Coulter: Why the Media Are in a Never-Ending Hunt For Right-Wing Violence

Coulter: Why the Media Are in a Never-Ending Hunt For Right-Wing Violence

We've heard this exact same story many, many times before.

After I'd spent a decade begging Republicans, including a few presidential candidates, to take up the immigration issue, Donald J. Trump came along, championed the entire thesis of Adios, America, and swept all contenders aside.

It's too late for the likes of Marco Rubio, Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan to avoid humiliation, but if they don't want to keep making asses of themselves in public by, for example, praising today's version of the KKK, they should read my entire corpus of work, starting with Demonic. (Trump somehow grasped the whole point of that book, too.)

The reason normal people are suspicious of the media's narrative on Charlottesville is that we've heard this exact same story many, many times before.

Facts on the ground:

-- Approximately every other year since forever, liberal hooligans have been rampaging through the streets, beating people up, setting off bombs, killing cops, smashing store windows, assassinating politicians and burning down neighborhoods -- against capitalism, Vietnam, Nixon, Wall Street, a police shooting, Trump, Starbucks, a sunny day.
-- Conservatives, mostly families, have generally avoided even the mildest forms of political protest, and, when they finally are driven to petition the government over their grievances, they pick up after themselves — at tea parties, townhalls, Trump rallies and so on.

Result: The entire media are constantly on Red Alert for the threat of Right-Wing Violence.

The explanation for this apparent madness is that the left -- both the scribblers and the shock troops -- bear all the characteristics of a mob, as set forth more than a century ago by the father of group-think, French psychologist Gustave Le Bon. No behavior of the left is mysterious if you've read Le Bon -- or "Demonic." In The Crowd: A Study of the Popular Mind, Le Bon observed that the "complete lack of critical spirit" prevents crowds from "perceiving ... contradictions."

No matter the year or the circumstances, the media and their eunuch politicians are quick to blame any surprising violence on the Right-Wing Nazis of their imaginations -- from Lee Harvey Oswald (communist) to Jared Lee Loughner and James Holmes (psychopaths) to the two stabbing murders on a Portland train earlier this year committed by a Bernie Sanders supporter, whom the media -- to this day -- insist, all evidence to the contrary, was a Trump supporter.

When, a few months after the first murders by a Sanders supporter, a second Sanders supporter opened fire on a congressional Republican baseball practice, putting GOP Rep. Steve Scalise in critical condition, that political attack was simply discarded. The media put the story of left-wing assailant James Hodgkinson in a lead casket and dropped it to the bottom of the sea.

There are the scores of other examples of imaginary right-wing violence invented by the media -- then quietly abandoned when the facts come out. After weeks of hair-on-fire headlines, suddenly you just stop reading about the Duke lacrosse "rapists," homicidal maniac Officer Darren Wilson or legions of Trump-supporters ripping off Muslim women's hijabs.

But I remember! Here are as many as my word limit allows –- maybe more!

SARAH PALIN AND THE RISE OF NAZISM IN AMERICA

During the 2008 campaign, the media were in a perpetual state of fright that racist Republicans would assassinate Barack Obama.

Naturally, when a local reporter claimed he'd heard someone in a crowd at a Sarah Palin rally yell, "Kill him!" about Obama, the media didn't wait for more facts! The Washington Post's Dana Milbank promptly reported the reed-thin allegation, which was then repeated in hundreds of other news outlets.

On CNN, David Gergen said that Palin was "whipping up these crowds," creating "ugly scenes" with audience members yelling, "Kill him. Kill him" -- and also claimed (without evidence) that they were yelling "racial epithets." A CNN article on the alleged shout-out appeared under the headline: "Rage rising on the McCain campaign trail."

Vice presidential candidate Joe Biden weighed in, somberly calling the alleged incident "dangerous."

MSNBC'S Rachel Maddow railed against the "mere mention of killing someone at a political rally," saying, "it's horrific."

MSNBC's Keith Olbermann took the gold, yammering on and on about the claim in nightly updates, culminating in one of his prissiest ever "Special Comments," in which he demanded that John McCain suspend his campaign until "it ceases to be a clear and present danger to the peace of this nation."

Needless to say, the Secret Service undertook a complete review. Agents listened to tapes of the event, interviewed attendees and interrogated the boatloads of law enforcement officers spread throughout the crowd.

Conclusion: It never happened. As even the nutty left-wing site Salon noted, "If (the Secret Service) says it doesn't think anyone shouted, 'kill him,' it's a good bet that it didn't happen."

