WATCH LIVE: Kathy Griffin Press Conference 6/2/17

LIVE STREAM: Kathy Griffin and is holding a press conference on Friday in order to react to the continued outrage over her controversial photoshoot with a likeness of President Trump‘s bloody, decapitated head.

Griffin has hired attorney Lisa Bloom, who announced that today’s event will “explain the true motivation behind the image, and respond to the bullying from the Trump family [Griffin] has endured.”

Griffin’s photoshoot became an instant source of controversy this week, and it was strongly condemned from figures on both sides of the political aisle. The backlash has cost Griffin celebrity endorsement deals, public events, and her New Years Eve co-hosting job with CNN’s Anderson Cooper.

Griffin has apologized for the photo, though she still faces major condemnation pro-Trump people and others around the country. Trump himself blasted her photo as “sick,” and the president’s family has also slammed the comedienne over the controversy.

The Pianist (Genocide)

The Pianist recounts a true story from the Nazi Holocaust that is both horrifying and inspiring. Set inside the walled confines of the Warsaw Ghetto, the film focuses on the struggle of a famous Polish pianist, Wladyslaw Szpilman, to survive after the loss of his entire family to the concentration camps. In spite of the chilling indifference of many to the slaughter of the Jews of Warsaw, Szpilman is ultimately saved by a German Army officer named Wilhelm Hosenfeld. A devout Catholic, Hosenfeld is credited with helping to hide and rescue a number of Polish victims of Nazi atrocities.

Hosenfeld himself was eventually captured by Russian troops and died in a Soviet concentration camp after the war. However, at Szpilman's urging, he was posthumously honored by Israel as one of the "Righteous Gentiles" who, along with Oskar Schindler and others, refused to ignore the humanity of Holocaust victims.

The film stars Adrien Brody, Thomas Kretschmann, Frank Finlay, Maureen Lipman, Emilia Fox and Michal Zebrowski.
