The First take: We're old enough to remember when the ladies on The View were outraged that Ron DeSantis sent 50 illegals to Martha's Vineyard, calling it "abuse" and a "political stunt." What do you call this other than child abuse?
The First take: Mr. Trump was speaking to a Spanish media outlet when he made these comments. For more details on the Pelosi attack, read the "Bonus" below.

Independent voters have undertaken a massive 18-point shift toward Republicans on the generic ballot ahead of the 2022 midterm elections.
It is yet another indication that Republicans are going to have a very good night on Election Night this year.
the latest poll comes from a CBS/YouGov survey from October 12 to 14, in which Independents said they preferred generic congressional Democrat candidates over Republican ones by 40 percent to 38 percent. But, two weeks later, that made a quick switch with Independents favoring Republicans by 49 percent to Democrats at only 33 percent.
That means independent voters are beginning to make up their minds as Election Day nears and they are landing more with GOP candidates.
The prospect of Republican victories in both the House and Senate is increasingly growing as likely voters say they are more concerned about issues such as the economy and inflation, which they tend to trust Republican candidates more to handle than Democrat candidates.
Furthermore, while Democrats have increased their campaign messaging to focus on abortion, only five percent of voters say that it is the most important problem facing the nation today, according to a mid-October New York Times/Sienna poll. In comparison, Republicans have focused their messaging on the nation’s suffering economy and high inflation, which a plurality of voters say is the most important issue to them.
Other surveys are also finding that the GOP has an advantage with results ranging from a four-point to a ten-point lead.
Don’t get complacent, though. If you want this red wave to materialize, GO VOTE!
Skyscraper-sized asteroid to pass Earth this week. Here's how close it will actually get
HAADIZA OGWUDE AND ORLANDO MAYORQUIN
A "potentially hazardous" asteroid, almost the size of the world's tallest skyscraper, will pass Earth this week.
Live Science reports that the asteroid, called 2022 RM4, has an estimated diameter of 1,083-2,428 feet or 330-740 meters, just under Dubai's 2,716-foot-tall Burj Khalifa, the tallest building in the world. The asteroid will barely pass our planet at around 52,500 mph, roughly 68 times the speed of sound.
The actual distance between Earth and the asteroid is six times the Earth's distance from the moon, Forbes reports, which is very close by cosmic standards. The asteroid will approximately come within 1.43 million miles of Earth when it reaches its closest approach on Nov. 1.
Astronomers at the Panoramic Survey Telescope and Rapid Response System in Haleakala, Hawaii, discovered the 2022 RM4 on Sept. 12, according to Forbes. NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory classes it as a near-Earth object, an Apollo-type object and a potentially hazardous asteroid.
Asteroids within this classification have orbits larger than Earth’s around the sun, and their paths cross Earth’s path. 2022 RM4 orbits the sun every 1,397 days, and its path occasionally crosses Earth’s orbital path around the sun.
The asteroid will get close enough and be large enough for astronomers to photograph it using telescopes.
Is an asteroid going to hit earth?
No. NASA has estimated the trajectories of all the near-Earth objects for the next 100 years and has determined that the planet faces no known danger from an apocalyptic asteroid collision.
What is considered a near-Earth object?
Near-Earth objects are comets and asteroids that are within 1.3 AU (120.9 million miles) of Earth, according to NASA. An asteroid is considered potentially hazardous if it comes within 4.65 million miles of Earth and is larger than 500 feet in diameter, NASA says.
