Well, well. When Donald Trump says Muslim immigration should be temporarily halted until things get sorted out, the media and the left (but I repeat myself) heads explode. Where are those critics when the Dalai Lama says the exact same thing?
In an interview published late last week, the Dalai Lama said that Europe has accepted "too many" refugees, and that they should eventually return to help rebuild their home countries.
According to Digital Journal, the Tibetan spiritual leader said,
"When we look into the face of every single refugee, especially the children and women, we can feel their suffering."
What women and children? They're nearly all adult males.
"A human being who is a bit more fortunate has the duty to help them. On the other hand, there are too many now," he said in the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung. "Europe, for example Germany, cannot become an Arab country," he added with a laugh. "Germany is Germany."
Too late. Germany last year took in 1.1 million purported refugees fleeing war in Syria, Iraq, Afghanistan and other countries.
"There are so many that in practice it becomes difficult."
Yes, to put it mildly.
He added that "from a moral point of view too, I think that the refugees should only be admitted temporarily. The goal should be that they return and help rebuild their countries."
That's not going to happen. That was never the goal.
The Dalai Lama, 80, who has himself lived in exile for over half a century, said in the interview that he hopes to one day return to Tibet.
"Maybe in a few years. If an opportunity for my return arises, or at least for a short visit, that would be a source of great joy."

Chicago had a staggering 69 people shot over the Memorial Day weekend.
Many of the shootings took place on the West Side. "In all, 27 of the 69 people hit by gunfire over the weekend were shot in or near the Harrison District, one of the city's most violent and one of the most heavily patrolled by police."
The weekend saw a steady stream of crime victims.
The breakdown from the weekend is: Three people killed and 12 people wounded Friday afternoon through early Saturday; one person killed and 24 people wounded Saturday evening through early Sunday; 13 people wounded Sunday afternoon through early Monday; and 16 people shot Monday into early Tuesday, two of them fatally.
Deputy Superintendent John Escalante  said on Sunday he would beef up patrols near the Harrison District. Nevertheless, nine more people were shot by Tuesday morning.
There is some good news:
While the number of shootings was up from last year, the number of deaths was down. Last year, 12 people were killed and 44 wounded over the holiday weekend. This weekend, 13 more people were shot, but six fewer people were killed.
There were no shooting deaths for more than 48 hours starting late Saturday afternoon through late Monday.
After the holiday weekend, the 2016 tally for people shot in the Chicago area is around 1,500 and at least 250 killed. This time last year the tally was at 957 shot and 164 killed.

The State Department has issued a warning about the risks of a terror attack to Americans who plan to travel to Europe this summer.
"The large number of tourists visiting Europe in the summer months will present greater targets for terrorists planning attacks in public locations, especially at large events," the State Department said in an advisory.
Two events were singled out by the government agency: The Catholic Church's World Youth Day in late July in Poland and the European Soccer Championship in France from June 10 to July 10.
France has been under a state of emergency since the terror attacks in November 2015 left 130 dead.
Law enforcement officials told lawmakers that ISIS is planning more attacks "and that France is clearly a target."
Security officials for the soccer tournament told NBC that it was impossible to make the event 100% safe but it would not be canceled.
The State Department said that European officials "continue to take steps" to disrupt terror plots and are working closely with allies to "identify and counter" threats.

For nearly eight years, President Obama has appointed a range of Muslimofficials with terror-links to influential positions within the administration. The latest in a long line is Zaki Barzinji, whom Obama just tapped as the new associate director of public engagement for the White House.
The Clarion Project notes that Barzinji worked for the Islamic Society of North American (ISNA), an organization targeted by the U.S. Justice Department as a Muslim Brotherhood affiliate and was named an unindicted co-conspirator in a major Hamas-funding trial.
Oh, and Barzinji's grandfather was also a Muslim Brotherhood terror suspect.
Oh, and according to Clarion Project, Barzinji previously served as the deputy director of intergovernmental affairs for Virginia Governor Terry McAuliffe, who is currently under investigation for "possible political corruption."
Of the Obama appointee's grandfather, Clarion notes that Jamal Barzinji, deceased as of last year, "was a founder and/or senior official in virtually every group identified as a Muslim Brotherhood front in America."
Mysteriously, the Obama Justice Department dropped a planned indictment of the elder Barzinji and in 2013,  Zaki accepted an award on his grandfather’s behalf at "the Hamas/Brotherhood-linked Dar al-Hijrah Islamic Center in Virginia, which the late Barzinji helped found."
The mosque is infamous for the fact that al-Qaeda operative Anwar al-Awlaki was its head imam in 2001.
We part with a question posed by Clarion: "is it really wise to have the grandson of a Muslim Brotherhood terror suspect, who served as the head of the youth wing of an identified Muslim Brotherhood identity with Hamas links, as the White House’s liaison to the Muslim-American community?"
We think the answer to that one is clear.

President Obama issued an ominous warming to Americans, urging them to get survival kits because global warming will inflict “more powerful and more devastating” hurricanes on the United States.
"And that means taking proactive steps, like having an evacuation plan, having a fully stocked disaster supply kit,” Obama said Tuesday during a meeting with Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) officials. “If your local authorities ask you to evacuate, you have to do it; don’t wait.”
The president explained that hurricanes will become more devastating as global warming increases.
“All of us have seen the heartbreak, the damage and, in some case, the loss of life that hurricanes can cause,” Obama said. “And as climate continues to change, hurricanes are only going to become more powerful and more devastating.”
And while the government has an important role to play regarding the climate, "it is every citizen’s responsibility to be prepared for a disaster."
However, the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) said that this year's hurricane season is expected to be "near normal."

Contrary to what the mainstream media would have the American public believe, not all Hispanics think Donald Trump a racist. In fact, some Latinos are more than a bit outspoken in their support for the GOP nominee.
Like Angelo Gomez.
Gomez, whose Twitter handle is @TrumpNVIntern, made an impassioned plea for the Republican presidential hopeful in a video recently published on YouTube by yet another Hispanic Trump supporter dubbed @Immigrant4trump.
Gomez begins the video with an introduction:
“My name is Angelo Gomez and I have something very clear to say to the liberal media and Hillary Clinton: yes, I’m an American Latino who supports Donald Trump.
“Yes, I come from a family rooted in immigrants and I support Donald J. Trump to be the next president of the United States.
The American Mirror uncovered the video which features other Hispanic voters making their case for Trump and scenes of Latinos at various Trump rallies around the country.
"I support Donald Trump with every ounce of my being," Gomez says emphatically.  "For the very reasons that this country, that the Constitution, that this flag behind me was founded upon and that’s putting the American people first. That’s putting this country first."
Gomez goes on to describe Democratic rival Hillary Clinton as the "face of an incompetent politician who has lied to, who has cheated, and who has gotten Americans killed."
Other Trump supporters chime in:
“My name is Barbie, I’m Latina, I’m independent and I’m voting for Donald Trump,” one woman says.
“I am Hispanic, Mexican-American, also an Army veteran, and I will vote for Donald Trump,” a man says in the video.
Another Latino woman says her family is from Cuba and “we all support Donald Trump because he understands that the most patriotic Americans are immigrants who came here not for what they could get here, but who they could be here.”
One man showed his decked-out pickup truck with Trump flags and a giant “Crooked Hillary” sign on the tail gate. Another sign reads, “I came to the US legally! Looking for the American Dream, not the Mexican nightmare! Make Mexico pay for the wall!”
The American Mirror reports that the people featured in the video are affiliated with the group "Latinos for Trump," which operates under the Twitter hashtag, #LatinosforTrumphashtag.
