Vermont House Passes Amendment to Create “Right” to Kill Babies in Abortions

The Vermont House gave final approval Tuesday to a state constitutional amendment that would keep abortion on demand legal even if Roe v. Wade is overturned.

The Washington Post reports the lawmakers voted 107-41 in favor of the pro-abortion amendment, Proposal 5, despite Republican lawmakers’ warnings about dire consequences for human life.

In November, a majority of voters also must approve Proposal 5 on the ballot for it to be added to the state constitution.

Before the vote Tuesday, state Rep. Anne Donahue, R-Northfield, spoke out against the amendment, pointing to other bad U.S. Supreme Court rulings on eugenics and segregation, according to the report.

“We as human beings have made a lot of mistakes at times when we thought we were doing the right thing,” Donahue said. “When we start putting a current belief in the constitution, I think we’re playing with fire.”

She said individuals should be allowed to control their reproductive decisions, but “once biological reproduction has occurred,” another life also is involved.

Other pro-life lawmakers expressed concerns that the language in the amendment is so broad that it would prevent the state from ever enacting any protections for unborn babies.

The proposed amendment states: “That an individual’s right to personal reproductive autonomy is central to the liberty and dignity to determine one’s own life course and shall not be denied or infringed unless justified by a compelling State interest achieved by the least restrictive means.”

Basically, abortion activists want to keep unlimited, unregulated abortions for any reason up to birth legal in Vermont even if Roe is overturned, according to the Vermont Right to Life Committee.

“… Proposal 5 is reckless and irresponsible, dangerous and expensive as well as morally and ethically wrong,” the pro-life organization said. “The lives of countless unborn babies will be placed at further risk of abortion if Proposal 5 is adopted.”

However, pro-abortion lawmakers argued that the amendment is an important safeguard for abortion because the U.S. Supreme Court may overturn Roe v. Wade later this year.

State Rep. Ann Pugh, D-South Burlington, said abortion supporters cannot rely on the courts anymore to uphold “fundamental reproductive rights.”

“While the right to reproductive autonomy, and abortion care, remains for the time being a fundamental right at the national level, it has been and continues to be under serious attack,” Pugh said, the AP reports. “In this turbulent time clarity is called for.”

But pro-life lawmakers said the amendment could strip away all legal protections from unborn babies right up to birth.

Here’s more from the AP:

Republican state Rep. Carl Rosenquist, R-Georgia, said the proposal as written could make it unconstitutional for Vermont lawmakers to pass any kind of legislation that would “protect or preserve an infant’s life prior to full term.”‘

“This is not who we are,” Rosenquist said during the debate that lasted just under one hour and 45 minutes. “We do not give greater freedom of expression and life to one group of people at the expense of others in our society. And yet, that is exactly what we were doing by passing Prop five.”

A spokesperson for Planned Parenthood’s Vermont lobbying arm said they hope the amendment will become a “model” for other states.

For nearly 50 years, Roe v. Wade has allowed unique, living unborn babies to be killed for basically any reason up to birth. Since 1973, more than 63 million unborn babies have been aborted and countless mothers and fathers have suffered.

In December, however, the Supreme Court heard a major abortion challenge out of Mississippi, Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health, that could overturn Roe and allow states to protect unborn babies again. A ruling is expected in June.

The Guttmacher Institute predicts that 26 states would ban abortions if Roe is overturned, and hundreds of thousands of unborn babies’ lives would be saved, according to an amicus brief by researchers and economists.

Polls consistently show that a strong majority of Americans oppose late-term abortions and do not want their tax dollars to pay for abortions.

I have to ask, did Democrats make a deal with the Devil? Are these children sacrifices to him to keep them, The Democrats in Power for ever? Does Joe Biden & his family get 10% cut from the Abortion business for being the Democrat President? Speculation, yes. however it does make one wonder?

Planned Parenthood is Expanding Its Abortion Businesses to Kill Even More Babies in Abortions

Instead of shifting focus to provide real help to pregnant mothers in need, the abortion industry is preparing for an end to Roe v. Wade by working to expand its deadly business in the states where abortions likely will remain legal.

Both pro-life and pro-abortion activists believe the U.S. Supreme Court may weaken or overturn Roe this summer when it rules on the Mississippi case Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health. If that happens, approximately half the country may protect unborn babies by banning abortions.

To keep their abortion business flowing, abortion facilities are turning to states like California and New York where abortions almost certainly will remain legal and unrestricted, according to Reuters.

Already, Planned Parenthood, a billion-dollar abortion chain that does more than one third of all abortions in the U.S., is working to expand several of its facilities in California and build a new one in Reno, Nevada, the report states.

Earlier this year, it also partnered with another abortion business to establish a new logistics center in Illinois that makes abortion appointments, travel and other arrangements for women coming from other states.

“We are getting ready for this post-Roe world and getting ready to continue to be the safety net for patients from all over the country,” said Jessica Hamilton, an abortionist at a Planned Parenthood in Sacramento.

