The horrific assassination of activist and media personality Charlie Kirk last week was quickly exploited by antisemitic influencers to propagate baseless conspiracy theories accusing Israel of responsibility.
The scapegoating of Jews in the aftermath of shocking calamities is a millennia-old phenomenon, and its latest purveyors must be unequivocally denounced and ostracized.
Sharp Rise in Antisemitism in Spain
The Antisemitism Research Center (ARC) by CAM recorded 18 incidents of antisemitism in Spain over the past two weeks, a 260 percent increase from the preceding two weeks.
This rise coincides with growing anti-Israel hostility from the Spanish government, including PM Pedro Sánchez’s chilling suggestion that "nuclear bombs" would help Spain "stop the Israeli offensive" in Gaza.
Other notable antisemitic incidents documented by the ARC this week across the globe included:
- Canada: Vandals targeted two synagogues and a Jewish community center in Halifax, scrawling a Nazi swastika and the words "Jews did 9/11."
- England: A 37-year-old man was arrested following a series of antisemitic attacks on synagogues, schools, and Jewish homes in northwest London.
- Greece: A group of Palestinian men assaulted two Israeli tourists in Syntagma Square in central Athens.
Antisemitism Up 15.7% Globally in August
Monthly data released by the ARC this week showed a 15.7 percent jump in antisemitic incidents around the world in August 2025 compared to August 2024.
