Divided GOP unites by attacking Hillary Clinton

House GOP leaders open probe into FBI's handling of Clinton investigation

Republicans say doubling down on investigating Hillary Clinton is a smart strategy in the coming months as the cloud from special counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation looms over the White House.
Even though Clinton does not hold public office anymore, they say she remains the one person who can rally the Republican base and unify a splintered party constantly bickering with itself.
And the Republicans making this pitch aren’t just the Breitbart News crowd.
GOP strategist Doug Heye, an establishment Republican who is no friend of Trump, said he constantly hears from people within the party frustrated over the investigations into the president.
“The thing I hear over and over again from Republicans is that they’re tired of investigating Trump, and ‘Why isn’t Hillary and Loretta Lynch being investigated more?’ ” said Heye, who has offered frequent public criticism of the president.
“That is part of the cycle of talk radio speaking to voters and voters going back to their respective members of Congress and echoing that message.”
Strategist Susan Del Percio, also an establishment Republican who frequently slams Trump, agreed, saying while “it may not be the best policy strategy, it certainly is a good political strategy.”
“When it comes to the president, he must always have an enemy to punch at,” she said, adding that “it’s actually a pretty safe strategy.”
Congressional Republicans worried about their lack of legislative wins after 10 months of a unified GOP government — and anxious about next year’s midterms — have jumped on the bandwagon.
House Republicans announced separate investigations last week into Clinton.
GOP lawmakers on the House Judiciary and Oversight and Government Reform committees said they would investigate how the FBI handled last year’s probe into Clinton’s use of a private email server as secretary of State.
The probe also touches on former FBI Director James Comey. The panels say they want to learn more about the FBI’s decision to openly declare its investigation into Clinton while quietly investigating Trump’s campaign, and they want to know why the FBI decided to notify Congress of the Clinton probe.
Separately, the Senate Judiciary Committee, the House Intelligence Committee and the House Oversight committee have launched probes into the sale of a uranium company with holdings in the U.S. to the Russian nuclear giant Rosatom.
The sale was approved by an intergovernment panel that included the State Department, then run by Clinton.
Rep. Chris Collins (R-N.Y.), one of Trump’s staunchest defenders on Capitol Hill, said the actions will invigorate a conservative base still angry that Clinton was never officially punished for the various scandals swirling around her campaign.
“Clinton is radioactive,” he said, hinting at the visceral distaste for Clinton among many conservatives. “[Bill Clinton] disappointed a lot of people, but Bill was a nice guy. Hillary isn’t.”
Democrats aren’t surprised by the attacks, but say they are unfair.
“The Clintons have been a target of the right-wing movement for the last 25 years, and nothing will change that,” said Rep. Hakeem Jeffries (D-N.Y.), head of the Democrats’ communications arm.
Democrats can win the messaging war over the Clintons, he said, if they’re careful not to take the bait and focus instead on bread-and-butter economic issues that resonate with the working class.
“Trump is playing to his base by attacking Hillary Clinton,” Jeffries said. “We as Democrats can’t be distracted by the latest shiny object that Donald Trump puts in front of us, and should remain focused on our effort to improve the economic well-being of the American people, and allow the Russia investigation to play itself out.”
Adam Parkhomenko, a longtime Clinton ally who helped found the super PAC Ready for Hillary, called it a sign of desperation, particularly on the heels of this week’s news that former Trump campaign foreign policy adviser George Papadopoulos pleaded guilty to lying to the FBI about his contacts with Russia.
The news brings Trump ever closer to Clinton World’s assertion that the Trump campaign colluded with Russia.
“They don’t have a lot of options in appealing to their base,” Parkhomenko said. “They’re desperate to try and change the subject and even if they make some headway in their attempt, again, to waste taxpayer money and politically and unethically undermine the oath of office they took to serve, it’s all crumbling around them right now.”
Even Republicans say the Mueller indictments complicate the GOP case.
“It’s a good political maneuver but I’m not certain it holds a lot of weight when you look at the headlines around George Papadopoulos,” said GOP strategist Shermichael Singleton, who served as a top aide to Ben Carson
Still, in the coming months, Singleton predicted that Republicans would continue to press the issue.
“I think they’re going to try and move forward but I don’t think it’s going to get a lot of attention,” he said.
Instead, Singleton recommended that they put their capital on passing legislation — such as tax reform.
“If they go the entire year without accomplishing anything, that’s not good with major elections coming up in 2018,” he said.
Other Republicans argue that Trump’s focus on the former secretary of State will help restore the voters’ dwindling faith in their elected officials.
“There is just major dissatisfaction on the part of the electorate with … the entire belief that there may be a set of different rules for different people,” said Rep. Chuck Fleischmann (R-Tenn.).
Democrats were shocked by Trump’s victory, Fleischmann added, because they were so enamored with the Clinton legacy that they couldn’t see her flaws.
“It was almost like it was a Democratic love affair with all things Clinton, and they paid a dear price for that,” he said.