No apologies, no retractions, no memory.

THE TEA PARTY AND THE RISE OF NAZISM IN AMERICA:

Remember when polite, hardworking Americans came together to oppose Obamacare at tea party rallies in 2009 and 2010?

Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Rep. Steny Hoyer called the protesters "un-American." The Democratic National Committee called them "rabid right-wing extremists." Sen. Harry Reid called the tea partiers "evil-mongers." Jimmy Carter pronounced an "overwhelming portion" of them racists.

ABC called them a "mob." CNN called them "rabble-rousing critics."

Democratic congressman Brian Baird of Washington accused tea partiers of using "close to Brown-shirt tactics." The AFL-CIO called them an "extremist fringe," using "mob rule."

As Le Bon explained, "one of the surest means of making an idea enter the mind of crowds" is to affirmatively state something, "free of all reasoning and all proof." Indeed, "the more destitute of every appearance of proof and demonstration" a claim is, "the more weight it carries" with a mob.

As usual, once the dust had settled, the only violence at the tea parties and town halls had been committed by liberals.

On Aug. 6, 2009, for example, a black tea partier was beaten up by union thugs shouting the N-word at him at a St. Louis town hall. Six members of the Service Employees International Union were arrested. About a month later, on Sept. 3, 2009, 65-year-old tea partier Bill Rice had his finger bitten off at a health care rally in Thousand Oaks, California, by a lefty Obamacare supporter.

To this day, The New York Times has never mentioned either incident, so it can happily return to railing against the non-existent right-wing rage surging in the red states.

THE CENSUS WORKER AND RISE OF NAZISM IN AMERICA:

In the fall of 2009, the naked body of Census worker Bill Sparkman was found hanging from a tree in southwestern Kentucky, with the word "fed" written across his chest.

Liberals wasted no time in concluding that right-wing extremists had murdered Sparkman in a burst of anti-government hate.

A Census worker? Who hates Census workers? Unlike an IRS agent, an EPA inspector or even an agriculture inspector, a Census worker can't arrest you, seize your property or fine you hundreds of thousands of dollars. They just hand out questionnaires.

No matter. The left has been waiting for right-wing violence for centuries and, finally, here it was!

New York magazine ran an article about the dead Census worker, asking, "Has Nancy Pelosi's Fear of Political Violence Been Realized?"

The Atlantic's Andrew Sullivan blamed "Southern populist terrorism" for Sparkman's death, "whipped up by the GOP and its Fox and talk radio cohorts."

But MSNBC's Rachel Maddow owned the Bill-Sparkman-was-murdered-by-right-wingers story. Night after night, she breathlessly reported this "breaking national news." Although Rachel's main move is giggling and eye-rolling, she was all deadly earnestness when it came to the "troubling story" and the "worry that he was killed in fact because he was a federal employee."

In case you missed the point, Maddow reminded viewers there's "a strong suspicion of government generally among people who live in that area."

A month later, investigators announced that Sparkman had committed suicide in an insurance scam. Rachel left it to her guest host, Howard Dean, to break the bad news to her conspiracy-minded viewers, sparing her the humiliation.

And then we never heard the story of the Census worker again.

A media capable of turning tea partiers, Palin supporters and a random insurance scam into weeks of terror at right-wing violence are not going to let a few nuts waving Nazi flags at a "Unite the Right" rally pass without leaping at the opportunity to outlaw conservatism.

Based on the media's 100-year history of fantasizing a burgeoning Nazi Party in America, the rest of us would like to wait for the facts on Charlottesville.

Obama Admin Hid Intel on Iranian Militants in Syria to Push Nuclear Deal

Surely Obama would never do such a thing!

