Pritzker: GOP ‘Cannot Know A Moment Of Peace’

Democrat Governor Openly Calls for Violence

Illinois Gov. J.B. Pritzker is facing calls for his arrest after he made thinly veiled calls for violence, as he argued that Republicans should not be allowed to “know a moment of peace” and demanded “mass protests” and “disruption.”

Pritzker has apparently decided that he should begin his efforts to seek the 2028 Democrat presidential nomination by calling for harassment of anyone who disagrees with him and advocating for a new version of the 2020 riots. The Democrat governor made these remarks during a speech at the New Hampshire Democrat Party’s McIntyre-Shaheen 100 Club Dinner on April 27.

“Never before in my life have I called for mass protests, for mobilization, for disruption, but I have now,” he said. “These Republicans cannot know a moment of peace. They have to understand that we will fight their cruelty with every megaphone and every microphone that we have. We must castigate them on the soapbox and then punish them at the ballot box.”

Pritzker went on to claim that Republicans’ portraits will eventually be put in museums “reserved for tyrants and traitors.”

Pritzker’s comments rightfully prompted backlash on social media and from some within the Trump administration.

“I warned before the election, the left is planning the BLM riots 2.0. It’s coming,” wrote podcast host Megyn Kelly.

A reporter asked Trump administration Deputy Chief of Staff for Policy and as Homeland Security Advisor Stephen Miller whether he believed that Pritzker was inciting insurrection and questioned whether the Department of Justice (DOJ) would be taking action.

“What I would say is his comments, if nothing else, could be construed as inciting violence,” Miller said before going on to list the numerous attacks on conservatives in recent months, including the assassination attempts against Trump, “credible threats” against “his associates,” and the “spate of left-wing domestic terrorism across this country.”

Cook County Commissioner Sean Morrison also called out Pritzker’s comments, arguing that they are “Reckless” and “an Invitation to Violence.”

“Illinois Governor JB Pritzker has crossed a dangerous line — and elected officials and media should not stay silent about the words he chose to use this past weekend,” he wrote in a statement, referring to the remarks as “an unhinged political rant.”

“This is not ordinary political hyperbole — it looks to legitimize hostility, lawlessness, and violence against millions of law-abiding Americans who simply happen to disagree with him politically,” Morrison added. “It is the language that triggers violence.”

“Terrorism is already a problem,” wrote podcast host Tim Pool.

Meanwhile, Pritzker’s chances at securing the Democrat nomination in the 2028 presidential election are not looking good — which may be why he is desperately trying to rally the leftist base within his party to target conservatives, as it could distinguish him from the other candidates whose comments are much more veiled. According to The Daily Wire, “An average of recent polls of prospective 2028 Democratic presidential candidates found that former Vice President Kamala Harris led with 27.1%, followed by former Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg at 16.1%, Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) at 12.9%, New Jersey Senator Cory Booker at 8.6%, and California Governor Gavin Newsom at 7.9%. Pritzker ranked 10th with 3.2%.”
