The Washington Post rebuked Democrats Thursday by fact-checking their claims against the Republican tax reform bill. Several Dems had decried the bill, stating that it would result in a tax increase for the middle class — $794 for households with an annual income of up to $86,100. According to the Post, that allegation originated in a report created by Dems on the Joint Economics Committee. But those on the left side of the aisle are currently cherry-picking their facts, to deceptive effect. The report states:

“If enacted, the Republican tax reform proposal would saddle 8 million households that earn up to $86,100 with an average tax increase of $794—a substantial expense for working families.”

In their attacks of the bill, left-wing lawmakers such as Kamala Harris and Jeff Merkley have conveniently omitted the reality that the increase would be limited to “8 million households.” That constraint is notable, given that the number involved indicates only 6.5% of American households in the lower three income categories. Per the report, roughly 80% of households will actually receive a tax cut. While the biggest average tax cut will apply to the top quintile of household income, that group also holds the greatest percentage households to receive an increase in taxes.

The Post was fairly cutting in its criticism of the Dems for the deception:

“In their haste to condemn the GOP tax plan, Democrats have spread far and wide the false claim that families making less than $86,100 on average will face a hefty tax hike...Actually, it’s the opposite.  Most families in that income range would get a tax cut.  Any Democrat who spread this claim should delete their tweets and make clear they were in error.”

The Post's exposure of the dishonesty of the Democrats is just one more reality check regarding leftists’ all-out war against Donald Trump. They’re here to fight, and they will fight dirty. That being said, the fact that the Post called them out on their lies is a refreshing reason for hope regarding a media landscape so often defiled by left-wing bias.

Islamic terror has struck America once again and the national media is bending over backward to try and stifle any Muslim backlash — which never happens, by the way. To them, the real victims are Muslims; forget the eight who died in New York City on Halloween. The Islam apologists are crawling out from under their rocks and Muslim-splaining us on the real meaning of the phrase “Allahu akbar,” which was shouted during Tuesday’s attack.

Eric Nagourney, writing for The New York Times, wants to reassure everyone that “Allahu akbar” is just a simple, “everyday phrase” used by Muslims worldwide and many times to wish others well. There’s nothing to fear, he writes, it simply means “God is great.” Nagourney laments that the phrase has been “intertwined with terrorism.” The writer quotes a random Muslim in his article, H. A. Hellyer, who regularly offers the phrase to fellow Muslims and welcomes it back from them.

“Many Westerners may find it hard to believe these days, but Mr. Hellyer does not recoil in fear [when he hears, 'Allahu Akbar'],” states Nagourney.

And though he mentions the recent jihad in New York City and several other Islamic attacks across the globe where “Allahu akbar” was the last sound many heard before they died, Nagourney insists the phrase “is so commonplace a saying as to be utterly unworthy of note.” He then lists several instances suggested by an Egyptian author that paints the phrase as no different than a common greeting:

“You can say ‘Allahu akbar, Allahu akbar, Allahu akbar,” and you’re pushing them along, like, “Go for it, go for it, go for it.’”

“You see a really beautiful woman or a good-looking guy, you go, ‘Allahu akbar.’”

Nagourney does back bends to convince readers the phrase has been “seized on by jihadists,” much like Linda Sarsour when she tries to explain that “jihad” means nothing less than “struggle.” So, when she called for jihad against President Trump, she only means "resist." Got it.

Yet, after all of the gymnatics, Nagourney finally concedes that “there is no denying that what it means can depend on who is saying it.” Yeah, we’ve noticed.

But the NYT wasn’t the only outlet whitewashing Islam for us clueless Westerners. CNN was at it, too, securing a piece by Imam Omar Suleiman, the founder and president of the Yaqeen Institute for Islamic Research and an adjunct professor of Islamic Studies at Southern Methodist University. He desperately wrote the day after the NYC attack:

Contrary to what many people seem to think, the words "Allahu Akbar" simply mean "God is greater." It is a powerful declaration used by Muslims on many occasions and in many prayers. It is a celebration of life, the first words fathers whisper in the ears of their newborns. They are used to indicate gratitude when God bestows something upon you that you would have been incapable of attaining were it not for divine benevolence. It is a prayerful phrase that reminds us that, no matter what our concerns may be, God is greater than them…

Is "Allahu Akbar" sometimes used as a battle cry? Yes, though as Sen. John McCain has argued on Fox News, that does not make the phrase itself abhorrent. While noting that "moderate Muslims" also say "Allahu Akbar," McCain said the phrase is no more troubling that a Christian saying "Thank God."

