A group of imams who toured Auschwitz and Dachau said “denying the reality of the Holocaust” was “unacceptable.”

“We bear witness to the absolute horror and tragedy of the Holocaust, where millions upon millions of human souls perished, more than half of whom were people of the Jewish faith,” said the May 28 statement from 10 Muslim religious and intellectual leaders from the United States, Indonesia, Bosnia, Jordan, Saudi Arabia, Turkey and India.
“We acknowledge, as witnesses, that it is unacceptable to deny this historical reality and declare such denials or any justification of this tragedy as against the Islamic code of ethics.”
The May 18-24 trip, which was organized by the Center for Religious Understanding, also included top U.S. officials, including Ira Forman, who had just been appointed the State Department’s special envoy to combat anti-Semitism, and Rashid Hussain, the special envoy to the Organization of Islamic Cooperation.
A 2010 visit organized by the Center for Religious Understanding, which hosted only U.S. imams, resulted in a similar statement.

US President Barack Obama, in his proposed resolution for Congress that formally authorizes broad-scale use of force against the Islamic State terrorist organization wherever it is, specifically singles out several ethnic groups threatened by the group: Iraqi Christians, Yezidis and Turkmens.
The sole Republican Jewish lawmaker in Congress, Lee Zeldin thinks the omission of Jews from the list of groups mentioned is a mistake, telling CNN the targeting of the Kosher deli last month in Paris that left four Jews dead, is proof that ISIS is committed to vicious acts against Jews around the world.
“I see an understanding, a recognition in the resolution with regards to ISIS attacks on Muslims, on Christians and others, and I didn’t see a reference to Jews,” the New York Republican told CNN on Wednesday. “And one of the efforts I’ve been involved in is trying to raise awareness for the rising tide of anti-Semitism.”
If passed, the authorization would be the first bill of its kind to authorize the use of force since Congress voted to authorize the war in Iraq in 2003.
Zeldin questioned whether the Jews were deliberately left out as an ethnic group that ISIS has threatened.
“I think that when the White House is drafting a resolution for the authorization of force, that every single word, every phrase in there is done deliberately — it has to be,” Zeldin told CNN.
“I strongly believe we were reminded in Paris that these radical Islamic extremists, they want to wipe Israel off the map,” said Zeldin. “They target not only Jews but our freedom, our exceptionalism as Americans — the whole western world.”
“The pursuit of ISIS includes a threat not just to Muslims, not just to Jews, not just to Christians, but everyone and it all should be recognized in the resolution,” he added…..

QZ (h/t Acharya S)  In recent months, a street movement called Pegida—Patriotic Europeans Against the Islamization of the Occident—has emerged from nowhere in Germany, seeking to “protect Judeo-Christian culture” and halt to what it calls the spread of Islam.

And now the group is spreading abroad. Pegida held its first march in Vienna and is to hold its first British rally in the city of Newcastle on Feb. 28, with more planned in the UK. Britain already has anti-Islamic groups such as the English Defence League, a small but vocal force. Only this weekend, the EDL attracted as many as 1,000 people to a march against the building of a mosque.

Time will tell how popular Pegida will be outside of Germany, but its rising profile is a small part of the growing shift into the mainstream of right-wing patriotic groups that would have once been shunned.

Britain is also coping with the rise of the anti-Muslim immigration UK Independence Party. In France, the Front National is a more organized and established version of much the same sentiment.

In 2002, the Front National’s Marine Le Pen, who now runs the Front National, which became the most popular party in the last nationwide elections held in France and has become so prominent that she was invited to speak at the Oxford University student union last week—her speech was delayed by three hours due to protests. She even writes editorials in the New York Times now.

Marine Le Pen’s party, Front National, which under her father once considered antisemitic, now is being embraced French Jews.

