Pelosi Suffers Another Loss In Congress

(RepublicanInformer.com)- The number of Democrat House members who won’t be seeking reelection in November now stands at 29.

Last Tuesday, Tennessee Congressman Jim Cooper, who has served in Congress since 1983, announced that he would not be running in the upcoming midterm elections.

Cooper’s announcement comes after the Tennessee legislature voted to alter his blue-leaning Nashville-area district by dividing it into three separate districts.

Cooper, who was a member of the Democrats’ moderate Blue Dog Coalition, acknowledged that his decision not to run again was largely due to the Republican-led redistricting map. He blasted the Tennessee General Assembly for “dismembering Nashville” and said despite his strength in the polls, he was unable to stop “the gerrymandering” that divided his district.

Cooper’s decision not to run was welcomed by America First Republican Robby Starbuck who announced his campaign to challenge Cooper over the summer.

When Starbuck first announced his candidacy in June, he immediately gained endorsements from a wide array of conservative pundits as well as America First members of Congress.

But after Cooper announced last week, establishment Republicans in DC, indifferent to Starbuck, suggested that former Jeb Bush supporter Morgan Ortagus should run to replace Cooper.

In no time, former President Donald Trump landed himself in hot water when he released a statement saying he would endorse Ortagus if she decided to run in November.

This did not go over well among the America First supporters backing Robby Starbuck.

Kentucky Senator Rand Paul, North Carolina Congressman Madison Cawthorn, Florida Congressman Matt Gaetz, Georgia Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene, along with conservative pundits like Candace Owens, Tammy Bruce, and Dinesh D’Souza criticized the former president’s decision to endorse Ortagus over Starbuck and reiterated their support for Starbuck’s campaign.

Congressman Gaetz noted that Morgan Ortagus, who has not declared that she is running, supported Jeb Bush in 2016. Ortagus was also criticized for, among other things, posing with Joe Biden and having Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg officiate her wedding.

As the blowback against Trump’s kneecapping of Starbuck’s campaign reached a fever pitch, it was reported that Donald Trump Jr. and Trump’s social media director Dan Scavino were privately voicing their displeasure at what even Trump’s inner circle is admitting was an ill-advised endorsement.

Spain Passes Law to Put Pro-Life People in Prison for Praying Outside Abortion Clinics (I Feel They Fear The Power Of Prayer, & They Should)cc

Pro-life voices are being silenced all across the world.

On Thursday, Spain’s Congress of Deputies passed a bill that would punish pro-life sidewalk counselors with jail time just for reaching out to pregnant mothers outside abortion facilities, Spanish News Today reports. The legislation passed in a 204-144 vote in the lower house and now moves to the Senate for consideration.

Abortion activists claim its purpose is to prevent women seeking abortions from being harassed, but pro-life sidewalk counselors are overwhelmingly peaceful.

Even praying outside abortion facilities would be criminalized if the legislation passes. According to the report, “… people who harass women entering abortion centers or the staff that work in them ‘through offensive, intimidating or coercive’ acts, such as taunting or praying” could be punished with jail time.

“Prayer is not freedom of expression if the end result is coercion,” according to a statement from a pro-abortion feminist group that supports the bill, Spanish News Today reports.

The bill also does not require there to be a complaint from the woman seeking an abortion for the pro-lifer to be prosecuted, the report states. This means pro-lifers could go to jail for helping pregnant mothers who welcome the information and support that they provide.

Spark Chronicles reports pro-lifers who pray or reach out to women in violation of the ban could be sentenced to up to 12 months in prison and up to 80 days of community service.

All across the world, abortion activists are working to erode free speech rights through legislation like the Spain bill. In the U.S., a number of major cities have “buffer zone” ordinances that prohibit pro-life advocates from doing outreach within a certain number of feet of an abortion facility.

In England, a man in a wheel chair was arrested in 2019 for praying for women and unborn babies outside an abortion facility in West London. And last year, Western Australia lawmakers passed a massive 150-meter buffer zone around abortion facilities with up to 12 months in jail for violators.

Buffer zones violate pro-life advocates’ freedom of speech and hurt mothers and babies. Outside abortion facilities across the world, pro-lifers offer information and resources to help parents choose life for their babies. They provide information and support that abortion facilities often do not, such as facts about fetal development and pregnancy/parenting resources in the community. Many pro-lifers also pray for those victimized by the abortion industry and offer counseling and other help to post-abortive women.

The abortion industry knows that pro-life sidewalk counselors help mothers choose life for their unborn babies — thus cutting into their profits. Pro-abortion groups spend huge amounts of money lobbying lawmakers to pass buffer zones, which make it harder for pro-lifers to offer the help that so many mothers are desperately seeking for themselves and their babies.

Abortion Hasn’t Eliminated Poverty or Racism, It Has Just Eliminated Children Opinion | Bonnie Finnerty | Feb 4, 2022 | 4:29PM | Washington, DC

Abortion Hasn’t Eliminated Poverty or Racism, It Has Just Eliminated Children

Opinion  |  Bonnie Finnerty  |   Feb 4, 2022   |   4:29PM   |  Washington, DC

February, designated as Black History Month, is a time to note and celebrate the many achievements of African Americans.  While a multitude of inspiring stories are recounted this month, there are countless others whose stories remain unspoken. That’s because so many Black voices have been silenced.  Their potential left unrealized. Their contributions rejected. They are Black children who were aborted.

