Researchers or institutions found violating these policies could face “immediate revocation of ongoing Federal funding, and up to a 5-year period of ineligibility for Federal life-sciences grant funds.”
The order also creates a reporting system to increase transparency, requiring research institutions to report dangerous gain-of-function research, including research supported by non-federal funding.