Other abortion groups told Reuters that they also plan to increase their abortion work in Minnesota, New York and Virginia.

Amy Hagstrom Miller, CEO of the Texas-based abortion chain Whole Woman’s Health, said they hope to expand in Minnesota soon, and they just opened a new telemed abortion office in New Mexico for women across the border in Texas, according to the report.

Texas bans abortions once an unborn baby’s heartbeat is detectable, about six weeks of pregnancy. While some mothers are traveling to other states for abortions, many others are choosing life and finding support at local pregnancy centers, maternity homes and other pro-life charities. Since September, the Texas law has saved thousands of babies’ lives, cutting severely into abortion businesses’ profits.

“Texas is having a dress rehearsal for what we can expect across the country as Roe is either overturned or further chipped away at,” Hagstrom Miller told the news outlet.

Pro-life advocates also are busy preparing for an end to Roe, working to pass pro-life laws that protect unborn babies and increase support services for struggling women and families.

Right now, pro-lifers in Visalia, California are trying to stop the Planned Parenthood abortion chain from expanding in their community. According to Reuters, “Since the city’s planning commission approved a larger site for the clinic in December, abortion opponents have called for protesters to speak out against the project when the city council considers it at a meeting next month.”

This aggressive new drive to expand abortion shows that the abortion industry’s true goals are not to help women in need. Many women come to abortion facilities in desperation because of financial or family struggles, none of which abortion solves. The abortion industry’s goal is to sell abortions, not help solve real problems like poverty, access to basic health care, maternal and infant mortality, and healthy relationships.

Overturning Roe will provide a new opportunity for society to recognize that aborting an unborn baby is not a solution to poverty, relationship problems or abuse. Women deserve true support in these situations, and their unborn babies are second members of the family who equally deserve society’s compassion and support.

Does Joe Biden get 10% cut of this to? Just wondering

Christian Doctor Fights Medical Board’s Decision to Suspend Him for 18 Months for Saving Babies From Abortion

A British medical doctor who was suspended for saving unborn babies from abortion is appealing his case in court this month.

Christian Today reports Dr. Dermot Kearney wants to be allowed to provide the abortion pill reversal treatment again to women who are desperate to save their unborn babies’ lives.

On Feb. 24, he and his lawyers with the Christian Legal Centre are slated to appear before the Royal Courts of Justice to appeal his medical suspension, according to the report.

“Women who immediately regret taking the first abortion pill and who urgently need support to try and save the pregnancy are being denied access to care due to this ban,” said Andrea Williams, chief executive of the Christian Legal Centre.

The treatment has saved more than 3,000 unborn babies’ lives across the world, including 32 whose mothers were cared for by Kearney, according to his lawyers.

Research shows that the abortion pill reversal is safe and effective for both mother and child. However, pro-abortion groups are trying to discredit it with baseless claims about the treatment being unproven and dangerous.

Prompted by pro-abortion groups’ misinformation, last year, the United Kingdom Medical Practitioners Tribunal Service suspended Kearney, a former president of the Catholic Medical Association, from providing the life-saving treatment for 18 months, and the General Medical Council launched an investigation into his medical practice.

His lawyers said pro-life organizations have seen a “spike” in requests for the abortion pill reversal treatment after the British government began allowing abortion pills to be sent through the mail in 2020, according to the report.

Williams said Kearney should be allowed to help pregnant mothers who regret their abortions and want the abortion pill reversal treatment.

“Many women feel unbelievably grateful to Dr Kearney for helping them to save their babies,” she said. “Even where the babies were not saved, or where they decided to decline the progesterone treatment, they feel that he has cared for them and helped them when they most needed it. He steps into the breach where the abortion providers are manifestly failing.”

Williams questioned the true motives behind Kearney’s suspension, saying: “In any other area of medicine, treatment would be stopped if consent was withdrawn. Is ideology and the vested interests of abortion providers in the UK getting in the way of the woman’s right to choose?”

The abortion pill reversal treatment works by counteracting the abortion drug mifepristone, the first of two drugs typically taken to abort an unborn baby. Mifepristone makes the uterus inhospitable to new life by blocking the hormone progesterone. The reversal procedure involves giving the mother doses of progesterone to counteract the abortion drug. The abortion pill reversal procedure does not work after the mother takes the second drug, misoprostol, one or two days later.

According to the American Association of Pro-Life OB-GYNs, the abortion pill reversal works very similarly to a hormonal treatment that has been used for decades to help prevent miscarriages.

Research indicates the treatment is safe and effective. One study found that nearly 70 percent of women who underwent the treatment were able to reverse the effects of the abortion drug and save their babies’ lives. The study did not find any increased risks of complications or birth defects.

Anyone who has taken the first abortion pill and wishes to stop the abortion is urged to immediately visit www.abortionpillreversal.com or call the Abortion Pill Reversal hotline at 877-558-0333.
