Late last year, former President Bill Clinton announced that the Clinton Global Initiative would be downsizing and ending annual meetings as of
2017. Now, it appears the organization is moving forward with these plans.
The Clinton Global Initiative is part of the Clinton Foundation, and it was started by Bill in 2005. Both the Clintons made the decision to
downsize it as the powerful family’s political influence wanes and its once-lengthy donor list shrinks.
Last week, it was announced that 22 additional employees are being laid off from the Clinton Global Initiative, which is known for it’s annual
gala that is attended by A-list Hollywood celebrities. One of the people who was laid off was the fundraiser for the organization. The Clintons
likely had no choice but to downsize, as millions of Americans now know that the Clinton Foundation is little more than an influence-peddling
scheme to enrich the Clintons, and has little if anything to do with “charity.”
