Disney’s CEO was stunned when a woke actress made this scary accusation

OCT 11, 2024

Disney’s CEO cannot escape the dark cloud that has been hanging over his head.

The bad news continues to pile up for the entertainment giant with no end in sight.

And Disney’s CEO was stunned when a woke actress made this scary accusation.

Star Wars actress accuses Disney of letting racists attack her

Disney has made injecting LGBTQ politics into its films and movies a bigger priority than making entertaining content that fans would want to watch.

And the company has paid the price at the box office and with its streaming services.

Disney used to be one of the most reliable producers of hits in Hollywood before it went woke.

The Disney+ streaming series The Acolyte was supposed to be the latest big addition to the Star Wars franchise.

But the show made more headlines about its left-wing political agenda than its story and characters.

Series creator Leslye Headland bragged that The Acolyte was the “gayest Star Wars” yet and that the beloved R2-D2 droid was a robot lesbian.

Disney spent $231 on eight episodes for the first season of the show before canceling for terrible ratings.

Actress Jodie Turner-Smith who starred in The Acolyte was named “Woman of the Year” by Glamour magazine.

She accused Disney of not protecting her from racist attacks.

The woke turn on Disney

“The show was unceremoniously canceled, allegedly due to low ratings. [I]n the weeks leading up to its season finale, the cast faced relentless torrents of racist abuse online from so-called fans who couldn’t handle a black actor leading a Star Wars series,” Glamour wrote.

Fans of Star Wars have never had an issue with black characters in the series.

This is a sad deflection from the fact the series outraged fans by turning one of the popular characters from the original movies, RD-D2, into a lesbian.

Turner-Smith whined that she was a victim of racism.

“[Disney has] got to stop doing this thing where they don’t say anything when people are getting f**king dog-piled on the internet with racism and bulls**t,” Turner-Smith ranted. “It’s just not fair to not say anything. It’s really unfair.”

“It would just be nice if the [studios] that have all the money, were showing their support and putting their feet down,” Turner-Smith raved. “Say this is unacceptable: ‘You’re not a fan if you do this.’”

Disney needs every fan it can get at this point as its TV and movie business continues to fail.

“Make a really big statement and just see if any money leaves. I bet you it won’t, because people of color, and especially black people, make up a very large percentage of buying power,” Turner-Smith claimed. “They might find that it’s actually more lucrative for them, but everyone’s using ‘woke’ like it’s a dirty word.”

The Acolyte has few fans now that everyone has already headed for the exits on the show.

Despite what Turner-Smith thinks the series being branded woke caused it to crash before it ever got off the ground.

Jodie Turner-Smith is coping with the painful reality that no one outside of a sociology class at Cal-Berkely is interested in another woke Star Wars.

The cost of tickets is more than doubling but the prizes are growing too

For those who press their luck by buying Mega Millions tickets, prepare to start spending a bit more.

Tickets for the Mega Millions are about to jump from $2 to $5 in April 2025. However, according to the company, along with the price increase, consumers can expect more – including bigger jackpots and more chances to win.

“We are creating a game that both our existing players and people new to Mega Millions will love and get excited about playing,” said Joshua Johnston, Lead Director of the Mega Millions Consortium. “We expect more billion-dollar jackpots than ever before, meaning creating more billionaires and many more millionaires as the jackpots climb, plus this game will continue the important legacy of supporting great causes everywhere Mega Millions is played.”

What will be different?

For consumers, the biggest difference is likely going to be the price tag. The jump from $2 to $5 tickets is a 65% increase.

However, it’s also only the second time the cost of Mega Millions tickets has increased since the current game structure was developed over 20 years ago; the last price hike came in 2017 when tickets went from $1 to $2.

Mega Millions has some new promises in store for consumers:

  • Better odds to win the jackpot

  • Higher jackpots more often

  • Larger starting jackpots

  • Faster growing jackpots

  • A built-in multiplier on every play, automatically improving every non-jackpot win by 2X, 3X, 4X, 5X or 10X – up to $10 million for matching the five white balls

  • No breakeven prizes – players will always win more than the price of the ticket

The company hopes that with more chances to win, and to win more with each ticket, consumers will be more likely to spend a few extra dollars to play. The goal is to attract seasoned Mega Millions players, as well as those who maybe haven’t previously seen any value in playing.

A history of winning

Mega Millions has produced six billion-dollar winners since 2018, including a New Jersey winner who most recently won $1.128 billion on a ticket in March of this year.

The biggest Mega Millions winner? A Florida resident who scored a $1.6 billion win on a ticket in August of 2023.

With the new updates to the Mega Millions, the company is hoping that more consumers across the country can join the billion-dollar winners club.

While the changes aren’t going into effect until April 2025, consumers can still enter to win twice a week. Drawings are pulled every Tuesday and Friday night at 11:00 p.m. ET.
