Court Stops Hospital From Yanking 11-Month-Old Baby’s Life Support Over Mother’s Objection

STATE   MARY MARGARET OLOHAN   JAN 6, 2020   |   5:02PM    FORT WORTH, TEXAS
A court granted an order Friday preventing a Texas hospital from removing baby Tinslee Lewis from life support until the court makes a final ruling in the case.
The Second Court of Appeals in Fort Worth, Texas, granted the baby emergency relief and ordered Cook Children’s Medical Center not to remove Tinslee from life support until the court makes a final ruling in the case. The court delayed a Thursday ruling by Tarrant County Judge Sandee Marion that the medical center can take the baby off life supportagainst her family’s wishes.
The court has not set the date of the appeal. Marion also denied a request by the baby’s mother, Trinity Lewis, to issue an injunction preventing the hospital from taking Tinslee off life support.
The decision means more time for Tinslee, the pro-life group Texas Right to Life told The Daily Caller News Foundation.
“Texas Right to Life is thankful that the court granted this emergency relief for Tinslee,” spokeswoman Kim Schwartz told The Daily Caller News Foundation. “It’s a prayer answered. This decision means more time for Tinslee. We don’t know how much time yet; that will be decided by the court, but it will be at least until the appeal is heard.”
Tinslee was born in February 2019 with severe medical problems and has been on life support in Cook Children’s Medical Center in Fort Worth since July, the Fort Worth Star-Telegram reported. Officials at the hospital say the baby is in pain and that there is nothing to be done for her, but the family disagrees. Tinslee suffers from a rare heart defect called Ebstein anomaly as well as chronic lung disease and severe chronic pulmonary hypertension. She has gone through several complicated surgeries.
“I want to be the one to make the decision for her,” Trinity Lewis said at a hearing in December. The Texas Right to Life spokeswoman, Schwartz, also told The Daily Caller News Foundation that “Tinslee is not in immediate danger of death.”

“I am heartbroken over today’s decision because the judge basically said Tinslee’s life is NOT worth living,” Trinity Lewis said in a statement after the Thursday ruling. “I feel frustrated because anyone in that courtroom would want more time just like I do if Tinslee were their baby. I hope that we can keep fighting through an appeal to protect Tinslee. She deserves the right to live. Please keep praying for Tinslee and thank you for supporting us during this difficult time.”
Texas Gov. Greg Abbott and Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton, both Republicans, have called the situation “complex and heartbreaking” and promised Thursday to “continue to support” the family’s fight.
“The State of Texas is fully prepared to continue its support of Ms. Lewis in the Supreme Court if necessary,” Abbott and Paxton said in a Thursday statement. “We are working diligently to do all we can to ensure that Tinslee and her family are provided the care and support that they seek.”

Pregnant Actress Shouts Her Abortion at Golden Globes, Hollywood Elites Go Wild With Applause

NATIONAL   ALEXA MOUTEVELIS   JAN 6, 2020   |   3:09PM    WASHINGTON, DC
After host Ricky Gervais admonished the Golden Globes winners Sunday night not to bring up politics in their acceptance speeches because they “know nothing about the real world,” actress Michelle Williams did just that with a two minute long screed supporting abortion while accepting the award for Best Actress in a Limited Series or Motion Picture Made for TV.
Williams, who, ironically, is pregnant, started out talking about choices in acting before transitioning to bodily choice, then seemingly admitted to her own abortion when she said she “wouldn’t have been able to do this without employing a woman’s right to choose.” She then encouraged women to vote “in your own self-interest” instead of selflessly voting to protect the innocent life of others because “it’s what men have been doing for years.”
Keep up with the latest pro-life news and information on Twitter.
WILLIAMS: Thank you so much first of all, to my “Fosse/Verdon” family and the Hollywood press association. When you put this in someone’s hands, you acknowledging the choices made by the actor but also the choices they made as a person, the training they sought, the hours they put in. I’m grateful for the acknowledgement of the choices I’ve made and I’m also grateful to have lived in a moment in our society where choice exists, because as women and as girls, things can happen to our bodies that are not our choice. I’ve tried my very best to live a life of my own making, not just a series of events that happened to me but one that I could stand back and look at and recognize my handwriting all over, sometimes messy and scrawling, sometimes careful and precise, but one that I carved with my own hand I wouldn’t have been able to do this without employing a woman’s right to choose. [ Cheers and applause ] to choose when to have my children, and with whom. When I felt supported and able to balance our lives knowing as all mothers know that the scales must and will tip towards our children now, I know my choices might look different than yours. But thank god or whomever you pray to that we live in a country founded on the principle that I am free to live by my faith and you are free to live by yours so, women, 18 to 118, when it is time to voter please do so in your own self-interest it’s what men have been doing for years. [ Cheers and applause ]it’s what men have been doing for years, which is why the world looks so much like them. But don’t forget, we are the largest voting body in this country. Let’s make it look more like us. I can’t wait to come home to you. [ Applause ] ♪♪
HADDISH: How about that women’s choice mm-hmm
Actress Busy Philipps, who shouted her abortion to rail against the Georgia heartbeat bill, was shown wiping tears away while Williams spoke and award presenter Tiffany Haddish could be heard shouting, “Preach!” and offered up huge applause afterwards.
Williams will be starring in a pro-abortion film titled This Is Jane about an underground network responsible for thousands of U.S. illegal abortions in the ’60s and ’70s so she also has a financial incentive to promote abortion.

