J6 Judge Goes ROGUE
Well, as soon as Donald Trump issued blanket pardons for the 1,500+ J6 defendants, we all knew there would be pushback.
The judges who sentenced many of these people are now speaking out against Trump’s pardons.
This would include Judge Chutkan, who was the presiding judge in the Trump election case prior to Special Counsel Jack Smith dropping the charges.
Rule of Law
For the most part, most of us have no problem with the majority of Trump’s pardons.
However, there is the issue of the violent offenders that were attacking police on January 6.
Trump has always claimed to be a law and order president, as well as a supporter of police around the country, but he just pardoned about five or six dozen people who were proven to have beaten police officers.
I have friends who believe this was all fake, but I have seen the tapes and pictures, and those people were clearly beating on cops, and there is just no way I think they should have been let out of jail early.
And remember, these pardons are coming from someone who has suggested life in prison for people who have assaulted police officers in the past.
Judge Chutkan was clearly upset that Trump had just obliterated all of her rulings, stating, “It cannot whitewash the blood, feces, and terror that the mob left in its wake.
“And it cannot repair the jagged breach in America’s sacred tradition of peacefully transitioning power.”
Trump responded to justify the pardons, stating, “These people have served years of jail, and their lives have been ruined.
“They’ve served years in jail, and, if you look at the American public, the American public is tired of it.”
Again, I could care less about the pardons for people who were wandering around the Capitol that were given months or years in jail… set them free.
But if you beat on a cop, I just cannot get behind allowing them out early.