Forgive us for not buying it, because a search for how many people have been bombed, shot, or ran over after someone shouted, “Thank God,” returned exactly zero results. There is a particular phrase, however, that is shouted before violent acts, but the leftist media doesn’t want anyone taking that out of “context.”

Gov. Jerry Brown Leaves Behind HUGE Carbon Footprint Traveling to Hype Climate Change

California Governor Jerry Brown is in Europe right now on a climate change tour where he will be the keynote speaker at the Vatican’s Pontifical Academy of Sciences. He will spend 14 days hopping around the continent giving lectures on the coming global catastrophe caused by man’s irresponsibility — like burning thousands upon thousands of gallons of jet fuel.

Brown has been a climate hypocrite for years, using private planes to jet across the globe and spread the global warming alarmist gospel. He says things like, “Human-induced climate change is a scientific reality, and its effective control is a moral imperative for humanity.” Apparently, that doesn’t include the 18,000 miles he will travel to Italy, Belgium, Norway, and Germany before heading back to the states for a meeting in New York City at the United Nations Headquarters. It seems the only imperative is that he gets from place to place in the most convenient form of travel possible. (Notice he’s not biking to any of these meetings.)

Without any irony, the governor told the LA Times, “While the White House declares war on climate science and retreats from the Paris Agreement, California is doing the opposite and taking action. We are joining with our partners from every part of the world to do what needs to be done to prevent irreversible climate change.”

Taking action, indeed. It has been reported that a coast-to-coast round-trip flight in the U.S. is the equivalent of 2 or 3 tons of carbon dioxide per person.

Is he really doing all he can to “prevent irreversible” warming? Well, let’s see.

In 2015, Brown flew to the same Vatican conference with 10 U.S. mayors — all Democrats, of course — where he bashed skeptics of his plight. He flew on a private jet, donated (at a $56,440 value) by Silicon Valley real estate tycoon George Marcus. And don’t forget the fleet of gas-guzzling SUVs that will drive him everywhere he goes once he lands and those that will meet him when he gets back home.

And what does all of this climate hypocrisy earn Gov. Brown? It earned him a seat on Obama’s U.S. delegation for the Paris agreement, among other honors, including Special Climate Advisor for his work with China and Canada on climate deals.

With all of that mileage, one thing is sure: the governor really cares about the environment and how man is ruining it.

Muslim Rapist Launches Appeal: Too Many White Catholics on Jury, ‘Islamophobic’

A convicted rapist has launched an appeal in an Ireland criminal court because he believes the jury was too white and Catholic to give him, a Muslim, a fair trial.

According to Breitbart London:

Ronan Munro, the senior counsel for the defence, said that Islamophobia would mean the jury had preconceptions about how Muslims treat women and complained that the judge had not spoken about religion or the fact the man was married to the victim.

During the trial, it was alleged that the man told his wife that she was a “commodity” he could have sex with whenever he wanted because they were living together, he explained.

The jury of 11 men and one woman, including one non-white person, convicted him of raping his wife at their home in May 2014 and of threatening to cut her face and kill her.

Munro said because Muslims are a “hot topic” these days, the jury should have been given a tailored warning.” The attorney also complained about how Ireland is “awash with Islamophobia” which keeps Muslims off of jury selection panels.

However, prosecutors say no one made an issue of the man’s religion because no questions were asked about it, nor was it brought up, during the trial. It was a clearcut case of rape and the man was sentenced to 12 years in prison.

Of course, this isn’t the first time a Muslim has blamed Islamophobia for his own conviction, as Breitbart noted:

The leader of one of the Rotherham grooming gangs, Shabir Ahmed, has also used claims of ‘Islamophobia’ to challenge his rape convictions.

