4 Lessons From Peter on Forgiveness and Grace Peter was recognized as a natural leader. By Lauren McKeithen

For over 2,000 years, many people have recognized Peter as the bold and outspoken apostle of Jesus. As a former fisherman, Jesus called him to become a fisherman of men. In doing so, Peter would drop his nets and, like the others, leave everything behind to follow Jesus. Peter was the one who left the boat to walk with Jesus on the waves, served as an eyewitness to the transfiguration of Jesus, and then denied even knowing Him the night before His crucifixion. To say that Peter was unstable and, at times, unreliable would be an understatement.

However, Peter was recognized as a natural leader by other people, including Jesus. Jesus chose Peter to be His trusted apostle, and he had many faults, but Jesus was transforming and refining this young man into an effective and bold leader, a pillar of the early church, and a living epistle read and known by all men, according to 2 Corinthians 3:2-3. Peter’s failures and flaws were evident, but due to Christ’s mercy and love, Peter’s story would be one of redemption. Here are some lessons from Peter on forgiveness and grace.

Those closest to God are the most broken.

Peter’s denial of his rabbi, friend, and master was possibly one of his greatest failures as one of Jesus’ disciples. It didn’t help that merely hours before, Peter denied knowing Jesus, he’d incessantly professed that he would never deny Him. In his pride, Peter set himself above the other disciples, saying he would never fall away, as detailed in Matthew 26:33. In Luke 22:33, he proclaimed that he was ready for prison and death, which is a bold statement but fits Peter’s bravado. Still, merely hours after Peter made his promise, the surface of Peter’s loyalty and courage came crashing down as his words returned to haunt him.

Accordingly, when Peter realized the extent of his betrayal and denial, the Bible tells us that Peter went and wept bitterly. He knew that he had failed Jesus. In fact, his reaction was similar to an earlier encounter with Jesus, where Peter fell at the feet of Jesus and told Him to go away from him because he was a sinful man. On both occasions, Peter showed that those closest to Jesus are usually the ones who are the most broken over their sins, realizing how unfit they are of God’s goodness. However, throughout His life, Jesus was willing to restore and forgive Peter. Having met the underserved grace of Jesus, Peter would later conclude that God isn’t slow about His promise but is patient toward you. If anyone understood Jesus’ patient mercy, it was Peter.

Peter had to remember who Jesus wanted him to be.

For the majority of his life, Peter was known to his friends, family, coworkers, and neighbors as Simon, a relatively common name at the time and one that was given to him at birth. However, upon first meeting Jesus, Simon was given a new name, as detailed in John 1:42. To remind Simon of what Jesus saw in him and wanted him to become, Jesus sometimes called Simon Peter, a nickname that means “rock.” However, for most of his life, Simon Peter behaved more like Simon than Peter. Early on, he rarely lived up to the name Jesus had given him. Likewise, even those who are forgiven and redeemed typically fail to behave like those who are forgiven and redeemed.

Like Peter, we, too, are battling with our former ambitions and flesh, and like Simon, we sometimes return to our old habits and ways. This is why Paul encouraged believers to put their old selves aside and put their new selves in the forefront, which has been created in holiness and righteousness of the truth, as we read in Ephesians 4:22-24. Like all of us, Peter occasionally needed a reminder of who he was called to be and who he should be in Christ.

Peter had to learn to keep his eyes on Jesus.

Simon Peter’s failures have been thoroughly shown through countless studies, sermons, and devotionals throughout the years. Of course, his denial of Jesus competes for the top spot as the worst moment in his life. However, some have pointed to Peter’s lapse in faith on the Sea of Galilee as equally disappointing. In that story, Peter left the small boat to walk with Jesus on the waves. However, he became frightened when he saw the wind and started to sink, crying out to Jesus to save him, as explained in Matthew 14:30. As He usually did, Jesus reached down and saved His friend. Jesus would rebuke Peter for his doubt, but in moments like these, Jesus was molding Peter into the leader and shepherd He wanted him to be.

As someone who’d fallen beneath waves of doubt and fear yet been redeemed and rescued on more than one occasion, Peter was equipped to preach on the importance of keeping one’s eyes on Jesus, as detailed in 2 Peter 1:10. Peter knew better than anyone that the war of doubt and fear is waged in the minds of believers. When we take our eyes off Jesus and forget that we’re chosen and called, we’re no longer condemned. Instead, we’re cared for and can never be removed from God’s love.

Complacency leads to stumbling.

The night before His crucifixion, Jesus told James, John, and Peter to pray and look out for Him while He went to be with the Father in the Garden of Gethsemane. However, on several occasions, Jesus returned to find His trusted apostles sleeping. He told them to keep praying and watching so that they wouldn’t be tempted because the spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak. However, once again, the disciples failed to remain vigilant in prayer. Ironically, Jesus told Peter earlier that Satan demanded permission to sift him like wheat, but Jesus prayed from him that his faith wouldn’t fail and, once he turned again, strengthen the other apostles.

