Archaeologists Find Church of the Apostles Near Sea of Galilee

ARCHAEOLOGISTS FIND CHURCH OF THE APOSTLES NEAR SEA OF GALILEE

A team of American and Israeli archaeologists have discovered the Church of the Apostles near the Sea of Galilee. The church, which is believed to have been built over the house of disciples Peter and Andrew, also indicates the location of the city of Bethsaida, where Jesus healed a blind man.
An archaeological team from Kinneret College in Israel and Nyack College’s Center of the Study of Ancient Judaism and Christian Origins has discovered pieces of marble and small gilded glass blocks called tesserae in previous excavations made in the site of el-Araj near the northern shore of the Sea of Galilee. “These discoveries already informed us that the church was waiting to be found somewhere nearby,” Prof. Steven Notley of Nyack College explained to Fox News.
The team later found the church’s mosaic floors, which had been buried for almost 1,500 years.  According to the Center’s press release, these discoveries indicate a “large and magnificent church.”
Ancient documents mention the Church of the Apostles, including one written by a Bavarian bishop named Willibald in 725 A.D. “[Willibald] states that the church was in Bethsaida built over the house of Peter and Andrew, among the first disciples of Jesus,” Notley said.
The significance of the discovery proves not only the existence of the church, but also narrows the scope of Bethsaida’s location. “…[U]ntil its recent discovery, many scholars questioned [the church’s] existence. Although it is mentioned in Byzantine pilgrimage itineraries, many thought these reports mistaken,” Notley explained. “Of equal importance, the church indicates that there existed a living memory in the Christian community about the location of Bethsaida, home of Peter, Andrew and Philip (John 1:44).”
The site appeared to unoccupied during the 4th and 5th centuries A.D., but recent discoveries of a Roman bathhouse, Roman-era houses, and pottery at the site indicate ancient urbanization and a small city.
The team will continue next excavation season to dig at el-Araj to discover more, with the hopes of entirely excavating the church. “Thus far, we have only uncovered some of the southern rooms of the church, likely the southern aisle,” Notley said. “At the end of this season, we were just beginning to uncover the mosaics of what is likely the nave, the center section of the church.
“At the end of next season, we expect to be able to publish a preliminary report on our first five seasons and definitely answer the question of the locution of New Testament Bethsaida-Julias.”

NYC Council Members Host Drag Queen Story Hour to Celebrate Funding Increase for City Libraries

NEW YORK — Two city council members in New York City who openly identify as homosexual recently hosted a Drag Queen Story Hour at a public library to celebrate a funding increase for the city’s libraries, which includes 25K allotted for drag queen reading programs.
Jimmy Van Bramer and Daniel Dromm, D-Queens, presented local drag performer Angel Elektra at the Jackson Heights library on July 25. Elektra marched in last month’s Queens Pride Parade alongside children who helped hold a banner for Drag Queen Story Hour. 
“I am particularly glad that Drag Queen Story Hour has found a home at city libraries, including the Queens Public Library,” Dromm told the Sunnyside Post. “Drag Queen Story Hour is a fun and fabulous way of encouraging children to read. The flamboyancy and theatrics of Drag Queen Story Hour truly captures children’s attention and helps facilitate learning.”
“I am especially proud to support Drag Queen Story Hour, a wonderfully imaginative and inclusive program for kids that encourages acceptance and a love of reading,” similarly remarked Van Bramer. “Drag Queen Story Hour provides all kids with a space to be themselves and to see queer role models — something I desperately needed as a kid.”
New York’s 2020 budget for public libraries increased by $33 million and includes $25K for Drag Queen Story Hour programs. The Sunnyside Post reports that both Van Bramer and Dromm bookmarked $5,000 for the children’s event for their respective districts.
However, last month, some residents weren’t so thrilled about an event at the Brooklyn Public Library and protested outside of it.
“It’s one thing for a drag queen to come in costume and read kids a story. It’s another thing for them to read stories about gender fluidity,” said organizer Tag, according to the Brooklyn Eagle. “It’s about the indoctrination of these children. Just like we’re telling them there’s a tooth fairy and there’s a Santa Claus, we’re telling them they can be what they’re not.”
“What it comes down to is that this event is dangerous,” he stated. “Transgender people have the highest rate of suicide out of anyone, and to bring a child who is not even in-tune with their own body to believe that they can be something that’s biologically impossible, is irresponsible.”
One woman in Washington State who opposed a Drag Queen Story Time there wrote in an op-ed last month that she finds such depictions of women to be quite demeaning.
“Drag queens do not freak me out; they offend me to my core. Condescending remarks do not diminish the concerns of real women,” wrote Anna Bohach. “All one has to do is watch an hour of the ‘RuPaul Drag Race’ show to see the stereotypical misogynistic depictions of women. We get to watch men wear tight seductive clothing, big bouffant wigs, fake eyelashes, and over-the-top makeup, all while calling each other ‘fishy.’ ‘Fishy’ is a term used by men in drag to describe a convincing drag queen, meaning they look so much like a woman their genitalia smells of fish.”
“Let me say something about drag: a man can put on a dress, pearls and lipstick to gyrate and act like a fool to demean women. But at the end of the day he gets to take off the dress and be a man again. Women don’t get to just take off the dress. At the end of the day we come home and we feed our families, get our kids ready for bed, do the laundry and rock our babies to sleep. A woman never gets to just take off the dress; our day is never done.”