The Obama administration, so bent on ramming through its Iran deal and ensuring it could work with the country's airline industry, "likely hid information" about the Islamic Republic "illicitly ferrying militants into Syria on commercial aircraft," reports the Free Beacon.
Citing lawmakers and sources privy to information concerning President Obama's Iran-dealings, the Beacon summarizes thusly:
[...] Congressional leaders are calling for an investigation into Iran for using its state-controlled air carrier, Iran Air, to ferry militant fighters into Syria, where they are taking up arms in defense of embattled President Bashar al-Assad.
Photographs provided to Congress show Iran using Iran Air to ferry these soldiers between 2016 and 2017, in part when the Obama administration removed sanctions on Iran Air and promoted multi-billion dollars sales between the carrier and aircraft manufacturer Boeing, which is seeking to provide Iran Air with a fleet of new planes that many suspect will be used to carry terrorist fighters and weapons into regional hotspots.
This behavior violates international laws governing the nuclear deal and has now led lawmakers and others to accuse the Obama administration of downplaying Iran's illicit activity in order to promote the nuclear deal and ensure Tehran receives a new commercial fleet.
Multiple senior Obama administration officials, including former secretary of state John Kerry, traveled the globe to promote trade with Iranian companies, including Iran Air, at the same time Iran was found to be ferrying militants into Syria. Lawmakers and others suspect the Obama administration either hid or downplayed this information in order to preserve the nuclear deal.
"The Obama administration lifted sanctions against Iran Air as a political concession during nuclear negotiations with Iran, not because of any change in its activity," Rep. Peter Roskam (R., Ill.), one of the lawmakers calling for an investigation into Iran's use of commercial aircraft for military purposes, told the Free Beacon.
"Iran's use of commercial aircraft for military purposes violates international agreements as well as Iranian commitments under the JCPA [Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action]," lawmakers stated in a letter.
Rep. Ron DeSantis of the House Foreign Affairs Committee told the Beacon that Obama turned a blind eye in order to push his Iran deal through.
Every single action Obama took in the Middle East over his eight-year term, including shipping pallets of cash to Iran, made it abundantly clear to the American public what his true intentions were.

Rachel Maddow Ends August asNumber One In Cable News

This is frightening.

With the concerted effort to dismantle Fox News' primetime line-up, progressives have eked out some stunning victories in the ratings department. The biggest news concerns MSNBC host Rachel Maddow, whose program ranked as the most-watched in cable news for the month of August with 2.783 million viewers, according to Nielsen research. It was the far-left pundit's second month in the No. 1 slot.
Forbes reports:
Maddow narrowly beat Fox News Channel's Sean Hannity, who had 2.679 million total viewers. The remaining shows in the top five for the month were Fox News' Tucker Carlson (2.483 million), MSNBC's Lawrence O'Donnell (2.352 million) and Fox News' The Five (2.351 million). Maddow was also first among adults 25-54, the critical demographic to advertisers.
While Maddow and O'Donnell were among the best performers in prime time, MSNBC still trailed Fox News Channel. FNC averaged 2.2 million viewers in prime time, putting Fox in first place among all cable networks in prime for the month. The networks dissect the ratings data in myriad ways, but Fox has plenty to tout, including a 14-month streak as the top-rated cable network based on total day ratings and 188 straight months at No. 1 in cable news (total day and prime).
Among slightly younger viewers, adults 18-49, MSNBC was No. 1 in prime for the month.
In prime, MSNBC trailed Fox with 1.835 million total viewers, an increase of 63% from the same period a year ago. CNN had 1.194 million viewers (up 41%). In the key advertiser demo, the race for number one was tight, with FNC first in prime time (466,000), CNN took second place (418,000) and MSNBC was close behind at 410,000. All of the networks saw their audiences rise in the demo compared to a year ago, with MSNBC (up 55%) and CNN (up 54%) more than doubling Fox News' increase (up 25%).
The key takeaway is that there is a concerted effort to shut down right-leaning media presenters while Fake News gains momentum. That's frightening, as the Neilsen research indicates that while overall distrust in media is high among Americans, there is clearly a growing demand for Fake News.

Democratically-Elected Arab-Israeli Political Party Promotes Martyr's Summer Camp

"With spirit and blood we will redeem you, martyr."