Democrats Outraged By Hillary's Latest Exposure: ‘We Were Blatantly Misled’

Misled? A tiger can't change its stripes.

Hillary Clinton's corruption has once again been exposed, and it's causing quite the stir in the defeated Democratic Party. Thursday’s disclosure by former Interim Democratic National Committee chair Donna Brazile that Hillary rigged the 2016 primary has brought chaos and in-fighting to the forefront.
According to The Washington Post, Democratic Party leaders and former employees of Bernie Sanders’s campaign have verbalized their shock and indignation over the news.
The idea of Clinton sinisterly conspiring to vanquish her electoral enemy isn't exactly fresh. Sanders himself alleged impropriety the day after the primary. And others knew of the effort. Brazile had conferred mid-election with Ray Buckley, chairman of the party in New Hampshire, and shown him the scandalous agreement between Hillary and the DNC, granting Clinton critical control over the organization’s finances and strategy leading up to the primaries. Recalling the illumination of that exchange, Buckley stated:
“The day that Donna discovered this, she called me and I almost passed out…We were blatantly misled.”
Jeff Weaver, campaign manager for the Sanders effort, expressed his anger over the staffing at the DNC:
“We were not offered veto power on staff at the DNC, I can tell you that…This was a laundering operation.  They’d go to fundraisers, they’d get a $350,000 check from donors which was supposed to be divvied up.  Instead of disbursing that money, they’d turn around and run a small-dollar fundraising to generate small contributions that went to the Clinton campaign.”
According to Weaver, the DNC did at some point offer to create a joint-funding accord between the two campaigns, but the Sanders camp declined.
Clinton’s corrupt campaign left more than just Sanders damaged in its wake. For its refusal to be part of the degeneracy, Nebraska’s Democratic Party was saddled with $35,000 in debt after the November election. Chairwoman Jane Kleeb divulged:
“Nebraska never even signed the JFA (Joint-Funding Agreement) because we…didn’t want to be a funnel for, essentially, money-laundering…And now we learn that a small group of establishment Democrats got to determine who our nominee was. That goes against everything that Democratic values are built on.”
These reactions and revelations come as Democratic senator Elizabeth Warren was interviewed yesterday on CNN’s The Lead, where she was asked directly if she believed Brazile’s claim that Hillary rigged the nomination process. Warren put it succinctly: “Yes.”
When asked if she was shocked by Brazile’s news, Warren called it a “real problem,” and said that the DNC must be held “accountable.”
Hillary Clinton holds the distinction of being the most notoriously corrupt candidate in recent times to vy for the Oval Office. After her crushing defeat in November, it seemed as if the world may have heard the last of her scandalous activities. But to quote a traditional folk song, "What's done in the dark will be brought to the light." It's amazing just how much "dark" exists in the world of Hillary Rodham Clinton.

'Superstore' Tries Homemade Obamacare, Ends Up Good Ol' Capitalists

"This idea seems really not well thought out and...totally naive."

