S/Leone VP may face impeachment

Sierra Leone`s beleaguered Vice President may be impeached if he fails in an appeal against his expulsion from the governing All Peoples Congress (APC), APA learnt Friday.Vice President Samuel Sam Sumana has been under pressure to resign after his expulsion.
Those who are calling for his departure say since he has no party it`s unconstitutional for him to stay as VP.
“He is not qualified to be a Vice President without a party,” said Political and Public Affairs Minister, Kemo Sesay, on Thursday.
Mr Sesay was speaking on a special edition of a daily talk show on the national broadcaster SLBC.
But earlier on Thursday, Information and Communication Minister Alpha Kanu, who happens to be the APC`s Publicity Secretary and official government spokesman, said they were considering referring the matter to parliament if the VP`s appeal against his expulsion was rejected by the relevant party structures.
“If a vice president has no party Parliament should be informed by notice in writing to the speakerâ€�, Kanu said, quoting relevant sections of the constitution.
VP Sumana was sanctioned following an investigation the APC said it mounted and found him wanting for a number of alleged offences, including claiming to be a Muslim when he was a Christian, forming a new political party, and running an army of thugs.
According to reports, the VP has through his lawyers sent in his appeal.

At the British Friends of Bar-Ilan University's event in Otto Uomo October 2014 Professor Ido Bachelet announced the beginning of the human treatment with nanomedicine. He indicates DNA nanobots can currently identify cells in humans with 12 different types of cancer tumors.

A human patient with late stage leukemia will be given DNA nanobot treatment. Without the DNA nanobot treatment the patient would be expected to die in the summer of 2015. Based upon animal trials they expect to remove the cancer within one month.

Within 1 or 2 years they hope to have spinal cord repair working in animals and then shortly thereafter in humans. This is working in tissue cultures.

Previously Ido Bachelet and Shawn Douglas have published work on DNA nanobots in the journal Nature and other respected science publications.

One Trillion 50 nanometer nanobots in a syringe will be injected into people to perform cellular surgery.

The DNA nanobots have been tuned to not cause an immune response.
They have been adjusted for different kinds of medical procedures. Procedures can be quick or ones that last many days.

Sudan bans reporting on Ebola

The Sudanese authorities have prohibited local media from covering any news related to the Ebola virus.Press sources who asked not to be mentioned for security reasons confirmed to APA on Saturday that the security authorities have circulated warning to all media outlets not to publish any news or articles related to the transmission of the Ebola virus in Sudan.
The prohibition came after local media reported on some suspected cases of Ebola in the west of Sudan.
The Minister of Health Affairs for the Darfur Regional Authority, Firdos Abdel Rahman Yousif denied reports of the deadly Ebola virus disease in El Geneina, capital of West Darfur State.
The Sudan News Agency quoted the minister as saying the suspected case had come from Abeche in Chad.
The patient suffered from hemorrhagic fever, began taking treatment from the health center, and was then transferred to a hospital in El Geneina, she claimed.
The Ebola epidemic has killed over 1, 400 people in Guinea, Liberia, Sierra Leone and Nigeria since its outbreak in West Africa in February.
Over 2, 500 people are infected by the virus in the region according to the World Health Organization.

Botswana to add cervical cancer immunisation to regular programme

The just-ended nationwide Human Papilloma Virus (HPV) vaccination roll out could end up in the regular national immunization schedule, a health official said Monday.Ministry of Health spokesperson Doreen Motshegwa said judging by the success of the just-ended HPV vaccinations, the ministry might be forced to add it to the regular immunization schedule.
“After the second round of vaccination we will see where we have gaps so we learn from them. Maybe after that the HPV vaccination may be added to the routine yearly immunisation schedule,” Motshegwa explained.
In the first roll out, the HPV vaccine was administered to school going and out of school girls between 9 and 12 years to curb the cervical cancer causing virus.
The second roll out will be done in September this year.

Ethiopia’s 'Renaissance Dam' France 24 Report
In April 2011, Ethiopia began the construction of a huge dam on the Nile. The dam is expected to produce as much energy as six nuclear power stations and could make one of the world's poorest states self-sufficient, but the population may pay a high price.
For Ethiopia, this "Renaissance Dam", as the Ethiopians have nicknamed it, brings the promise of irrigated agriculture and energy independence.
However, the project is controversial. Damming a river has implications for everyone who lives by and anyone who makes a living on the waterway.
Downstream countries -- Sudan, and especially Egypt -- also see the project as a threat. Although diplomatic tensions, which were high at the project's launch, have eased somewhat, the dam continues to cause concern.
Due to a lack of sufficient funding, work on the project -- estimated at 4 billion euros -- is delayed. Our reporters went to the site to see.

