On Monday President Biden received a lot of criticism after suggesting that American children belonged to the whole nation to raise and not just to their families.

During a speech in the White House Rose Garden honoring the 2023 national and state teachers of the year, Biden quoted a former teacher by stating, “There is no such thing as someone else’s child. No such thing as someone else’s child. Our nation’s children are all our children.”

This statement led to him receiving a lot of criticism on social media from both politicians and parents, who accused him of claiming that the political left claimed ownership over all the children across the nation.

One Critic wrote “This is that Hillary Clinton, it takes a village nonsense,” a reference to the former Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton’s controversial book, “Takes a Village.”

Sen. Tim Scott, R-S.C., also opposed Biden’s statement claiming that he is “absolutely wrong.” The 1776 Project PAC, a group focused on promoting candidates who would oppose including “woke” subjects in schools also entered the debate claiming that “The left believes they own your kids.”

Another critic took a far more direct approach stating that Hunter (Biden) is “on you.” This is a reference to the President’s son who in the past battled drug addiction and he is currently under federal investigation over his business practices.

Biden’s comments did not just remind people of Clinton’s “Takes a Village” but also of a liberal former MSNBC host who in a 2016 commercial had argued that the entire community should be responsible for taking care of children instead of their parents taking care of them.