Mr. Ahmed lost an appeal against his possible deportation at the European Court of Human Rights (ECHR), claiming that his all-white jury breached his human right to a fair trial.

He claimed members of the jury passed details to racists and said his convictions were a conspiracy by police and members of the jury to “scapegoat” Muslims.

Germany: 30,000 Failed Asylum Seekers Go Missing

More than 30,000 migrants due for deportation have gone missing under Merkel’s watch. The government has no clue to their whereabouts, German newspapers report.

Putting a spin on the situation, a spokesman for the Interior Ministry told reporters that some of these migrants may have self-deported. Despite this wishful thinking, it is more likely that most of these illegal immigrants are still within the country and have simply gone underground.

The news comes as Germany faces an imported crime wave. This year, police registereda more than 50 percent rise in crimes committed by immigrants. Going by the prevalent trend of underreporting migrant crime in Germany, the actual figures may be much higher.

Not just the law enforcement, but the German judiciary, too, has been clogged by asylum seekers. Courts are struggling to deal with the wave of cases filed by the migrants appealing the rejection of their asylum application. “The number of asylum cases being dealt with by German courts has risen by almost 500 percent in the past year,” reportedthe German public broadcaster Deutsche Welle.

German newspaper Die Welt covered the ‘missing-migrant’ story:

More than 30,000 refugees, whose asylum applications had failed and were due for deportation, have gone missing without informing the authorities, media reports say. A spokesperson for the Interior Ministry told the Bild Zeitung, “It cannot be ruled out that some of these people, due for deportation according to the Central Foreigners Register, have left the country or have gone underground without the Immigration Office noting the change in their status.”

The newspaper [Bild Zeitung] came up with the figure of 30,000 by calculating the difference between the number of migrants due for deportation and those collecting welfare benefits. According to the data taken from the Central Foreigners Register maintained by the government, 54,000 individuals were marked for deportation by the end of December 2016. German Statistical Office could only account for 23,000, the report said.  [Translation by the author]

The Police unions and people involved with the law enforcement have spoken up about the deteriorating law and order situation caused by migrants, only to be silenced by German politicians or labelled as bigots and racists by the media.

Last December, when the head of Germany’s Police Union, Rainer Wendt, warned that not everyone coming into the country was an asylum seeker and there were hardened criminals among the migrants, he was slammed by all the major political parties in Germany.

Ralf Stegner, deputy leader of the Social Democrats, Merkel’s junior coalition partner, called Wendt’s remarks "politically disgusting and stupid as one can get." A prominent German judge called Wendt "the Donald Trump of domestic politics" for daring to make the obvious connection between illegal immigration and crime. Calling someone ‘Trump’ is apparently the worst insult a liberal can come up nowadays with.

For Merkel and Germany’s ruling elite it is more important to shut out dissenting voices and carry on with their virtue signaling than to ensure the safety and well-being of ordinary Germans.

As for Merkel’s missing migrants: they won’t be missing for long. They will soon be resurfacing in Germany’s crime records.

Camille LeNoir played college basketball at the University of Southern California. She was also a WNBA player for the Washington Mystics. Using that experience, LeNoir looked for a chance to fulfill her dream of becoming a coach and was offered a job at New Mexico State University. However, her dreams came crashing down when her new employer rescinded the offer after he saw a six-year-old online video in which she explained that her Christian faith had led her to walk away from homosexuality.

Two days before she was to fly to New Mexico, Mark Trakh, who was a coach at the university, said what he heard in the video was troublesome and doesn't align with the university. LeNoir had said, “If you are in a same-sex relationship, it is not worth losing your soul… You can overcome and defeat sin.”

“Whoever you’re in that relationship with, like the Lord told me, it will be the death of you,” she said in the 2011 video.

In addition to being told to stay home, LeNoir said Trakh told her to take the video down or she would never “work in this industry,” The Blaze reports. The university says that her updated beliefs on homosexuality “would have an adverse impact… [on her] ability to effectively coach and recruit players who identify as LGBT.”

She is now suing the university for discrimination, a charge the school denies. It is also noted that a California judge will preside over the case.