And there are many. Abortion disproportionately affects the Black community.  While African Americans account for 12% of the population in Pennsylvania, in 2020 Black women accounted for 44% of the abortions in the state.

That trend extends nationwide. Across the country, on average Black women are 4 to 5 times more likely to abort than white women. Tragically, it is estimated that the majority of pregnancies (52%) in the Black community end in abortion. More Black children are being killed in the womb than brought into the world. (see Blackgenocide.org)

This racial disparity stems from the very founding of the abortion industry, dating back to a movement that originated in eugenics. Planned Parenthood was recently forced to distance itself from its founder, Margaret Sanger, who referred to the Black community and other minorities as “human weeds,” warning that “We do not want word to go out that we want to exterminate the Negro population….”

But that was exactly the underlying agenda of the American Birth Control League, the precursor to Planned Parenthood. Today, the vast majority (79%) of Planned Parenthood surgical abortion facilities are deliberately planted within walking distance of minority neighborhoods.

In a faint effort to be politically correct, Planned Parenthood took Margaret Sanger’s name off a building in New York. Yet, every single day they continue to target for extermination the very people she saw as less desirable.

Illogically, abortion supporters allege that any law restricting abortion is racist, harming people of color. But what could hurt the Black community more than killing the next generation?  Depopulating them?  Wounding the women who bear life and alienating the men who are supposed to protect and provide for children? Weakening their families?

America’s Black community would be 36% larger today if not for abortion. There would be 20 million more beautiful Black faces dotting our cultural landscape, enriching our schools, our communities, our workplaces, our families. There would be so much more Black History to celebrate.

Legalized abortion has not eradicated poverty, racial disparity, or domestic abuse. It has simply eradicated children who committed no offense. While the abortion of any child of any race is tragic, the decimation of Black children at the current rate is alarming in its demographic impact.

Abortion is the number one cause of death for Blacks. Some estimate that if this trend continues for the next 30 years, Black voting power, Black families, and Black people will be nearly extinct, realizing the vision of Sanger and other eugenicists. (See maafa21.org)

But it doesn’t have to be this way. Rather than promote abortion, we could address the root causes of why abortion is sought.  We could empower young women with the resources needed to bring life into the world, and support them in ways that will lift them out of their difficult circumstances.

That is what hundreds of maternity homes and pregnancy resource centers across our country do every day.  Just imagine if we amplify that effort, giving it much more attention and funding, rerouting taxpayer money that is handed to the abortion industry and using it instead to actually give life and hope.

True racial justice means ending the Black Genocide. Only then can future generations celebrate a more robust and beautiful Black History, one that welcomed the promise and potential that every single life holds.

One Courageous Pro-Life Democrat in Virginia May Save Bill to Ban Late-Term Abortions State | Micaiah Bilger | Feb 4, 2022 | 7:40PM | Richmond, Virginia

One Courageous Pro-Life Democrat in Virginia May Save Bill to Ban Late-Term Abortions

State  |  Micaiah Bilger  |   Feb 4, 2022   |   7:40PM   |  Richmond, Virginia

A “fiercely independent” Virginia Democrat put his support behind a pro-life bill this week that would ban late-term abortions on pain-capable unborn babies in the state.

WUSA 9 reports state Sen. Joseph Morrissey, D-Richmond, is the only pro-life Democrat in the state Senate, and his vote could be critical to passing the bill and saving unborn babies’ lives.

Sponsored by state Del. Nick Freitas, R-Culpepper, the Pain Capable Unborn Child Protection Act (House Bill 1274) would prohibit abortions after 20 weeks of pregnancy when strong scientific evidence indicates that unborn babies can feel pain.

The pro-life legislation advanced recently in the Republican-majority state House, and, though Democrats narrowly control the state Senate, one vote from a Democrat along with all Republicans could pass the bill. Lt. Gov. Winsome Sears, a pro-life Republican, can cast a tie-breaking vote.

On Thursday, Morrissey indicated that he would support the legislation, according to the report.

“I’m inclined to support Delegate Freitas’ bill – HB 1274,” Morrissey wrote in an email. “I have supported fetal pain bills since my days in the House of Delegates.”

The news outlet described the lawmaker as “a fiercely independent” politician who is “unafraid of bucking his own party.”

Still, the passage of the bill is not certain. Every Republican in the state Senate also would have to support it, and it would have to pass a Democrat-controlled committee first, the report noted.

New Gov. Glenn Youngkin is pro-life and likely would sign the legislation if it reaches his desk. He recently created a new “ambassador for unborn children” position in his administration.

By 20 weeks, strong scientific evidence indicates that unborn babies are capable of feeling pain. At this stage, unborn babies are nearly fully formed and rapidly approaching viability.

Polls consistently show strong public support for banning abortion after the first trimester.

The U.S. is one of just a handful of countries that allows abortion on demand through all nine months of pregnancy, and abortion activists are desperately trying to keep it that way. Despite what abortion activists claim, the laws that prohibit later-term abortions and those that require abortion facilities to meet basic health and safety standards are backed by strong scientific evidence and concerns about the well-being of women and children.
