Planned Parenthood Abortion Business Permanently Closes Another Clinic

Planned Parenthood Abortion Business Permanently Closes Another Clinic

Another Planned Parenthood facility closed this week in Pennsylvania as the national abortion chain focuses more on abortion and politics and less on actual women’s health care.
The Planned Parenthood in Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania reduced its hours earlier this summer, and then announced plans to close completely several weeks ago, WBRE reports. On Wednesday, the facility closed permanently. The facility in the Poconos did not perform abortions but it did recommend and refer for them.
Melissa Reed, president and CEO of Planned Parenthood Keystone, hinted that the decision to close the facility was related to patient numbers and finances.
“It resulted from a careful analysis of where our patients live and seek medical care as well as an assessment of how best to ensure the longevity and strength of existing health centers,” Reed told the Pocono Record.
Stroudsburg Mayor Tarah Probst said she was devastated by the news and claimed the community will suffer because it no longer has a Planned Parenthood.
“You’re basically going to have people die because they’re not getting cancer screenings; you’re going to have people who aren’t ready to have a family have a family,” Probst told the local newspaper. “This is devastating. I can’t think of another word.”
Planned Parenthood has closed five facilities in Pennsylvania since last fall and 12 since 2013.
“That’s a 50% drop of Planned Parenthood Keystone’s facilities in under five years (18 facilities in 2013, now down to just nine),” according to the Pennsylvania Family Institute.
It is a reflection of a nation-wide trend. Across the country, the abortion chain has closedapproximately 20 facilities so far this year.
While abortion supporters blame the closings on pro-life advocates’ efforts to defund the abortion business of millions of tax dollars, Planned Parenthood’s own annual reports point to a bigger reason.
While receiving huge amounts of taxpayer funding under pro-abortion President Barack Obama, Planned Parenthood lost about half a million patients and performed fewer actual health services, such as pap smears and breast exams. The group’s abortion numbers, however, remained steady and its political involvement increased.
Every year, the abortion chain kills more than 300,000 unborn babies. In 2015, Planned Parenthood performed 328,348 abortions, nearly 5,000 more than the previous year, according to its annual report.
Based on its reports, election results and more, it seems that the abortion chain has fallen out of favor with the majority of Americans. Millions of people were shocked and disgusted to learn about Planned Parenthood’s baby body parts trade, and its abortion atrocities continue to be exposed.
Thousands of federally qualified community health clinics are available to take Planned Parenthood’s place, offering the same services and more – minus abortions.
In Pennsylvania, more than 300 community health clinics offer mammograms, prenatal care and other vital services that Planned Parenthood’s 24 facilities do not provide, and they see nearly ten times the number of patients that Planned Parenthood does, according to data from the Pennsylvania Health Center.
It’s more clear than ever that Americans do not need or want Planned Parenthood for health care.
