She went on Fox News to expose the conditions in West Baltimore, and now she's under SIEGE from hackers, media, trolls

Republican strategist, Baltimore activist, and political commentator Kimberly Klacik is under siege Sunday after she shared video on Fox News Saturday morning showing the conditions in an area of Baltimore within Elijah Cummings' congressional district.

The deplorable conditions she showed, and the segment's framing - which characterized the state of Cummings district as far more unlivable and objectionable than those at border detention facilities against which Cummings recently raged -- inspired the Trump tweet thread that has dominated the news ever since.

Despite Klacik being Baltimore-based, not to mention that she's a woman of color, as the media would put it were she a Democrat, the left is going after her. So much for those woke sensibilities.

As punishment for her showing actual video from the district in question, the press, hackers, and everyday trolls are after Klacik, she explained via Twitter, and in force. On Saturday afternoon, she wrote that there appeared to be an effort to publish a "hit piece" about her, meant to harm her or her reputation.

Later that night, the hackers tried their own game.

On Sunday, she explained more. "I've received countless emails, calls & text claiming my "hit piece" is on the way," wrote Klacik, referring to that apparent effort she'd posted about on Saturday..

But she also said it wouldn't stop her.

As for the trolls, you really don't want to know what they're saying. But if you insist, just do a search on Twitter.

All of this is retribution for her segment on Fox News, which was the impetus for Trump's Twitter rant about Elijah Cummings.

Florida health officials are warning of an uptick in a mosquito-borne virus known as Eastern equine encephalitis (EEE).

Several sentinel chickens tested positive for EEE, which can spread to humans via infected mosquitoes and cause brain infection and swelling, the Florida Department of Health in Orange County said in a Thursday statement. Sentinel chickens are fowl that are tested regularly for the West Nile virus and EEE. Their blood can show the presence of the diseases, but they don’t suffer from the effects of the viruses.

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.) said this week during an appearance on Ebro in the Morning that marginalized communities have “no choice but to riot.”

“Once you have a group that is marginalized….once someone doesn’t have access to clean water, they have no choice but to riot,” Ocasio-Cortez said about a half-hour into the 55-minute interview.

Her remarks came during a discussion of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, but Ocasio-Cortez clarified that she was talking about marginalized groups more generally.

“I’m not even talking about Palestinians,” she said. “I’m talking about communities in poverty in the United States, I’m talking about Latin America, I’m talking about all over the world.”