Planned Parenthood Killed 345,672 Babies Last Year in Abortions and Made $1.6 Billion

 NATIONAL   RANDALL O'BANNON PH.D.   JAN 6, 2020   |   7:09PM    WASHINGTON, DC
Planned Parenthood may have closed a few clinics, experienced a major upheaval in top management, and even seen its revenues dip ever so slightly. But that hasn’t stopped the abortion giant from performing a record number of abortions and continuing to grab an ever increasing share of the U.S. abortion market.
In its just published 2018-2019 Annual Report, Planned Parenthood reports performing 345,672 abortions for 2018, the most the organization has ever reported.
That figure represents 40.1% of all the abortions the Guttmacher Institute says were performed in the U.S. in 2017 (the most recent year available). This continues to cement Planned Parenthood’s reputation as the country’s top abortion performer and promoter.
Closing Clinics, Yet More Abortions
Planned Parenthood doesn’t share exactly how many clinics it currently has, writing only they have “more than 600 health centers across the country.” That exactly the same phrasing that they used in last year’s report, though we know there were nearly 900 centers as recently as 2010.
Obviously, a large number of clinics have closed (for example, two recently closed in Ohio, according to ABC News, 9/9/19). However, Planned Parenthood has made sure to keep its abortion business humming, building giant new regional mega-clinics to pick up and possibly expand on the caseloads formerly going to the now closed centers.
The latest mega-clinic opened in Fairview Heights, Illinois in October of 2019. The stated intent here was to pick up abortion patients who could no longer visit Planned Parenthood clinics in Missouri. Though the media, egged on by Planned Parenthood’s relentless hype machine, thought this was some new sort of development, it was only the latest in a long line of mega-clinics the organization has been opening all across the United States (Houston, Denver, Chicago, Queens, NY, Washington, DC, New Orleans, Portland, OR, St. Paul, MN, etc.) for at least the past decade and a half.
Other Non-Abortion Health Services Decline
Interestingly enough, while the expansion of these centers has been accompanied by an increase in the number of abortions, that’s not been the case in the provision of other key Planned Parenthood services. Contraception, Planned Parenthood’s signature product, continued to decline for the sixth year in a row. At 2,556,413 in 2018, birth control services are down nearly 36% of what they were just twelve years earlier.
Every time someone challenges their mission or (especially) funding, Planned Parenthood likes to talk about all the lives they potentially save providing cancer screenings. But the number of those services have fallen every year since at least 2005.
At one time, over two million a year (2,011,637 in 2005), all Planned Parenthood’s “cancer screenings and prevention” services barely totaled half a million (566,186) in 2018. This represents a whopping fall of more than 71.8% in just 14 years!
And those are just simple things such Pap smears and manual breast exams. Despite what you may have heard, Planned Parenthood does not and has never provided mammograms.
They’ve Got Plenty of Money
It isn’t as if Planned Parenthood lacks the money to buy a few mammogram machines. Revenues this year were down just a hair, from $1,665,100,000 for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2018 to $1,638,600,000 for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2019.
“Government Health Services Grants Reimbursements & Grants” were up $53 million during that same period, from$563.8 million to $616.8 million. “Non-Government Health Services Revenue increased from $365.7 million to $369.6 million.
Private donations were very high, but appear to have flagged a bit from last year’s record. After reaching $630.8 million in 2018 with their latest “sky is falling” campaign, they fell back to “just” $591.3 million for FY 2019.
Planned Parenthood Won’t Say Wen
How much of this is a result of tumult at the top of the organization’s administration is unknown. Leana Wen, a medical doctor who, with great fanfare, took over as head of Planned Parenthood in September of 2018, was ousted by the board of directors in July of 2019 after less than a year on the job.
Wen was as committed to abortion as anyone, but made the “mistake” of seeing it as part of a broader health care mission. When she made clear that she didn’t see abortion as the be all, end all of Planned Parenthood’s existence, she and Planned Parenthood parted ways over “philosophical differences.” Wen wrote in the New York Times 7/19/19, “I believe abortion is about health care, not politics. Many of my colleagues disagreed.”
Wen somehow manages to go unmentioned in this latest report.
Planned Parenthood installed Alexis McGill Johnson, a reliable abortion advocate, as “Acting President and CEO” and kept the abortion mills humming. No official word on when or if the acting president will be replaced.
Abortion as the Clear Theme
The organization’s latest annual report makes it plain that Planned Parenthood continues to be all about abortion, in more ways than one. The record number of abortions speak for themselves, as do the declining figures for genuine health care services.
In the report, PPFA trumpets their legal and political successes in opposing “abortion bans.” They celebrate “technology” allowing them to perform webcam abortions in 16 states and research on these abortions and other topics they were able to get published in national medical journals.
They talk about their work promoting “sexual and reproductive services” and “reproductive rights” around the world and among ethnic minorities in the United States, “organizing and mobilizing” on college campuses and rallying against the nomination of Justice Brett Kavanaugh.
In addition to stopping or delaying pro-life legislation they didn’t like in Florida, West Virginia, South Carolina, Kansas, Montana, Missouri, Wisconsin and North Carolina, Planned Parenthood expressed pride in being able to enable “proactive legislation to protect and expand access to safe and legal abortion” in Hawaii, Illinois, Maine, Nevada, New York, Rhode Island, and Washington state.
Planned Parenthood says that its doctors, educators and activist wake up each day with one mission: Care, No Matter What.
When it comes to the lives of tender, innocent, precious unborn children, however, this report makes is clear, once again, that Planned Parenthood “Doesn’t Care” – “No Matter What.”