In Thursday’s episode of NBC’s Superstore, the gang at the big box store ventures into the virtuous world of socialized medicine. However, the show's takeaway is quite different from the characters' initial idea.
The employees are suffering from the woes of their horrible insurance. One employee is stuck on a half-year waiting list, and the high deductible of everyone's insurance is prohibitive. Therefore, the character Jonah has an idea: the group will start a fund to which everybody contributes evenly, and when someone is in need, the financial resources will be ready for use.
The plan receives some resistance: Isaac says it sounds like socialism. Someone responds with an ignorant endorsement of the repressive economic system which is the gateway drug to communism. Of course, there is no counterpoint offered:
Jonah: So, instead of relying on the jar method, we would each contribute 20 bucks a month, and then the fund grows, and then we pay it out--
Employee: Slow your roll. This sounds like a pyramid scheme.
Jonah: Guys, this is not a pyramid scheme, okay? A pyramid scheme needs to recruit. This — what’s — this is -- Technically, this is recruiting, but--
Amy: Oh, I think this is going really well.
Isaac: Well I smell socialism, and we all know where that leads.
Garrett: High literacy rates, low infant mortality, increased quality of life, fjords.
Isaac: Uh, no, the government watching us on the toilet.
Amy: Hey, guys, look. I know that this idea seems really not well thought out and that it's totally naive. That's all I wanted to say.
Anti-socialism Isaac is portrayed as a conspiracy theorist, of course.
But as the group’s communal fund grows, so does their subsequently encouraged casual use of it. Before long, the demand exceeds the supply. Amy notes, “So in the first four hours, you’ve managed to commit us to $37,000.”
In the end, the group reaches a conclusion: in order for their system to work, different people need to pay different amounts, not according to their ability, but rather, according to their need. Karl Marx would not be pleased. In the end, the show filled a prescription the whole world needs -- one for the truth.

WATCH: Far-Left Teacher Tells Conservative Student She’s Smarter than the Dictionary

Settle in for the most entertaining 10 minutes of your day.

Here’s a little something that might restore some of your faith in future generations.
A high school student posted a video to YouTube of a recent in-class debate with a far-left teacher who is so woke, she’s smarter than the dictionary! At least, that’s what she tells him when he presents her with solid facts about police violence and black-on-black crime that she doesn’t agree with. Why is she so smart? She went to college and stuff.
“You’re dealing with a highly intelligent woman, yeah,” the teacher proclaimed.
She also accused the young man of being a product of “white supremacy,” even though he is Latino. Don’t question her; she’s the smartest person around.
The student described the scene:
She was talking loudly about Trump and I am one of the few right-wingers in my school. So she asked me why I supported him seeing as how I am Latino, and he hates us. I responded saying that he doesn't hate Latinos, he just wants to remove Illegals from the US. It then shifted to how there are a war on blacks and other minorities because of cop killings, and stated that the FBI statistics I was using were skewered because it was seeded on white supremacy. It finally shifted to where she said how when its a Muslim attack, its labelled terrorism, but Vegas was not since he was white. I told her that so far, unless something turns up, we have not found any political or religious aims, and therefore it cannot be viewed as a terrorist incident because the definition of terrorism states violence in the pursuit of political aim (((anti-fa))). At that point, she claimed multiple times the dictionary was wrong and that she knew more than it.
I was only able to capture 90% of the confrontation. Sorry for low quality and my slight stuttering, it comes and goes randomly I have no idea why.
Who wouldn’t stutter at such stupidity?
It’s great to see someone so young and brought up in the leftist indoctrination camps commonly referred to as public schools, yet have such solid arguments and delivery of facts. Keep it up, young man.

Bitter Twitter Employee Deactivates President Trump’s Account on Last Day of Job

Leftists celebrated the moment of silence.

President Trump’s Twitter account was pulled offline for 11 minutes Thursday evening by a bitter employee who wanted his or her last day on the job to be a memorable one.
Twitter users were surprised to see the page gone as the president is a regular user of the platform to spell out his agenda. And some, including NBC News, enjoyed the silence.
“For a very brief time on Thursday, the world saw what life would be like without President Donald Trump being on Twitter,” Alyssa Newcomb writes in her report. She added that, “[Q]uite a few Twitter users admitted they would never forget the ‘minutes of peace’ they had while Trump was offline.”
Newcomb used several of those reactions to end her gleeful story:
“We’ll all remember where we were during the 10 minutes of peace while Donald Trump’s Twitter account was down.”
“I think it was all of three minutes but it felt like a lifetime of happiness.”
“I think we just came together as a nation for 23 seconds.”
Initially, Twitter stated that Trump’s account “was inadvertently deactivated due to human error by a Twitter employee.” After 11 minutes, it was restored and Twitter continued its investigation. Later the company announced that it was, in fact, an employee who wanted to leave a lasting impression on his/her/xe’s last day:
"Through our investigation we have learned that this was done by a Twitter customer support employee who did this on the employee’s last day. We are conducting a full internal review."
Trump responded with this mic-drop:
