After Exposing Biden-Era Attacks On Christian Freedoms, Trump Makes YUGE Gesture In Support

Leftists blasting this as 'Christian Nationalism' or whatever in 3... 2... 1...

Remember how Biden was praised as the wonderful Catholic and Trump was mocked as a poser who only used the Bible for photo ops? A look at their policies shows that’s exactly backwards.

Trump’s first term emphasized religious freedoms and even raised it as an issue worthy of being brought to the UN. The 2024 campaign spotlighted those same freedoms which had taken an enormous step back in the Biden days.

Last week, the DOJ was releasing its initial findings on systematic anti-Christian discrimination across various branches of the Biden administration. This was not a ‘mistake’. This was intentional doctrine from the inner circle of President Autopen himself.

Examples of discrimination against Christians enumerated in the report ranged from targeting Catholics as ‘domestic terrorist threats’, to limiting humanitarian relief given to Christians, to not routinely improper handling of religious exemption COVID requests, to hiring biases in favor of non-Christians, FACE act enforcement against Christians, but not against violence against Christian clinics or centers of worship. The full detailed report is not expected until February, but it gives the contours of the anti-Christian bias Trump tasked Bondi with stamping out of the Executive branch.

Bondi spoke briefly on the topic yesterday as she introduced President Trump…

The full video of his speech itself is below, with time stamps from a few highlights marked for the readers’ benefit.

The fact that the speech was given at the Museum of the Bible would be itself enough to outrage many of the usual Bible-hating crititcs and NeverTrumpers. But he went further than just showing up there.

He praised the importance of the Holy Bible in America’s history, praised some kids standing up for their God Given rights (someone may need a coloring page to explain to Tim Kaine what that means. He was called out by name at the top of the speech), and announced an important policy change before making a very personal gesture to the museum itself.

At 3:50, he echoed John Adams and the other founders, who told us that a strong nation will require a people with a strong committment to faith in God.

11:50, he pivots from introductions, thank-yous and niceties to announcing that the family Bible his mother gave him on which he took both oaths of office would be donated to the Museum of the Bible.

After noticing a few more people for shout-outs, he continued with the story of Hannah Allen, from Honeygrove Texas (13:39). She organized a spontaneous prayer for an injured friend, and were chastened for having done so. She stood up and fought for her right to pray at school. More than that, Trump has issued guidance (14:48) that the Department of Education will defend the right of students to pray as sacrosanct and fully protected by law.

At 15:27, he moved on to a fifth-grader from California who was forced to read a book on gender ideology and tell his kindergarten friend he ‘could change his gender’. Shea Encinas fought the school. He and his family were singled out and bullied over it. But he was right in exercising his conscience. He was called up to speak to the audience at about 16:20.

At 20:14, after taking a detour down the ‘trans’ rabbit hole, Trump recounted the story of how he learned about theJohnson Amendment and how he set about putting an end to it, so that pastors and other religious leaders are free to speak their minds, without a political cudgel being held over the heads of supporters of (let’s be honest here) only one party.

At 24:16, he pivots to ending Biden’s weaponization of government against relgious belief, and his administration’s efforts in setting that right again, including law enforcement and court battles. He touched on the Minnesota attack on the church, and the subway killing where a young woman from Ukraine was viciously stabbed in the neck by someone sitting in the seat behind her, and talked about the changes he’s already seeing in DC, which would be especially relevant to an audience who was physically IN DC at the time, praising the work of Pam Bondi and others.

After a few more of his famous ‘swerves’ touching on what could be done to bring LA back from the brink, he hands off to Secretary Scott Turner to make an announcement at 42:46 about a new initiative called ‘America Prays’.

Here’s what the White House posted about it.
