A spate of incidents targeting synagogues put Jewish communities around the world on edge this week.
France: Police detained a knife-wielding man after harassed and chased Jews near a synagogue in the Paris suburb of Neuilly-sur-Seine.
United States: A man was arrested in Houston, Texas, following an attempt to enter a synagogue he had previously sent 30 menacing emails.
Colombia: Antisemitic vandals spray-painted the Sociedad Hebrea de Socorros synagogue with graffiti equating the Star of David to a Nazi swastika.
Other antisemitic incidents monitored by the Antisemitism Research Center (ARC) by CAM over the past week included a stabbing of an elderly Jewish woman in an Ottawa grocery store, an attack on an Israeli man at Santa Monica Pier in Los Angeles, an assault on an Israeli singer during a performance in Warsaw, Poland, and the defacement of a Holocaust memorial in Lyon, France, with "Free Gaza" graffiti.
22.9% of incidents recorded by the ARC this week were acts of violence or vandalism, up from 18.7% the previous week.
Australian Mayors Convene for Historic Summit Against Antisemitism
With antisemitism levels in Australia reaching unprecedented highs, more than 250 local leaders, representing nearly 100 municipal councils, gathered in Gold Coast this week for the first-ever Australian Mayors Summit Against Antisemitism, organized by CAM and chaired by Gold Coast Mayor Tom Tate.
Montana Tucker Visits Aid Distribution Center in Gaza
U.S. social media influencer Montana Tucker visited Israel this week on a CAM-organized trip and toured a Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF) aid distribution center in Rafah.