‘Genderfluid’ Calif. Drag Queen Running for US Congress

LOS ANGELES — A drag queen from California who identifies as “genderfluid” has announced his run for U.S. Congress and is vying in his drag persona for the congressional seat of Democratic Rep. Adam Schiff.
“It really took a minute for people to take me seriously, to realize that I’m not doing this as a stunt, I’m not doing this as a statement,” the candidate, who goes by his stage name Maebe A. Girl, told PEOPLE. “I’m doing this to run an election and win it.”
Maebe already was elected in April to serve on the local Silver Lake Neighborhood Council, and is responsible the formation of the Silver Lake LGBTQIA Advocates Committee.

He uses his drag name in office and says that he decided to likewise run for Washington in drag because “I have a more powerful voice when I’m in drag” as “[p]eople can’t ignore you.”
While most drag performers still identify as male when out of their costumes and makeup, the Los Angeles-area performer, who is known for his impersonations/mockeries of Melania Trump, Betsy DeVos and Sarah Huckabee Sanders, identifies as genderfluid. Maebe prefers the pronouns “she” or “they.”
“Whenever I’m in full drag, it doesn’t feel like a costume, it just feels like an extension of me,” he told Los Angeles Magazine.
According to Maebe’s website, the Democratic candidate’s platform includes “LGBTQIA rights,” women’s rights, immigration rights, homelessness and poverty, gun reform and healthcare.
“I will implore our representatives to consider the unconstitutionality of restricting a woman’s right to an abortion,” his site also reads. “While I fully support religious freedom, I do not support religious representatives in government who vote on behalf of their religion instead of their entire constituency.”
“Religious convictions are often the great motivators in these situations, and we need to remain cautious about the interaction between Church and State — especially while considering most religions are patriarchal,” it states.
Maebe says that he does not oppose Adam Schiff, who has served in Congress for 10 terms, but just feels that he could be a better representative of the common people.
“I want to run against Adam Schiff because I believe the people in [California’s 28th District] deserve a representative that can relate to their struggles and who knows what it’s like to experience systemic oppression,” he told Q Voice News. “Too many of our representatives are wealthy, middle-aged white men, and that doesn’t accurately represent our diverse population.”

Proverbs 29:2 says, “When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice, but when the wicked beareth rule, the people mourn.”

Sen Ron Wyden Illegally Escorts Pregnant Woman Across US Border

Sen Ron Wyden (D-Oregon) has unilaterally decided that all Mexican women have the “right” to healthcare in the US, and to have their babies here so they can claim citizenship for them if they claim asylum. On July 27, he and his progressive buddies made a trip to Juarez, Mexico where migrants are being held while their asylum claims are being processed.

While there, he came upon a young family – the Mexican woman who was just over 8 months pregnant and had “complications” – so he “escorted” them across the border illegally.
“I met a women who is eight and half months pregnant. Because I had a wonderful physician from Oregon, Dr. Herbert, with me, she said that … the woman was looking at some very serious healthcare problems … [that] she needed medical care.  So they immediately packed all their belongings up, headed to the border to make sure she could get to the United States and get the medical care she needed. We were essentially told early on by the customs official [at the border] that ‘No way that she could get in,’ then when they found out I was a U.S. Senator and we had a pediatrician with us, they changed their tune. Now that individual is going to be able to get the medical care that she so desperately needs.” Sen Ron Wyden
Sen Ron Wyden obviously believes he is above the law. He can do anything he wants, because no one stopped him. He played the “I’m more important than you” card to get the family into the United States.
The comments were rife with unhappy people. Comments such as these:

Then maybe she shouldn’t have made the journey at 8 months pregnant!!! Congratulations you just broke the law and you should be charged and removed from office!
Another example of the “laws don’t apply to me”. You should be arrested & forced to resign.
There should be a warrant out for your arrest! Could I do this? No!
There are lots more where that came from – the point is, people are becoming extremely tired of Democrats portraying Republicans as racist and evil, while they violate the law on a regular basis.
