Gary Varvel: The status of Anti-Trump Resistance 2.0New Humor Me cartoon, a devotional and paid subscribers get an archive cartoon
The Democrats have gone mad. Their Resistance 2.0 to President Trump’s successes is insane. Democrats’ playbook must say, “Blame everything on Trump” because now they are blaming the Texas flood disaster on Trump’s cuts in government. The New York Post has the truth here. Now Democrats are faced with their crazy leftist base “demanding that Democrat members of Congress “break the rules, fight dirty” and even resort to violence to stop President Trump from implementing his agenda,” according to American Greatness’ Debra Heine. Look, the Dems are losing the political debate because their ideas are bankrupt. They tried to convince American voters that big government, high taxes, more regulation, more spending, men playing women’s sports and open borders for millions of illegal aliens was good for America. Voters disagreed. So now, Dems are resorting to violence. The truth is, their scare tactics have been wrong. Just look at this short list:
Do not be deceived by those who tell lies. Instead, look at the facts. The only comfort after the Texas flood is knowing that the girls who lost their life at Mystic Camp have eternal life with Jesus Christ in paradise today. Pray for the families of the victims that they will be comforted in their grief. I drew Richard "Dick" Eastland (on left), the camp director and co-owner, is being remembered as a hero after reportedly rushing to save as many campers as he could before his death.
DEVOTIONAL“But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.” - Matthew 6:33. If you wrote down what you did with your time this week, would God be there? In 1984, my job required me to be at work at 6 am. So I started a habit getting up at 4:30 each morning to spend time with the Word of God and pray. I was amazed at how many times something I read that morning would be applicable that afternoon. In Charles E. Hummel’s book, Tyranny of the Urgent, he wrote, “The root of all sin is self-sufficiency—independence from the rule of God. When we fail to wait prayerfully for God’s guidance and strength, we are saying with our actions, if not with our words, that we do not need Him.” Listen, God knows what you and I need and if we just seek Him first and His righteousness, God promises to meet our needs. Remember that Jesus arose before dawn to be alone with God. Shouldn’t we follow His example? BE SURE TO LIKE AND SHARE. HELP ME REACH OTHERSRIGHT VIEWSThe Federalist - Margot Cleveland: CIA review reveals Obama pushed intel community to launch Trump-Russia witch hunt. While Brennan, Clapper, and Comey all rightly deserve condemnation, Obama launched the plot and as president he holds greater responsibility for politicizing the intelligence community against his successor. Townhall - Arthur Schaper: What’s beautiful about the Big Beautiful Bill. (Personal note: You’ve heard the Dems crying about how BBB is going to kill people. This is an excellent summary about the good stuff in the bill. FYI: It defunds baby death camps, I mean, Planned Parenthood. Praise the Lord). American Greatness - Debra Heine: Biden claims European leaders, Dems and Republicans are calling him as Trump unravels his ‘accomplishments.’ Townhall - Matt Vespa: Charlie Kirk got an interesting call before Trump signed the Reconciliation Package. It wasn't good. HUMOR MEHUMOR ME: Fix my cartoon with a snarky remark. Email your entries to gary@garyvarvel.com. Winners announced in Friday’s newsletter for paid subscribers.