Even Britain’s Prince Charles, who rarely speaks on political matters, is worried about the radicalization of Muslim youths within his future kingdom. The growing acceptance of anti-Islam subject matter as part of political discourse in Europe may just be a sign of our more polarized times—similar things are happening on the far-left in Greece and Spain, for example…..

Not funny at all. The Tartu Art Museum in Estonia, Tartu Kunstimuuseum, has a different approach to Holocaust remembrance: laughing at it. A new exhibit features, amongst others, a scandalous, banned in Germany, video of children playing tag in a gas chamber, minutes before death. The exhibit’s purpose? “Commemorating the tragic events, perceiving history through the prism of humour.”

Well that’s a relief.
Interesting faith they have over there in Iran. It doesn’t seem too concerned about support for the likes of Hezbollah, nor does it bat an eyelash at selling nuclear components to Bowl Cut Jr., and hostage-taking? Why not?
But having a nuke! Oh, they won’t do that. Their faith. Come on, man. Barack Obama certainly understands that no one will do anything having first pronounced it contrary to his faith. Oh wait . . .
This is what it’s come to for America and it’s dealing with the mad mullahs. You could even argue that Obama isn’t naive enough to believe them. I say that may well be true but it’s beside the point. Obama of all people understands the impulse to BS about “faith” in order to achieve a political objective. But Obama has an objective too, which is to get a deal for the sake of getting a deal, so he actually stands there in the public eye and says stuff like this:

Now I’ll grant you that there are a couple of ways you can hear this comment. One is to think that he’s actually calling them out on their nonsense by saying, OK bud, if that’s what you believe then you should have no trouble making this deal. But to view it that way, you have to forget the folly of pursuing these negotiations in the first place. The U.S. did not need to give Iran the opportunity to negotiate terms. Our stance going in was that this was a rogue regime and it was not going to have nukes, period. If it tried, we would take action.
The problem with that, of course, was that we said it but we didn’t really mean it – and you have to figure the mad mullahs knew that too. American leadership has a huge problem these days with making pronouncements it has no intention of backing up

President Barack Obama and his administration have been reaching out to the theocratic regime in Iran and have been engaging in secret negotiations with them over their nuclear weapons program.

Unfortunately for Obama and his efforts at “friendship” with Iran, Congress is prepared to levy new sanctions on the tyrannical Islamic regime, a move that has overwhelming bipartisan support.
As such, it appears that Obama’s administration has gone into overdrive in their efforts to secure a deal with Iran, even going so far as to make concessions to the Muslim nation, concessions which no doubt will allow them to retain their steadily growing nuclear program.
Sources in Iran’s military are reportedly claiming that American officials are “begging” for a deal to be reached soon.
“Americans are begging us for a deal on the negotiation table,” said Mohammad Reza Naghdi, a commander in a para-military group affiliated with Iran’s elite Revolutionary Guard.
Naghdi added that the American delegation is operating from a position of weakness, which coincides with other reports claiming that Iran will emerge from the negotiations with much of their uranium enrichment program intact, according to the Washington Free Beacon.
An AP report recently stated that Iran “refuses to meet U.S.-led demands for deep cuts in the number of centrifuges it uses to enrich uranium, a process that can create material for anything from chemotherapy to the core of an atomic bomb.”
Many experts in the region say that Iran believes they are in a position of power  that they are exploiting because of the obvious desperation on the part of the Obama administration to reach a deal.
Iranian dissident Saeed Ghasseminejad said, “Iran feels the administration needs the deal, and this belief is supported by the way the administration is acting.”
He added that due to increased hostilities between America and its traditional allies like Israel and Saudi Arabia, it appears that Obama either directly supports, or at least doesn’t oppose, Iran’s expanding influence in the region.
“Iran feels as long as the negotiation is going on, it has a green light to do whatever it wants in the region, so why should they bother to sign a deal?” Ghasseminejad said.
But Congress has no intention of just sitting back and allowing Obama to make concessions to Iran, as they know that a bad deal would allow Iran to threaten the security of both America and its allies…..
