Who says crime doesn’t pay?

In the Big Apple, lawbreakers are about to be rewarded handsomely for their crimes.

Because New York City is going to pay BLM rioters for one unbelievable reason.

The city of New York has shockingly agreed to pay more than 300 Black Lives Matter rioters $21,500 each.

It’s all to settle a lawsuit over the crowd control tactics the NYPD used in response to the violent and destructive George Floyd riots in the summer of 2020.

The rioters say they were treated too aggressively

Four BLM rioters brought a lawsuit against New York City on behalf of themselves and other violent rioters and thugs.

These criminals claim they were subjected to “aggressive policing” while they rioted in the streets. They also claim the police used unjustified force by using batons, fists and pepper spray, to subdue protesters.

In a bizarre claim, the rioters say the police used “kettling” to subdue them.

“Kettling” is a process where police surround violent rioters to prevent them from escaping arrest.

Seems like “kettling” is  actually a very low key way to make arrests, not something that should be considered a crime in itself.Additionally, police were accused of excessively tightening plastic handcuffs on arrested protesters, “which caused pain, bruising and, in some cases, led to long-term injury.”

Oh no!  Maybe don’t try to burn down cities and destroy property and commit other crimes.

The lawsuit became a class action suit

The plaintiffs identified 320 people who fit their proposed class of demonstrators who were “detained and/or subjected to force by police while protesting police brutality on June 4, 2020 in the Mott Haven neighborhood of the Bronx.”

According to the lawsuit, several rioters were left bloodied by the clash with police.

Plaintiff Jarrett Payne said that after he and other rioters were handcuffed, a police officer standing nearby said to him, unprovoked, “you got what was coming to you.”

Well, yes, of course they did.

Initially, then-Mayor de Blasio said he had carefully reviewed evidence showing that rioters at the protest were prepared to commit and encourage violence and that he wanted the New York City Police Department to intervene, and that “they did it effectively.”

But by October 2020, de Blasio had a change of heart on his pro-police stance on the NYPD’s response to the riots, saying NYPD officers were “in the wrong” with their handling of the incident.

Now, an attorney for the plaintiffs has announced they had reached a settlement with the city after more than two and a half years of legal wrangling.

According to the agreement, each of the 320 people who met the class action suit’s description will receive $21,500, with an additional $2,500 awarded to each individual who was given a legal summons after they were arrested.

The agreement also covered all attorney’s fees for the plaintiffs who brought the lawsuit forward.

According to Fox News, the settlement is estimated to cost the city’s taxpayers between $4 million and $6 million.

In the end, the unfortunate truth is that the taxpayers are now going to be on the hook to pay violent leftist agitators for their questionable claims of bad behavior by police.
