A Facebook video of a cheerful Chick-fil-A employee has gone viral and is receiving nationwide attention thanks to the worker’s constant smile and upbeat attitude.
Jeremiah Murrill, who works at a Chick-fil-A in Wilmington, N.C., was filmed by a regular customer in the drive-thru taking her order. She posted it on Facebook, and it subsequently passed 500,000 views within three weeks.
WWAY-TV in Wilmington interviewed him for a story, which was picked up by CNN.
Always wearing a big smile, the joyful Murrill fills his conversations with words like “awesome” and “amazing” and phrases like “yes ma'am” and “yes sir.”
Each time the customer in the video lists a food choice, he keys it in and asks through a smile, “How else may I serve you?”
“Luv this young man he [is] like this ALL the time … A1 services all day everyday (sic),” wrote Toya Liles, who asked Murrill if she could film the exchange.
“You guys are awesome!” he says. “Thanks so much for choosing Chick-fil-A.”
He told WWAY he eventually wants to own his own Chick-fil-A franchise while “incorporating ministry and music.”
“Your actions, your behavior, or the way you say something – the way you interact with people – it matters. It transforms a day” Murrill said. “I serve a lot of guests. I try to remember each and every name in the drive-thru. That’s just a personal thing for me.”
Local customers who have interacted with Murrill said he deserves the attention.
“I used to work down the street from that location and if I was ever having a bad day and drove thru he always put a smile on my face!” one person wrote in the comments below the Facebook video.
Another wrote, “Why of course he works at Chick-Fil-A, they have the friendliest employees. This world would be a much better place with more people like Jeremiah. Keep up that awesome attitude!”
