Voters sour on Democrats who voted for impeachment

Republicans hope to retake 20 seats to regain House majority

Last month, Democratic lawmakers in 31 districts won by Donald Trump in 2016 were faced with the prospect of losing their seat if they voted to impeach the president.
Now, a survey released Monday has given the first indication that the Democrats' worst fears may come true.
A majority of likely voters surveyed in three of the congressional swing districts said their view of their representative grew more unfavorable after the impeachment vote,
Breitbart News reported.
The American Action Network poll, conducted by NMB Research on Dec. 18 and 19, surveyed likely voters in the districts of Reps. Anthony Brindisi, D-N.Y., Xochitl Torres Small, D-N.M., and Joe Cunningham, D-S.C.

All three seats were flipped in the 2018 elections from Republican to Democrat.
Republicans hope this fall to retake some 20 congressional seats to regain the House majority.
The three Democrats voted for both articles of impeachment against President Trump, charging that the president abused the office of the presidency and obstructed Congress.
The AAN survey found 53% of Brindisi's constituents had a less favorable view of him after they learned he voted for impeachment. Just 34% hadve a more favorable opinion after his vote.
In Cunningham's district, 47% had a more negative impression, compared to 38 percent who had a more favorable view.
In Small's New Mexico district, 52% had a less favorable view of the Congress member while only 36% viewed her in a more positive light.
A majority of the likely voters surveyed across the three districts also agreed that Democrats should let the voters decide who should be the president rather than the impeachment process.
The voters want the Democrats to focus on passing legislation and called impeachment a "political charade," the survey found.

Colin Kaepernick slams US attacks against ‘Black and Brown people’ in wake of Soleimani killing

Former NFL quarterback-turned-activist Colin Kaepernick tweetedthat a U.S. airstrike that killed Iranian General Qassem Soleimani and an Iraqi militia leader was an act of “American terrorism” that was done to further “American imperialism,” the Washington Examiner reported Saturday.
Kaepernick made his name being critical of the United States, spurring a movement that led many professional athletes to kneel before the American flag while the national anthem was played, citing perceived injustices committed by the government and law enforcement against racial and other minorities.

He followed up his initial allegation with a second incendiary tweet:

Apparently, it’s not oppressive to be the mastermind behind the killingof 600 American soldiers and the injuring of thousands more, as Gen. Soleimani was during the years in which U.S. forces occupied Iraq, according to the Daily Mail. The person who did that is not a terrorist, according to Kaepernick.
But somehow, when our president says enough is enough and takes out the individual responsible for the death of an American contractor on Dec. 27 and the recent attack on the U.S. embassy in Iraq, terrorism is a fitting description. Is he serious?

Maybe, just maybe, Kaepernick was feeling a need for more attention from the American media establishment, which generally seems to fawn over his every word, no matter how idiotic it may be.

NFL flop

Notably, despite his professed desire for a contract, Kaepernick has not been offered any work in the NFL since being benched by the 49ers after six seasons as a quarterback.
He has claimed that his political views and anthem protests caused teams to discriminate against him, and he sued the NFL in 2017 for allegedly colluding to prevent him from getting a job in the league, according to USA Today. The case, which also included Eric Reid, a former teammate of Kaepernick’s who also engaged in on-field protests, ultimately settled for an amount reported to be under $10 million.
Detractors have said, however, that Kaepernick was dropped because he simply wasn’t performing on the field, not as a result of his controversial beliefs.
In 2019, Kaepernick announced that he would hold an NFL-sanctioned workout in front of interested league scouts, but he changed the venue at the last second, and representatives from only a few teams were ultimately able to attend. None offered him a position or even a tryout following the bizarre spectacle.
Yahoo Sports seems to think that Kaepernick may have finally given up on the NFL and has now turned his full attention to political activism with these recent comments. It looks like we can expect more of this drivel from Kaepernick in the future.

Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.), chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee, issued an ultimatum to House Speaker Nancy Pelosi on Sunday.
“If we don’t get the articles this week, then we need to take matters in our own hands and change the rules,” Graham told Maria Bartiromo on Fox News’ “Sunday Morning Futures.”
Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) acknowledged last week that Pelosi’s refusal to send the approved articles of impeachment to the Senate prevents the upper chamber from holding the impeachment trial that the Constitution mandates. But Graham said a rule change could usurp Pelosi’s political maneuvering.
“My goal is to start this trial in the next coming days, not let Nancy Pelosi take over the Senate,” Graham said.
The South Carolina lawmaker went on to accuse Pelosi of engaging in a “political stunt,” calling her refusal to send the articles of impeachment to the Senate “dangerous.”
“Well, we’re not going to let Nancy Pelosi use the rules of the Senate to her advantage. This is dangerous to the presidency as an institution,” Graham said, according to Fox News. “They impeached the president, but the speaker of the House is holding the articles back, trying to extort from the majority leader of the Senate a trial to her liking. They’re trying to hold these articles over the head of the president.”

  4. Congress’s oversight of anything is out of control. The liberal Democrats are so upset (hate) at Trump that they are blind and can not govern in a unbiased manner. It could become dangerous to our personal safety.

  5. The Senate needs to have the Articles of Impeachment as per the U.S. Constitution. If the SENATE does not receive the articles of Impeachment, then they need to be declared NULL and Void. Nancy Pelosi needs to quit “hitting the sauce” and do her job, or be removed from CONGRESS, ASAP. ALL the Democrats responsible for this impeachment SHAM (illegal COUP) need to be indicted for TREASON as per the U.S. Constitution, Section 3 article 3.Team Trump and his allies 2020.

I think that most Dem.& Republican people that are against our President trying to solve some of the major murder problems of the citizens of the U.S.A.& the world that our Congress and Senators could at least try not to apologize to the terriost for one of the worst ones death. In the long run a few more should have the same fate.
