and immigrant from Bolivia said that he was dismayed that more Latinos had not attended Castro’s events.
“There are a lot of Latin people in Manchester, a lot in Nashua. They know he is running but they are not here to support him,” Vivaldo said.
    They're good judges of character?