Thankfully for Peter, denying Jesus wasn’t the only thing Jesus said would happen that evening. Peter’s faith would survive as long as he’s been preserved, undoubtedly by Jesus’ intercessory prayer. However, his complacency would set him on a path to stumble. It was a mistake Peter would learn from in time. In fact, in one of his letters, Peter writes to be on the alert because the enemy prowls around like a lion, seeking something to devour. When Jesus was arrested, Peter had become complacent, underestimating his enemy’s tenacity. He wasn’t as vigilant as Jesus told him to be, which resulted in Satan sifting Peter like wheat, which led to one of his worst moments. However, due to Jesus’ intercession and mercy, Peter’s faith survived, and as Christ predicted, Peter emerged from this trial with the knowledge to strengthen his fellow apostles.

As his time on earth drew to an end, Peter could rejoice in the eternal inheritance that awaited him when he reunited with his Savior. By the wounds of Christ, Pete was forgiven, healed, and redeemed. Like a sheep who continually went astray, he’d returned to the Guardian and Shepherd of his soul. Imperfect and flawed, nevertheless, Peter was called by Jesus, who, in His grace, strengthened and established Peter from the beginning to the very end.

2 John 1-13 Salutation The elder to the elect lady and her children, whom I love in the truth, and not only I but also all who know the truth,

2 John 1-13

Salutation
The elder to the elect lady and her children, whom I love in the truth, and not only I but also all who know the truth, because of the truth that abides in us and will be with us forever: Grace, mercy, and peace will be with us from God the Father and from Jesus Christ, the Father's Son, in truth and love.
Truth and Love
I was overjoyed to find some of your children walking in the truth, just as we have been commanded by the Father. But now, dear lady, I ask you, not as though I were writing you a new commandment, but one we have had from the beginning, let us love one another. And this is love, that we walk according to his commandments; this is the commandment just as you have heard it from the beginning—you must walk in it. Many deceivers have gone out into the world, those who do not confess that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh; any such person is the deceiver and the antichrist! Be on your guard, so that you do not lose what we have worked for, but may receive a full reward. Everyone who does not abide in the teaching of Christ, but goes beyond it, does not have God; whoever abides in the teaching has both the Father and the Son. Do not receive into the house or welcome anyone who comes to you and does not bring this teaching; for to welcome is to participate in the evil deeds of such a person.
Final Greetings
Although I have much to write to you, I would rather not use paper and ink; instead I hope to come to you and talk with you face to face, so that our joy may be complete. The children of your elect sister send you their greetings.

5 Ways the Holy Spirit Tries to Get Your Attention If you’re not getting guidance, it’s because you aren’t listening. By Stephanie Hertzenberg

How many times have you felt like you needed guidance, but you were not getting any answers to any of your questions or prayers? The odds are you have felt that way relatively often. After all, most people are unpleasantly familiar with the feeling of wanting something but being unable to reach it. Most people are also acquainted with reaching a goal, taking a job or entering a relationship only to find out that they have made a terrible mistake. When these things happen, it can be easy to feel angry or think that you should have gotten some sort of warning that this was going to end badly.

The reality is that you probably did get some kind of warning that you were about to make a terrible mistake. You, however, ignored the whisper in the back of your mind telling you to walk away. You thought you knew better. That little voice, however, may well have been the Holy Spirit trying to get your attention. You, however, ignored it. You expected the Holy Spirit to come to you in a blaze of fire, but sometimes, the Holy Spirit uses subtler ways to try and reach you. Here are five ways the Holy Spirit tries to get your attention.

Dreams.

When you go to sleep at night, how often do you have dreams? If you are like the vast majority of the human race, you dream every night, but you are rarely lucky enough to remember your dreams in the morning. The few that you do remember are preserved primarily as hazy impressions of color, a few vivid images that have little to no context or an echo of intense emotion, though you are unsure what in the dream made you feel ecstatic, terrified or angry. Dreams from the Holy Spirit, however, are often different. They are deeply emotional and often involve vivid imagery. You also remember them come morning. Unlike ordinary dreams, they do not fade away into the ether at dawn. Instead, they linger in the back of your head for days, weeks or even months after you initially had the dream.

Repeated symbols.

The human brain loves patterns. You may not even notice it, but your mind is hardwired to find patterns and meaning in absolutely everything around you. This is why when you were little, the shadows cast by the tree outside your window resembled a person to you and why you think you can make out individual words in a recording that is being played backward. This inherent hatred of randomness, however, can work to your advantage when you are looking for messages from the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit might try to get your attention by repeatedly putting the same symbols or signs in your path. If you are looking for divine guidance and keep seeing the exact numbers, phrases or animals, it might be a sign from the Holy Spirit. This is especially true if the numbers end up corresponding to a Bible verse applicable to your situation or the animal has Christian connotations, like a dove.

Messages from others.

