Oscar-winning Hollywood star Patricia Arquette has compared the refusal to wear masks in a grocery store to having her “free flow”period without wearing pants.

In a Twitter argument with the pro-Trump hip-hop artist and commentator known as An0maly, Patricia Arquette said that his desire to go grocery shopping without the “muzzle” of wearing a mask would be like her menstruating in plain view of everyone.

“I like to go without pants when I have my period and free flow without being muzzled. Which markets can I go buy food for my family that won’t harass me? Freedom!” she sarcastically tweeted.

When An0maly pointed out that masks penalize healthy people, the Boyhood actress added: “I’m healthy and my period blood is too so you can just pick your food next to my blood smears.”

Patricia Arquette is one of Hollywood’s most vocal anti-Trump activists. Earlier this year, the actress called President Donald Trump an illegitimate president while also accusing House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) of turning the United States into a Russian colony.

“Reminder- Donald Trump is not the legitimate President of the Unites States. He never has been . He never will be,” she said at the time.

During her Golden Globes acceptance speech last year for her supporting role in Hulu’s The Act, she lectured viewers and the president on Iran, climate change, and other subjects during a rambling, semi-coherent diatribe.

Police in England have arrested a woman in connection with a video of an allegedly “empty” hospital in Gloucestershire that was posted on social media.

Gloucestershire Constabulary police officers arrested the woman on Tuesday, on suspicion of a supposed “public order offence“.

The 46-year-old woman has been bailed until January on the condition that she does not enter any NHS facility except for a health emergency or appointment, according to the local news outlet Gloucestershire  Live.

In the video posted on social media, the woman is heard saying: “Where’s the second wave? Where’re all the people dying from the second wave?” as she wanders through the largely deserted corridors of the hospital.

“We’ve just been locked down in Gloucestershire into Tier 3, for this? For an empty hospital, look at it, this is a disgrace,” the unnamed woman went on.

“To be honest I didn’t expect it to be this quiet,” the woman said, adding: “I expected a few more people to be around.”

“This is a disgrace. It is so dead. All the people in our country desperately waiting for treatment, cancer treatment heart disease, honestly this is making me so angry,” she concluded.

It is said to have been shared around 80,000 times on Facebook before being taken down, although sympathisers have uploaded fragments of the video to other platforms, such as Twitter.

In a statement, the Gloucestershire Police said: “Following a number of reports in relation to a video filmed by a member of the public at Gloucestershire Royal Hospital and posted online, officers arrested a 46-year-old woman yesterday (Tuesday 29 December) on suspicion of a public order offence.”

“The woman has been bailed to return to police on 21 January, with conditions that she cannot enter any NHS premises or the grounds of any such premises, unless in the case of an emergency or to attend a pre-arranged NHS appointment,” the police force added.

The woman claims a “thug of an officer” tried to “drag me off” wearing only a nightgown and “twisted my hands behind my back in handcuffs”, although she was eventually allowed to get dressed. She added that she was held in a police cell until 11:30 p.m. before being released.

In response to the arrest, London mayoral candidate David Kurten said: “A woman was arrested for filming this video of an empty hospital. This is not a crime. It is tyrannical to use the police to intimidate and harass whistleblowers.”

Up to Half of Health Care Workers in Parts of California Refuse Coronavirus Vaccine

Up to half of health care workers in some parts of California are refusing to take the coronavirus vaccine, despite scientific evidence that it is safe, leading to a potential surplus of doses and renewed questions about the system for allocating them.

The Los Angeles Times reported Thursday:

At St. Elizabeth Community Hospital in Tehama County, fewer than half of the 700 hospital workers eligible for the vaccine were willing to take the shot when it was first offered. At Providence Holy Cross Medical Center in Mission Hills, one in five frontline nurses and doctors have declined the shot. Roughly 20% to 40% of L.A. County’s frontline workers who were offered the vaccine did the same, according to county public health officials.

So many frontline workers in Riverside County have refused the vaccine — an estimated 50% — that hospital and public officials met to strategize how best to distribute the unused doses, Public Health Director Kim Saruwatari said.

The extent to which healthcare workers are refusing the vaccine is unclear, but reports of lower-than-expected participation rates are emerging around the country, raising concerns for epidemiologists who say the public health implications could be disastrous.

Some health care workers are skeptical of vaccines; others worry that the development of the coronavirus vaccine may have been rushed. Still others believe that because they have been able to avoid infection for months by wearing masks and taking other precautions, they can continue to do so, the Times reports.

Earlier in December, Fast Company magazine pointed out that mandatory vaccine policies in the workplace also tend to backfire, ironically, as more people are likely to be vaccinated when participation is voluntary.

Debate continues about the best way to distribute the vaccine. Florida has adopted a first-come, first-served approach for the elderly, leading to criticism — but also to a potentially faster rollout. to a vulnerable population.

Other states have prioritized health care workers and first responders, which has led to some delays in wider distribution.

Vice President Joe Biden, who criticized President Trump’s vaccine development efforts during the presidential campaign, complained earlier this week that “the Trump administration’s plan to distribute vaccines is falling behind, far behind.”

Operation Warp Speed leader Gen. Gustave Perna apologized earlier this month for confusion that led to many states receiving fewer doses than they had expected. However, White House coronavirus adviser Dr. Anthony Fauci said on Wednesday that he expected the program to catch up to its targets after “hiccups.”
