Overcoming Doubt in Bible Reading

Embracing Faith Amidst Spiritual Challenges.

Many believers experience moments when reading the Bible feels more like a battle than a blessing. Doubts creep in, questions arise, and the once-clear truths seem clouded. If you've faced such struggles, you're not alone. Recognizing this challenge is the first step toward overcoming it.

1. Acknowledge the Spiritual Battle

Doubt isn't merely an intellectual issue; it's often a spiritual one. The enemy seeks to sow seeds of confusion and disbelief. Ephesians 6:12 reminds us, "For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against...the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places." Recognizing this helps us approach our doubts with the right perspective.

2. Pray for Divine Assistance

Before diving into Scripture, seek God's help. A heartfelt prayer can make a difference: "I believe; help my unbelief!" (Mark 9:24). This plea acknowledges our dependence on God to strengthen our faith.

3. Seek the Glory of Christ

When reading, aim to see the beauty and majesty of Jesus. As Thomas doubted until he saw Christ (John 20:27-28), we too can ask for a deeper revelation of His glory through the Word.

4. Reflect on God's Patience

Remember, God is patient with our doubts. When Peter's faith wavered, Jesus immediately reached out to him (Matthew 14:31). This demonstrates God's readiness to support us in our moments of uncertainty.

5. Engage with Faithful Community

Surround yourself with believers who can encourage and uplift you. Hebrews 3:13 advises, "But exhort one another every day...that none of you may be hardened by the deceitfulness of sin." A supportive community can bolster our faith during challenging times.

6. Utilize Scholarly Resources

The body of Christ includes scholars who've addressed many common doubts. Proverbs 11:14 notes, "Where there is no guidance, a people falls, but in an abundance of counselors there is safety." Don't hesitate to lean on the wisdom of others.

7. Persevere in Scripture Reading

Continue immersing yourself in the Bible, even when doubts arise. Romans 10:17 states, "So faith comes from hearing, and hearing through the word of Christ." Consistent engagement with Scripture strengthens our faith over time.

8. Meditate on God's Word

Psalm 1:2-3 describes the blessed person as one who delights in God's law and meditates on it day and night. Such a person is "like a tree planted by streams of water," resilient and fruitful. Deep reflection on Scripture nourishes our souls and fortifies our faith.

In conclusion, facing doubts during Bible reading is a common experience. By acknowledging the spiritual battle, seeking God's help, focusing on Christ's glory, remembering His patience, engaging with a faith community, utilizing scholarly resources, persevering in reading, and meditating on His Word, we can overcome these challenges and deepen our relationship with God.

Dems Fail To Block Law Protecting Kids by Anastasia Boushee March 3, 2025

Dems Fail To Block Law Protecting Kids

The Supreme Court has declined to hear Democrats’ challenge to a law protecting children from sexually explicit performances.

In 2023, Tennessee passed a law that banned sexually explicit performances in front of minors.

Democrats immediately melted down over the law, with one Memphis-based theater group filing a lawsuit against the state. The group, which calls itself “Friends of George’s,” tried to claim that it was a violation of their First Amendment rights to block them from doing sexual performances in front of children. The law was blocked after a federal judge agreed with the challenge in June 2023, claiming that it was “unconstitutionally vague and substantially overbroad.”

That challenge finally made it to the Supreme Court, which denied the group’s petition to hear their challenge to the law on February 24. This means that the previous ruling from the Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals will stand. In July, the court ruled 2-1 to allow the law to take effect.

Tennessee Republicans were quick to celebrate the Supreme Court’s decision.

“Another big win for Tennessee! Today, the U.S. Supreme Court declined to hear Friends of George’s v. Mulroy,” Tennessee Attorney General Jonathan Skrmetti wrote in a statement.

“Free speech is a sacred American value, but the First Amendment does not require Tennessee to allow sexually explicit performances in front of children,” Skrmetti added. “We will continue to defend TN’s law and children.”

Tennessee state Senate Majority Leader Jack Johnson, who authored the law, also issued a statement celebrating the news.

“This court decision makes it clear that sexually explicit performances belong in spaces for adults, not in front of kids,” Johnson’s statement read, according to The Center Square. “Just because an event is labeled ‘family-friendly’ doesn’t mean it’s appropriate for children or reflects Tennessee’s values. This law establishes a necessary legal standard, ensuring that what is truly family friendly is clearly defined.”

Johnson’s legislation was passed in the state’s Republican-controlled legislature in 2023, and was signed into law by Tennessee Gov. Bill Lee (R). A summary of the law explains that it “creates an offense for a person who engages in an adult cabaret performance on public property or in a location where the adult cabaret performance could be viewed by a person who is not an adult.”

The law was proposed in response to numerous reports of unbelievably inappropriate drag performances across Tennessee that were advertised as “family friendly,” but ended up being sexually explicit.

Trans Athlete Runs Alone After Female Competitors Refuse by Anastasia Boushee March 3, 2025

Trans Athlete Runs Alone After Female Competitors Refuse

A transgender runner “won” the women’s 400-meter dash after his two female competitors refused to take part in the race.

During the March 1 USA Track and Field (USATF) Open Masters Championships in New York, so-called “transgender” runner Sadie Schreiner “won” first place in the women’s 400-meter dash. However, the 21-year-old male only won because the competition because 17-year-old Anna Vidolova and 16-year-old Amaris Hiatt refused to run against him.

Both Vidolova and Hiatt were marked as “DNS,” which means “did not start,” while Schreiner “won” with a time of 56.74 seconds, which is a personal best for him. The male athlete competed as “unattached,” meaning an athlete with no team.

However, Schreiner did compete in other events against women, which he also won. He took first place in the 200-meter race, while 14-year-old Zwange Edwards came in second, 16-year-old Zariah Hargrove came in third. Leah Walker, 15, and Ainsley Rausch, 18, also took part in the competition, according to Fox News.

Vidolova also refused to run in the 200-meter race against Schreiner, as did several other female competitors, including 18-year-old Jordan Carr, 46-year-old Amanda Taylor, and 16-year-old Paula Damiens.

USATF policy allows so-called “transgender” athletes to compete in the women’s division, as it complies with International Olympic Committee policies. However, the USATF does require that “certain medical benchmarks be achieved before an athlete may compete as the opposite gender for medals, prize money and other benefits.”

Schreiner, whose real name is Camden, competed as a male in high school before “transitioning” and joining the girls’ Rochester Institute of Technology’s track and field team. His times racing while pretending to be a woman would barely register against male athletes. According to The Post Millennial, “Schriener previously came under fire while competing for Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT) after breaking numerous records in the 2023-24 indoor season. In the 2024 outdoor track season, Schriener won multiple women’s races in times that would have seen the athlete place last among the men.”

Popular X account Libs of TikTok previously called out Schreiner for his actions, writing: “Meet Camden. A male who just broke the women’s 300m record on his college’s women’s track team. Before he pretended to be a woman, he competed on the men’s team in highschool where was ranked in 19th place. Why is @RITtigers allowing a man to steal women’s track records.”
