And there shall be signs in the sun, and in the moon, and in the stars; and upon the earth distress of nations, with perplexity; the sea and the waves roaring; Luke 21:25
"Watch ye therefore, and pray always, that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all those these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man." Luke 21:36
Jesus' description of a darkened sun and moon, falling stars and the heavens being shaken would have struck a chord in the minds of His audience. So would John's record, which included the element of an earthquake. Such events were described many times throughout the Old Testament in connection with the time called the Day of the Lord.
Most Christians today watching end times events know that we are instructed to "Look up" when we see the signs Jesus spoke of to His disciples. There is little doubt that the earthly signs spoken are happening on planet earth ... however, do we really understand what is happening overhead in the heavens. What about the signs in the sun moon and stars.
Now understanding what we see in the heavens above is a little more difficult and many have been very wrong in their understandings as recent history proves. This page will present some current "theories" on signs in the heavens relating to bible prophecy and future end times events. Please note that I said theories so discernment is required when looking at what is being said about any future events ... as history proves.