Abortion Facility That Kills Babies Up to 24-Weeks-Old is Months Away From Closing Down

Abortion Facility That Kills Babies Up to 24-Weeks-Old is Months Away From Closing Down

STATE   MICAIAH BILGER   JAN 6, 2020   |   6:09PM    BOSTON, MASSACHUSETTS
Hospitals today are saving premature babies born at just 22 weeks of pregnancy. But in many states, aborting unborn babies is still legal for any reason up to 24 weeks. In some states, it’s even later.
In Massachusetts, Women’s Health Services in Brookline is the only abortion business in the state that aborts unborn babies up to the state’s 24-week cutoff, but it is struggling financially and could close soon, according to the Boston Globe.
Laurent “Lolly” Delli-Bovi, its medical director, recently began an online fundraiser to “save” the late-term abortion business. If she does not raise at least $250,000 within the next three months, she said the abortion business will close.
According to the report, Delli-Bovi runs the third busiest abortion facility in the state and the only non-hospital that aborts unborn babies up to 24 weeks. Currently, 25 facilities provide abortions in Massachusetts; in many cases, abortions are taxpayer-funded through Medicaid.
Though abortion activists like to blame government funding cuts and pro-life legislative efforts for abortion clinic closures, they cannot do so in this case. Massachusetts lawmakers are trying to expand abortions through a new pro-abortion bill, and the report makes it clear that taxpayer funding is not the problem either.
According to the report: “The crisis at Women’s Health Services does not stem directly from a cut to government funding, but from the failure to win a grant of several hundred thousand dollars it had requested for debt relief from the National Abortion Federation, Delli-Bovi said.”
Her abortion facility is a business, not a nonprofit, and it is losing money. Delli-Bovi said they have been losing money for the past 13 years, at about $170,000 a year.

“We’re not set up as a nonprofit, but we’ve been utterly unprofitable since 2006,” she said.
She said they charge about $700 for an abortion in the first trimester and up to $3,000 for an abortion as late as 24 weeks.
Unborn babies are unique, living human beings from the moment of conception. By 24 weeks, they are viable outside the womb. Research indicates viability now is about 22 weeks, thanks to modern medicine.
But while the “struggles” of abortion businesses make headlines and draw sympathy from political leaders and billionaires, the real struggles of unborn babies remain widely ignored. Every year, nearly 1 million unborn babies are legally killed by the billion-dollar abortion industry in America. Since Roe v. Wade, their deaths have climbed to about 61 million.
The good news is that abortion numbers are dropping and abortion facilities are closing at a record pace, including 36 in 2019. With modern ultrasound imaging, advances in premature infant care, prenatal surgery and studies of babies in the womb comes the realization that abortion is not merely a woman’s “right to choose.” It is the killing of a unique, living, irreplaceable human being who deserves a right to life.