Sometimes, the Holy Spirit uses other people to get its message through to you. These messages usually are more blatant than other forms of the Holy Spirit’s influence. This means the messages tend to stand out more than other methods the Holy Spirit uses for reaching out to you and trying to grab your attention.

Messages from others could come in a wide variety of ways. They almost always, however, appear to you as statements from those around you that seem eerily accurate to your circumstances. A speaker on television might seem to be talking directly to you about your situation. A friend that you have not told about your troubles yet texts you out of the blue to say they are praying for you. An encouraging song comes on the radio exactly when you need it. The Holy Spirit usually drives these sorts of deeply improbable coincidences, so pay attention to them.

Gut feelings.

You have almost certainly been told in the past that you need to trust your gut feeling or pay attention to your instincts when you are trying to make a decision. This is excellent advice. Everything about a situation — whether it is a new job, a new relationship or a new apartment — may seem wonderful, but there is a nagging feeling in the back of your head or a knot in your stomach that makes you hesitate. Sometimes, these are just natural concerns over change. Other times, those inexplicable nerves or unexpected and out-of-place excitement are a sign that the Holy Spirit is reaching out to you. When you have those feelings, study them carefully in order to determine whether what you are feeling is simply a byproduct of a transition in your life or the result of the Holy Spirit either warning you away from something or encouraging you along the path God has planned for you.

Closed doors.

Sometimes, it seems like every door you try to walk through slams in your face. You apply for a new job only to be turned down after the final interview. You try to deepen your relationship with your significant other, only for them to walk out of your life a few weeks later. You try to start working out again, only to trip and break your leg. When every door closes, it can seem like God has forgotten about you. The opposite, however, is usually true. When the Holy Spirit closes doors, it is because those are not the doors you are meant to take. What lies on the other side of them will keep you from walking the path that God has laid out for you. That may seem like cold comfort when you are hunting for a job or excessively lonely, but there is a plan, and come hell or high water, the Holy Spirit is going to make sure you follow it.

The Holy Spirit is always calling you, but you might not be listening. If you are expecting the spiritual equivalent of a neon sign, you will not notice the quiet little suggestions that may be left in your path. You will ignore warnings, miss opportunities and then wonder why you are not receiving guidance. The Holy Spirit is always with you, but that does you no good if you are not willing to listen to its voice.

One damning new book is about to reveal Joe Biden’s darkest secret

Feb 27, 2025

Joe Biden left office in disgrace.

The depths of the calamity Biden inflicted on the country still isn’t known to a lot of Americans.

And one damning new book is about to reveal Joe Biden’s darkest secret.

New book detailing the cover-up of Biden’s cognitive decline set for publication

Axios’ Alex Thompson and CNN’s Jake Tapper are set to publish Original Sin: President Biden’s Decline, Its Coverup, and His Disastrous Choice to Run Again

“Been working hard on this with @AlexThomp, from interviews with more than 200 WH insiders, Dem leaders, and more,” Tapper wrote on social media.

The book purports to give Americans a behind the scenes look at the greatest conspiracy in American political history – the conspiracy between Joe Biden’s handlers, the larger Democrats Party, and the media – to hide the fact that for four years the President of the United States was senile.

“What you will learn makes President Biden’s decision to run for reelection seem shockingly narcissistic, self-delusional, and reckless — a desperate bet that went bust — and part of a larger act of extended public deception that has few precedents,” the book’s description reads.

Critics slammed the participation of Tapper in this project.

Back in 2020, Tapper attacked Lara Trump as a purveyor of misinformation and a conspiracy theorist for accurately saying on CNN that Joe Biden was suffering from cognitive decline.

“I think what we see on stage with Joe Biden, Jake, is very clearly a cognitive decline,” Lara Trump stated.

Tapper got up on his high horse and cited the dubious claim that Joe Biden’s inability to speak coherently stemmed from a childhood stutter as opposed to that his mind was made of Jello.

“I think you were mocking his stutter,” Tapper scoffed. “You have absolutely no standing to diagnose somebody’s cognitive decline. I would think that someone in the Trump family would be more sensitive to people who do not have medical licenses diagnosing politicians from afar.”

Critics ripped the inclusion of Tapper as another diversion to keep the conspiracy about Biden’s mental infirmities going in order to protect the guilty parties in the Democrat Party and the press.

“Jake Tapper’s involvement is to completely create a shield from the media’s role in it. It’s that simple. It’s a way of deflecting blame away from the people who had the biggest role in covering it up,” conservative commentator Stephen Miller wrote on X.

Miller said unless this book names the names of individuals in the press who willingly went along with the farce, then the book was useless.

“Of course Biden’s people orchestrated all of this. The only question that actually matters is why journalists all participated in it with them. If this book doesn’t address that, it’s a pointless expertise in self deflection,” Miller added.

Others joked that this book would be like if O.J. Simpson had written a book about killing his wife, which of course, he did.

What really sickens Americans is the fact that only now, when there is money to be made, is the media finally coming clean about how there was a conspiracy in place to hide Joe Biden’s condition from the public.