We all know that Palestinian leadership routinely reward terrorists and their families, thus ensuring the cycle of Jew-hatred and violence continues. It's also worth noting, however, that even the official Arab-Israeli political parties -- ones that are democratically elected -- do the exact same thing.
Case in point:
The Balad political party in Israel just organized a youth parade for its summer camp and concluded with a procession glorifying all the "martyrs" (i.e. those who die killing Jewish people).
Ynet reports that the procession marched through the Dheisheh refugee camp, Palestinian flags on high and chanting, "Palestine with spirit and blood."
The youth summer camp, according to Ynet, was "divided into groups named after Palestinian leaders Yasser Arafat, Izz ad-Din al-Qassam; MK Zoabi praises 'spirit of struggle, vigor and force.'" Lovely. The outlet provides additional details below:
A summer camp for Arab-Israeli youths organized by the Arab-Israeli Balad party held its concluding ceremony this week in the Dheisheh refugee camp near Bethlehem, with campers marching alongside the camp's children in a procession honoring the "martyrs."
Draped in Palestinian flags, the children attending the camp marched through the refugee camp chanting invectives aimed at Israel.
The march's repertoire included calls saying "with spirit and blood we will redeem you, martyr" and "with spirit and blood we will redeem you, Palestine."
At the parade's conclusion, they visited families of terrorists who were killed or wounded during terror attacks. "We pay our respects to the families of the martyrs," said one of the march's leaders.
As part of the summer camp's activities, children were divided into groups. One such group was named after former Palestinian Liberation Organization chief Yasser Arafat and another after Izz ad-Din al-Qassam, the eponym for the military arm of Hamas. Another group is named after Gamal Abdel Nasser, former President of Egypt who repeatedly spoke of Israel's annihilation.
"The Balad youth's 18th summer camp has concluded," wrote Joint List MK Haneen Zoabi on her Facebook page. "Balad is proud of its young men and women and hitching its activities and ideology to the spirit of struggle, vigor and force."
Balad's youth organization noted that the martyrs procession was "encouraging the Arab-Palestinian identity, democratic values and the 'state for all its citizens' concept."
They always tell us who they are and what they stand for. If only the world would listen.
An important distinction to reiterate is that this is not Palestinian leadership talking -- this is an officially elected Arab-Israel political party within Israel, represented in the Knesset. So, what hope is there for peace?

Slate: ‘Bighearted People Helping Hurricane Victims Not America at Its Best

It’s official: the Left hates America.

We didn’t need more proof that the unhinged Left hates everything about America, but Slate gave us another piece of evidence anyway with its latest critique of the American spirit that has exploded in Houston.
Natural disasters, terrorist attacks, and the like are events that seem to bring us together in a common cause and help us forget our differences if only for a brief moment. Most of us are relishing in that elusive moment, especially at a time when forces are hoping we stay divided. However, Slate believes the heroic responses to Hurricane Harvey doesn’t showcase America at its best and anyone that claims it is is just adding to “national mythmaking.”
Katy Waldman writes in her piece:
The flood, the animals: It all felt so mythic. In coverage of Harvey, the word hero is almost as ubiquitous as the stills of intrepid reporters, their rain slickers swirling like capes, and hunky National Guardsmen in life jackets. During a speech to the press on Monday, President Donald Trump noted that crisis showcases “the best in America’s character—strength, charity, and resilience.”
But does catastrophe illustrate, or does it transform? What if America is less a glorious nation of do-gooders awaiting the chance to exercise their altruism than a moral junior varsity team elevated by circumstance?
The point here is obviously not to diminish the bighearted men and women who rose to the occasion when Harvey, a “once-in-a-lifetime” storm with a spiraling death toll, slammed into Texas. But it is misleading to characterize Houston as an exhibition of the “best of America” when what it represents is a contingent America, a “paradise” specific to the “hell” around it. These waterlogged suburbs have become zones of exemption, where norms hang suspended and something lovelier and more communal has been allowed to flourish in their place.
Yeah, Waldman, we get your “point.” Slate made that clear on Twitter with its promotion of this story, though the outlet tried to soften the blow each time, before flat out changing it:
But TruthRevolt’s Tiffany Gabbay said it best on Twitter, calling Slate out on its true “spirit:”

Nancy Pelosi Finally Condemns Antifa What took her so long?

Nancy Pelosi Finally Condemns Antifa

What took her so long?

914
On Tuesday, House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi broke her silence on the Antifa terrorists and finally condemned the violent organization via public statement:
“Our democracy has no room for inciting violence or endangering the public, no matter the ideology of those who commit such acts. The violent actions of people calling themselves antifa in Berkeley this weekend deserve unequivocal condemnation, and the perpetrators should be arrested and prosecuted.
“In California, as across all of our great nation, we have deep reverence for the Constitutional right to peaceful dissent and free speech. Non-violence is fundamental to that right. Let us use this sad event to reaffirm that we must never fight hate with hate, and to remember the values of peace, openness and justice that represent the best of America.”
The bigger question is: What took her so long? Antifa was active all during the 2016 election and has been systematically attacking the First Amendment on college campuses and leaving destruction and injury in its wake. It has targeted Berkeley before. What makes this time so special for Pelosi to finally announce she’s had enough?
Not that we believe her, anyway. Elections are next year, after all, and Democrats really think they have a chance.
