As Israel continued to strike Iranian nuclear facilities and military targets this week, the Tehran regime indiscriminately battered Israeli cities with a series of ballistic missile barrages, killing two dozen civilians, and Jewish communities around the worldstepped up vigilancefor potential attacks by Iran and its global terrorist proxies.
Exacerbating the threat, pro-Iran demonstrators in cities including New York City, Washington, D.C., Montreal, London, Paris, and Berlin, among others,featuredblatant antisemitic rhetoric and incitement to violence against Jews.
Attacks, Vandalism, Threats: Antisemitic Hate Proliferates Globally
This week, the Antisemitism Research Center (ARC) by CAM recorded numerous incidents that underscored the relentless threats facing the Jewish people worldwide:
Massachusetts: A kosher grocery store in Brookline, one of the Boston area’s most prominent Jewish neighborhood, wastargetedby vandals who hurled a brick with the words "Free Palestine" scrawled on it through the front window.
Florida: A Florida man was federally indicted forsendinga series of antisemitic and threatening text messages to a Jewish individual in Maryland over the span of nine months.
Moldova: Vandalsdefacedmore than 50 Jewish gravestones with swastikas and Nazi symbols in Chisinau, the Moldovan capital.
Canada: TheMontreal JCCannouncedthat Talmud study and evening prayers were canceled at a local Jewish school due to a threat.
The ARC recorded 157 incidents in total this week - a 37.7% increase from the 114 recorded last week.
Meanwhile, in New York City, Democratic mayoral candidate Zohran Mamdani defended the "Globalize the Intifada" hate slogan in a podcast interview.
Mamdani’s remarks drew widespread criticism, including from theU.S. Holocaust Museum, and CAMstated, "The Jews of New York City deserve a mayor who will protect them, rather than legitimize antisemitic incitement to violence."
This week's Global Antisemitism Report highlights 157 new incidents of antisemitism monitored worldwide during the past week.
