The people of Israel are under attack. Hamas has been terrorizing Israel with rockets in the south, killing and wounding Israelis while dealing more damage to roads, buildings, cars, and infrastructure. Hezbollah terrorists in the north have rained down rockets, anti-tank missiles, attack drones, mortars, and more. Israel’s missile defense systems have been tested again and again, shooting down many of the rockets headed for populated areas. Yet, many civilians and soldiers have been killed and wounded in the attacks. Homes, businesses, and military bases alike have been targeted and destroyed. About a quarter million people have been evacuated from northern Israel due to the nearly daily attacks. MAGEN DAVID ADOM, Israel’s emergency medical system, has tripled the number of paramedics and EMTs in the affected areas despite much of the population being relocated. Every day, the attacks continue. And every day, MAGEN DAVID ADOM responds to every call for help with ambulances, Medicycles, helicopters, and every tool available to save lives. Yet the violence is unlike what most people can imagine. Recently we have seen: A school bus filled with children was repeatedly shot at by terrorists, causing multiple injuries. An ambulance with patients on board was attacked — you can see the bullet holes in the windshield where they tried to kill the driver. A playground in the middle of a city square was directly hit by rocket fire in broad daylight. Another ambulance was destroyed by a rocket strike. And so much more.
Children and paramedics have become intentional targets of the terrorists. Yet, with every call for emergency help, the men and women of MAGEN DAVID ADOM courageously race into danger to save others. But this is only possible with your support. Israel’s bandages, ambulances, medical equipment, communications systems, and emergency training are provided almost exclusively by private donations, men and women with a heart for Israel. People just like you. Please pray that this terrible violence will end.
