The lukewarm church, in its quest for acceptance and relevance, will readily embrace the Antichrist's message. This church will downplay or dilute essential doctrines of indwelling Christian faith to align with the prevailing cultural and ideological trends. As 2 Timothy 4:3-4 warns, "For the time will come when people will not put up with sound doctrine. Instead, to suit their own desires, they will gather around them a great number of teachers to say what their itching ears want to hear.
