86-year-old Maxine Waters (D-CA) has been melting down over Elon Musk’s DOGE finding waste, fraud, and abuse to cut from the budget.
Waters led an unhinged protest on Monday at the federal Department of Housing and Urban Development.

Democrats are quickly learning that no federal department is safe from Elon Musk and his team of DOGE auditors.
Donald Trump tasked Musk with leading the DOGE efforts to find at least $1 trillion in waste, fraud, and abuse to cut from the federal bureaucracy.
HUD Secretary Turner enthusiastically invited Elon Musk and the DOGE team to “identify and eliminate any waste, fraud, and abuse” within the department.
It didn’t take long for DOGE to uncover $1.9 billion in wasteful spending at HUD that had been misplaced.
“$1.9 billion of HUD money was just recovered after being misplaced during the Biden administration due to a broken process,” DOGE wrote on X
“These funds were earmarked for the administration of financial services, but were no longer needed,” DOGE continued. “@SecretaryTurner and @DOGE worked together to fix the issue and de-obligated the funds which are now available for other use by the Treasury.”
DOGE also found $4 million in DEI contracts within HUD that were terminated.
“Today, HUD Secretary Scott Turner cancelled $4 million in contracts promoting ‘diversity, equity, and inclusion’ (DEI),” A HUD release read. “This savings for the American taxpayer was found by the HUD DOGE Task Force.”
DOGE bringing accountability to HUD sent Maxine Waters into a fit of rage.
She fired off a letter demanding a hearing with Turner “so that the Committee can fully understand the impact of these actions on our nation’s worsening affordable housing and homelessness crisis.”
She said Turner has “partnered with unelected billionaire Elon Musk and the DOGE [Department of Government Efficiency] to terminate thousands of HUD employees who carry out the work of the agency – with further plans to substantially cut staffing levels in D.C. and local field offices.”
On Monday, Waters led a protest at HUD where she and Rashida Tlaib (D-MI) attempted to storm the building and deliver a letter to Secretary Turner.
But she was met at the door by HUD Chief of Staff Andrew Hughes.
Hughes offered to take the letter to Turner since he was in a meeting, but Waters rejected the offer and left the building.
In a video posted to X after the protest, an unhinged Maxine Waters ranted that Trump was a “deplorable, despicable, dishonorable human being.”
“He’s full of lies and deceit, and he’s aligned with Putin and Russia,” she ranted.
She then called for him to be “tried for treason.”
“He’s been bought and paid for by Elon Musk, and the two of them together want to be dictators,” she added.
A HUD spokesperson for Secretary Turner took the gloves off on Waters in a statement that she will hate.
“The Department appreciates the Congresswoman taking the time to travel to the agency, rather than attending to legislative business, when the House is in session,” the statement read. “While she has questions for the Department about how it is effectively and efficiently using taxpayer dollars, the department also has questions for her, including: Is it true that members of her family profited from her position as an elected official?” the statement continued. This was reported by the LA Times.
The statement then pointed out that Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics named her as the “most corrupt” member of Congress on four different occasions.
“Does she think she deserves to win the award four times?” the statement asked of Waters. “Would she be open to leading by example and allowing DOGE to ensure that she is using taxpayer dollars’ responsibility to serve Californians? If not, what does she have to hide?”
