After two Islamic State group attacks in the United States in the past six months, you would think that the Obama administration might be looking toward a slowdown in the intake of refugees. According to Reuters, though, the Obama administration’s U.N. ambassador is looking to speed things up.
According to a speech by U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations Samantha Power, the administration is looking to take in 30,000 refugees over the next two years, long after President Barack Obama has left office and no matter what happens this fall.
“Not only are we scaling up our resettlement efforts to admit 15,000 additional refugees this year, but we will scale up by 15,000 more next year to admit 100,000 refugees overall,” Power said.

Hard to imagine, but you can hear her comments for yourself here:
Power also said she was looking Thursday to ask other countries to do more for refugees on Thursday, asking them to give refugees jobs and provide schooling for refugee children.

“We need businesses, big and small, to do more too; which is why tomorrow, the White House is launching a private sector call to action, which will rally companies to do their part, from providing jobs to donating services to refugees,” Power said Wednesday.
“Even as the crisis continues to grow — many countries are making no effort at all to do their fair share,” Power added. “While we often overstate the security threats and economic costs of resettling more refugees, we routinely understate the likely consequences of failing to muster the global response that is needed.”
And as for those calling for a tightening of refugee requirements and a slowing of resettlement following attacks in Paris and Orlando, well, according to Power, they’re all bigots.
“Ignorance and prejudice make for bad advisers,” Power said.

Yes, well, so does policy that goes against the will of the people. Poll after poll has shown that the United States people want to change our refugee policy. But according to Ambassador Power, they’re ignorant and prejudiced — so why bother asking their opinion?
This is the essence of the leftists in the Obama administration. They couldn’t care less what you think; they answer only to their own progressive agenda.
