Speaker Johnson To Dissenting Dems Blocking Troop Funding: ‘Bring It On!’
If Dems are hellbent on FIGHTING to hold troop funding hostage for insane priorities... let them try
Trump’s using unspent research dollars to make sure vets keep getting their paychecks. The Dems are big mad about it. Speaker Johnson has Trump’s back on this and he dares Dems to pick this as the hill they’ll die on.
Speaker Mike Johnson has already taken a lot of heat in his short tenure, but as far as messaging in this shutdown goes? He’s putting on an absolute clinic. With Dems deciding whether to fight Trump’s Troop funding EO in court… the Speaker is calling their bluff.
If they’re hellbent on setting themselves on fire like that, he knows they won’t listen to reason, and they’ve backed themselves into a rhetorical corner. He has no intention of letting them off easy. Do whatever you think you need to do. But we’re on the side of our troops.
Here’s the part that’s so damning about their little power play. Dems pretend they just want a few reasonable and innocuous demands to be met. That’s a lie.
They are neither reasonable NOR innocuous. They are more than a trillion dollars of hard-left wish list spending items in a year where the voting public made it clear that we do NOT trust Dems to hold power in any of the branches of government.
Aside from the credit we might give to the dogged tenacity they have of fighting like demons to retain every scrap of policy ground they had gained in past battles, even while in a complete minority position [are you paying attention, GOP?], we give NO credit for their policy goals.
That’s just it. What Dems leaders ANNOUNCE they are fighting for, and what the actual text of their bills tells us they are fighting for tell two very different stories.
Schumer, Jeffries and the circus of clowns they have running to friendly media outlets every day to gaslight us about the shutdown being someone ELSE’s fault, and how they are REALLY fighting for better health care and NOT for illegal aliens to get benefits the laws as written do not permit foreign nationals to acquire fall apart under scrutiny.
And the same Dems will accuse conservatives of ‘massive spending’ when such accusations serve them, are looking to add another Trillion to a budget deficit that Conservatives have been desperately trying to rein in… with Dems screaming bloody blue murder ever single step of the way.

The Democrat Government Shutdown is doing real harm to the American people. While Democrats continue to celebrate suffering, they demand $1.5 TRILLION in new partisan spending to end it.

• ENDING work requirements for able-bodied young men on Medicaid
• CUTTING $50B from rural hospitals
• RESTORING $500M for Leftist Media Outlets.
• Sending $5 billion OVERSEAS for “climate resilience,” “feminist organizing” & “LGBTQI+ Democracy Grants”
An UNSERIOUS proposal from UNSERIOUS people — that causes SERIOUS harm to the American people. Republicans will NOT let this happen.
Isn’t it weird how the left’s idea of ‘helping health care’ includes… (*checks notes*)… cutting $50 Billion from rural hospitals.
