While ‘Shutdown’ Schumer Dithers Over Obamacare, TrumpRx Is Delivering Real Results

Trump beat Dems at their own game by picking the shutdown to announce a Trump-ian solution to high drug prices

Dems still keep slamming into the brick wall of trying to beat Trump in a branding war. Branding was his secret weapon in rocketing to the top in three very different disciplines and he just ‘Trumped’ them again.

You recall what the big focus of the Schumer Shutdown was supposedly rallying around, don’t you? “Bringing down health costs’ by throwing another Trillion dollars we don’t have into subsidies to keep Obama’s ‘Affordable Care Plan’ from collapsing under the weight of its own financial absurdities.

We just added another Trillion to the national debt between August and October, but sure. Let’s set fire to another 1.5 Trillion because Schumer’s having a hissy fit and trying to kill the clock so that Republicans can’t pass any legislation before the midterms.

The adults in the room, meanwhile, are out there getting stuff done. The President may not have the power to write his own legislation, but the man spent his entire life wheeling and dealing, which includes finding out what carrots and sticks might motivate an ‘unmotivated seller’ to part with that one last piece of property that will let him swing that deal he’s been working on.

But now, instead of land owners or TV producers, he’s sitting down with trade delegations, setting up peace deals, or trying to secure the supply chains for America’s critical resources (civilian and otherwise) so that we’re NOT left high and dry the next time we see a global economic shock.

The pandemic taught some of us a thing or two about just how vulnerable we are to supply-chain bottlenecks in some parts of the world where the governments don’t really like us.k

Today’s Oval Office announcement was a Two-Fer.

Not only was it a stick in the eye of both Schumer and Obama, by touting TrumpRx solutions to exorbitant drug costs on which Democrats over-promised and under-delivered, but it came at the exact moement where the wheels are falling off of the Obamacare he would have repealed but for McCain betraying every promise he made to his electorate just so he could ‘stick it’ to the new guy who got the chair he himself had coveted for decades.

Obamacare is done and dusted, welcome to the age of TrumpRx.

America, with 5% of the world’s population is no longer shelling out 75% of the profits that pharmaceutical companies have been raking in. America is getting favored nation status, meaning that whatever the best price any modern nation pays for their drugs will be the same price that Americans pay.

In that same announcement, he’s announced to America the reshoring of pharmaceutical manufacturing companies. That means, we no longer have nearly 100% of the world’s medicines passing through a supply chain in either China or India before finding their ways to American shelves. This is a step in the other direction.

He even gave some real-world examples of what these funding changes could look like, based on popular products from some of the companies present in the room:

The prices of Ozempic and Wegovy will fall from $1,000 and $1,350 per month, respectively, to $350 when purchased through TrumpRx.
The price of Zepbound and Orforglipron, if approved, will fall from $1,086 per month to an average of $346 when purchased through TrumpRx.