The article incorrectly states that “Downstream countries —– Sudan and especially Egypt —- also see the project as a threat". Sudan actually supports Ethiopia’s efforts to build the GERD and Sudan had entered into a strategic military alliance with Ethiopia. Also Sudan benefits tremendously from the GERD because it will regulate the flow of water to the Nile which will prevent floods during the rainy season. In addition, the GERD will reduce the amount of silt which harms the agriculture of the downstream countries. So I disagree with the article stating Sudan opposes the Dam being built. One thing the Ethiopian government must include in its negotiation about the Dam is for Egypt to stop funding psuedo organizations opposed to the Ethiopian government for example ESAT and the dictator for life issaias Afewerki. Either way no one will stop this dam from being built and Ethiopia will continue on its path to economic growth. GOD BLESS ETHIOPIA AND THE EPRDF!

if you ask a wife or children of an Ethiopian arbegna who fought the Italians in 1896 or 1930 where tens of thousands Ethiopian were killed, they will say “ayee biqerbin yishalal, tirfu maleq naw"..and the Italians would be pleased to see that. this is no different. true, it hurts to see poor Ethiopians donating for the dam from their meager income, but its better to loose your money than your honor and dignity! for how long are our people to remain the poorest people on the face of the earth.

Those Ethiopians living abroad and enjoying the comfort and convenience of life in the US or Europe and have not contributed money should be ashamed of themselves because Ethiopians at home are contributing their meager income to help fund the Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam. Every Ethiopian living outside the country no matter their ethnic background has a moral obligation to contribute financially to the construction of this Dam. This reporting is an interesting spin on what is fact on the ground and the govt’s numerous statements regarding the various stages of the process of building this monumental Dam. If the people who should be resettled by now are still in their old domicile, the project is probably three years away or so and not to be completed in schedule. This is not a problem with a project of this scale. The problem will be if there is any shortage of funds as this reporting alleges. That is intolerable and various schemes of funding aside from depending on the locals and the Diaspora should be initiated, be it among those of African decent or folk who have sympathies toward Ethiopia. As Egypt still weighs considerable influence in the international banking system, it is practically impossible to fetch funds from them. As International Rivers, HRW and other so called activists have all but wedged war against the Project , funding the Dam is like ‘ hot potato’ for any of the private banks like JP Morgan or Morgan Stanley. I think as a wise governor of one of the Sudanese states bordering Ethiopia ranted ‘ Egypt is foolishly protesting any funding for the Dam and if due to lack of funding the Dam structure will be compromised, they will be the one responsible’. Not that I think there will be flaws in a project of this scale but just a thought i will like to share with esteemed readers of this site.
Overall, the French media has serious bias, despite the fact that one of the major sub contractor is one of theirs and unlike the main stream Anglo- Saxon media which has been writing unusually positive article about Ethiopia, they are stuck in their ‘ colonial mindset’.
Not to mention that they just sold ultra modern weaponry to Cairo, whose purpose is not yet known.
Finally, may I remind the French, that they failed in the building of the Panama Canal and had to sell out to the Yankees. Ethiopia will not repeat that mistake and wont sell out, but given time build it right!

As we hear from some source, Sudan is not against the GERD and Egypt even agree in prinzip with the Continuation of Dam. The only quetion raised now is about the security, the size specialy height and volume, and the time required to fill the dam. The three rich even an agreement in the letest days to eximine the possible dunger of the dam to Egypt and Sudan, really to Egypt. Sudan affirms that the dam has no negative impact at all. So Ethiopia has now time to go ahead. If 45% is true i did not see any delay, even it is a faster than we expect. Money we all schould pay. Sudan and Egypt should take part in the financing, if Ethiopia allow them to do so.

The Temple Institute in Jerusalem has announced that it has finished building an altar suitable for the Temple service. The altar, which took several years to build, can be operational at little more than a moment’s notice, reported Matzav Haruach magazine.
The Temple Institute is committed to preparing all the necessary clothing and tools for the rebuilt Holy Temple in Jerusalem. In addition, the institute operates an educational center for visitors and a preparatory training program for members of the priestly family who wish to be ready to serve as soon as the Temple is rebuilt.
The altar is a central component to the Biblical sacrificial service. In fact, there were separate altars for the incense and for other sacrifices.
The larger altar sat in the outer courtyard of the Tabernacle, and later the Temple. It was approximately five meters (16 feet) tall and 16 meters (52.5 feet) wide, with four “horns”, or raised corners, and a ramp.

According to the Bible, the altar may not be made out of stones hewn by metal implements. The altar prepared by the Temple Institute, under the direction of architect Rabbi Shmuel Balsam, follows this requirement.
It is constructed instead from bricks fired at roughly 1,000 degrees Celsius (1,832 degrees Fahrenheit), to withstand the immense heat of the Temple’s eternal flame and the weight of the sacrificial animals. Its measurements conform to the interpretation of Maimonides.
What makes the altar so unique is that it can be disassembled and reassembled easily, allowing it to be transported quickly and efficiently from its current location, on display at the institute, to the Temple Mount when the time comes. It was inaugurated in December 2014 and is now ready for use. With Passover around the corner, and the Passover sacrifice a central component of the traditional celebration, perhaps that time will come soon!
