HEY GOP: Schumer’s Latest Shutdown Vote Is LITERALLY Pro-Slavery… So CALL Him On It!

It's time to make them own the label 'party of slavery'

The left crossed a Rubicon they can never uncross on Friday. And if the GOP has an iota of political good sense, they will tattoo this decision across Schumer’s forehead.

If only we had a word for compelling people to work while refusing to pay them for their labor… oh WAIT! We DO!

Dems are on the wrong side of yet another issue. This time, it’s paying essential government workers.

Schumer slipped up. And if we don’t let him get away with it, we can hit his party where it really hurts.

The carefully crafted narrative (or, ‘lie’) that Dems have been whispering in the ears of voters for years is that they are the nice guys, the compassionate ones. They care deeply about the down-and-outers. They see the plight of the poor, and are in their corner.

Most of all, on all questions and issues relating to race and the past ills of slavery, they are on the right side the issue and the other party is on the wrong side.

At least, that’s what they’re telling us with their words. Their actions are another story entirely. They see ordinary citizens, and their suffering, as nothing more than pawns on a political chessboard. In a word, ‘leverage’.

And their voting record proves that’s EXACTLY what they think of American workers… even the government ones.

Republicans brought another vote to the floor, besides the dozen or so to reopen government, or to fund this or that slice of the government pie until we can get the government train back on the rails.

Now that there’s no money for the government checks to go out and cover the government employees, we have ourselves a difficult situation. Government employees who have been dubbed ‘essential’ government workers — military, law enforcement, and air traffic control for example — are compelled to show up for work whether the government is open or not.

Republicans held a vote to make sure that those people who have no choice but to go to work will get paid for the work they have done.

It was called the ‘Shutdown Fairness Act’ and it was opposed by all but 3 Democrats.

The Democrats who opposed it insisted that ‘essential government workers’ should be obligated to show up and do their service for the country, but that they should do so without being paid for their work.

Have the Democrats ever heard about the Emancipation Proclamation? It was an innovation to US history brought to you courtesy of the ORIGINAL Republican President.

It made it pretty clear that America is no longer in the business of obligating people to work without their labor being fairly compensated.

Are they just being true to their Confederate and KKK roots by insisting that Slavery should still have a place in 2025 America?
