Thwarted Massacre at Gaga Concert Proves Trump Was Right on Border Security

Luis da Silva has been apprehended for plotting a horrific attack at Lady Gaga’s recent concert in Rio de Janeiro. This case dramatically validates the Trump administration’s prioritization of deporting dangerous illegal immigrants and properly vetting those entering the country. Why don’t the mainstream media report dangerous criminals instead of calling them “sweethearts”?

Trump’s Deportation Policies Save Lives

A Brazilian national who was previously deported under the Trump administration has been arrested for planning a mass murder at a Lady Gaga concert in Rio de Janeiro. Luis da Silva, 44, allegedly intended to livestream the execution of children and detonate bombs during the concert, claiming the singer was a “Satanist.”

Da Silva was arrested along with a 17-year-old accomplice just hours before the concert was scheduled to begin. Authorities discovered their plans included using Molotov cocktails and explosive-laden backpacks at the event, which drew a record-breaking crowd of 2.5 million attendees.

DHS Confronts Media Misinformation

The Department of Homeland Security recently released a comprehensive list of facts to counter what they describe as false and misleading media stories during President Trump’s first 100 days in office. This effort aims to correct public perception about various high-profile deportation cases that received sympathetic coverage despite involving individuals with serious criminal backgrounds.

The list includes numerous examples of media distortions, such as portraying gang members, convicted criminals, and visa violators as innocent victims. In one case, Kilmar Abrego Garcia, linked to the notorious MS-13 gang, was deported despite media claims that the Supreme Court had ordered his return to the United States.

Border Security as a National Priority

Border czar Tom Homan has emphasized the administration’s strategy of prioritizing the deportation of the “worst” offenders first. This approach focuses limited resources on removing aliens who pose the greatest threat to public safety and national security.

The Lady Gaga concert plot represents a vindication of strict immigration enforcement policies that critics have often labeled as excessive. Despite the thwarted attack, Lady Gaga’s representatives stated they were unaware of any security threats before or during the concert, which proceeded without incident.

Xi Urges China to ‘Eat Bitterness’

As President Xi Jinping pushes for resilience under his “eat bitterness” philosophy amid the US-China trade standoff, the world watches how Trump’s tariffs shape global economics.

At a Glance

  • The trade war intensifies economic pressures in China due to Xi Jinping’s policies.
  • Protests rise as Trump’s tariffs impact China’s economy, leading to social unrest.
  • China’s strategy focuses on export reliance and undermines domestic consumption.
  • Xi Jinping reevaluates international tariffs while Trump’s administration faces industrial challenges.

Xi Jinping’s “Eat Bitterness” Philosophy

In the face of the ongoing trade war with the United States, Chinese President Xi Jinping has adopted the concept of “eating bitterness,” urging citizens to exhibit resilience amidst economic challenges. His policy significantly impacts societal and economic dimensions in China, emphasizing large-scale infrastructure and export growth over boosting consumer activities.

China’s economic framework relies heavily on external trade, leaving domestic consumption to account for a meager 40% of GDP. This model of dependency on exports, especially towards the US, along with limited household consumption, reveals vulnerabilities in the economic outlook.

Watch coverage here.

Trump’s Tariff Tactics

Former President Trump’s tariff policies aimed to address these economic imbalances, escalating economic strains within China. These tariffs have led to deflationary pressures, reduced tax revenues, and heightened unemployment rates, sparking widespread protests. The repercussions include plant closures, layoffs, and consequent social unrest in China.

“Eat Bitterness” – China’s Xi Jinping.

Xi’s strategic focus promotes self-sufficiency efforts through initiatives like “Made in China 2025.” Yet, this thrust runs parallel to insufficient investment in social welfare, compelling citizens to save for personal needs. This restraint on consumption further exacerbates economic challenges during the tariff standoff.

Implications on Global Standings

The situation prompts Xi to reevaluate tariffs on US imports and eye negotiations with Trump’s administration. Nonetheless, Trump faces domestic challenges, such as potential inflation spikes and industrial threats due to China’s critical minerals ban. Despite these, the article suggests Trump’s cooperation with US allies could enhance his strategy against China’s economic pressure.

“To promote common prosperity, we cannot engage in welfarism” – Xi.

Current economic strategies and ideological stances place China at a disadvantage in this trade war, and these tensions significantly impact their standing on the geopolitical stage. If Trump withstands domestic pressure, foreseeable setbacks for Xi may unfold, perpetuating this complex saga in the global arena.

The Hard Work of Forgiveness Your Nightly Prayer for May 8, 2025 by Greg Grandchamp TONIGHT'S SCRIPTURE "Bear with each other and forgive one another if any of you has a grievance against someone. Forgive as the Lord forgave you." - Colossians 3:13

TONIGHT'S SCRIPTURE

"Bear with each other and forgive one another if any of you has a grievance against someone. Forgive as the Lord forgave you." - Colossians 3:13

SOMETHING TO PONDER

You have been hurt deeply. By someone you love and trust, no less. And it is painful. Deeply painful. We have all experienced it at some point in our lives. Whether your parents, someone else in your family, a close friend, or someone at work. You’re feeling it, and you just can’t get over it. They have apologized, but you can’t find it in you to forgive them.

The question we must each ask ourselves is why. What is preventing us from forgiving someone who has offended us? Maybe we think they don’t really deserve it. Maybe we want to get them back and let them experience what it feels like. Then – and only then – you’ll forgive. But then we must also ask ourselves – what makes us think we deserve the forgiveness of God?

Perhaps the most amazing part of the good news of Jesus Christ is, that He died for us while we were still sinners. While we were still his enemy, He suffered and gave his life so we could be forgiven. That’s simply overwhelming when we let ourselves think about it. And it makes our forgiveness of others just a bit easier. God has offered us the mercy of forgiveness – and we are called to be merciful in the same way to others.

We must remember that forgiveness of others releases us from the bondage of anger and resentment. It releases the grudge we carry around with us that steals our peace and our joy. Our forgiveness may be meaningless to the ones who have hurt us. They may go on with their lives without a hint of remorse or guilt over what they have done. Their happiness remains while yours is tied up in knots. When we see them, we get a little twist in our gut – even, maybe especially, if we have never said anything to them about how they hurt us.

Often, we don’t know how to get there. Well, God knows that and His Spirit will help us if we’re honest with Him. If we seek His help. A good place to start is simply uttering the word, “I forgive” and then praying that the Lord will help you feel it and believe it.

YOUR NIGHTLY PRAYER

Glorious Father,
Thank you. Thank you for your forgiveness, for your mercy and grace. Thank you for sending your son to bear my sins. Please help me, Father. Help me to find it in my heart to forgive as you have forgiven me when I didn’t deserve it.
Amen

THREE THINGS TO PONDER

1. Who do you need to extend forgiveness to today?

2. Do you need to forgive yourself?

3. Ask God to direct your steps in forgiving yourself and others this evening.
